* Trick's "Did you really abandon me too?" comment while they're at their master's house. It seems to refer to Treat at first, but a Q&A strip in the webcomic reveals they were abandoned by their biological parents, making the comment a lot sadder.
* Moxie's failed attempts to flirt with Treat and Mochi are PlayedForLaughs at first, but they become less funny once it's shown that it affects her already pummeling self-esteem badly.
* Another one concerning Moxie is a specific interaction in "Friendly Bunny Mochi" triggered by checking Mochi's mailbox while accompanied by Moxie. Upon seeing the money sent to Mochi by her parents, the fox girl is left in disbelief over how Mochi doesn't like being pampered by her parents.
