* Dragon, Bounce and Shimmer in ''WesternAnimation/MissSpidersSunnyPatchFriends'' are a dragonfly, bedbug, and beetle respectively, but Miss Spider and Holley treat them no differently than they do with their biological arachnid children. It probably has a lot to do with the fact Miss Spider herself was Happily Adopted by Betty, a beetle. Additionally, Stinky the stinkbug adopts a ladybug named Grace later on in the series.

* Finn, one of the main protagonists of ''WesternAnimation/AdventureTime'', is a human boy who was adopted by a family of talking dogs as a baby. Although they've since died, he lives with his adopted brother and they seem very close. While Finn has some angst ([[IdiotHero as much as he can]]) related to this, it's mostly because his background is such a mystery to him, [[spoiler:which he eventually finds out]].
