* This dates back quite a while, but I have always been fond of the original VideoGame/PerfectDark for the UsefulNotes/Nintendo64. The music, the multiplayer, the weapons, the story, the levels, just about everything was as Perfect as the title would lead you to believe. It's just such a shame that it wasn't as widely acknowledged as VideoGame/GoldenEye1997, and part of me thinks that it only became known because of the prequel released on the Xbox.

* Very few games released on the UsefulNotes/SegaCD took full advantage of the CD-ROM format (FMV games notwithstanding). Among those precious few games is VideoGame/PopfulMail, an action-adventure-platformer with gameplay reminiscent of VideoGame/ZeldaIITheAdventureOfLink and an anime-esque story similar to Literature/Slayers. Just as impressive: for a game released in the early-to-mid 90s, it featured some of the best voice acting in video games.

This is a gush thing I wanted to gush

* VideoGame/PsychicForce is truly and undoubtedly one of the best and original fighting games to ever come out of the '90s courtesy of Creator/Taito. The fighters, who are called Psychiccers, battle against each other in the air via their psychic powers from within a psychic barrier and that each Psychiccer has their own unique and intricate Elemental Power. While the surprisingly good and interesting storyline pretty much follows ComicBook/XMens own strong narrative, it does quite a fine and impressive job with it, giving us a unique and diverse cast of characters; some good, some evil, and some indifferent when it comes to the unexpected high magnitude of the storyline itself. Add in a remarkable and extraordinary fighting engine system, SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic courtesy of Taito's in-house music band Zuntata, and amazing artwork which literally screams '90s anime, Psychic Force is without a doubt a hidden fighting game gem that all fighting game aficionados and enthusiasts should definitely check out when given the chance and opportunity to do so.

pizza tower is amazing! The art and gameplay and music are GREAT! It’s a love letter to old platformers. (mainly Warioland) And is so fun!

* VisualNovel/JackJeanne is a visual novel/otome game that hasn't been out for very long, and is criminally overlooked. It has an amazing, well-developed cast of characters that all grow and evolve wonderfully over the course of the game, the rhythm elements are fun, the different songs are all catchy and well-sung, the story is very long yet immersive and intriguing, and did I mention the artwork, character design, and overall story were all made by Creator/SuiIshida, alongside his sister? Otome games tend to get a bit of a bad rep, but seriously, give Jack Jeanne a shot. I did, and I don't regret it one bit. It deserves all the love it can get!

It has an amazing, well-developed cast of characters that all grow and evolve wonderfully over the course of the game, the rhythm elements are fun, fun and easy to grasp, the different songs are all catchy and well-sung, the story is very long yet immersive and intriguing, and did I mention the artwork, character design, and overall story were all made by Creator/SuiIshida, Sui Ishida, alongside his sister? Plus, while the romance is more of a side-plot than anything, the game has you go out of your way to really build the romance and chemistry between Kisa and whichever love interest you choose, so the romance actually feels earned rather than shoved in your face like most otome games tend to do. Otome games tend to get a bit of a bad rep, but seriously, give Jack Jeanne a shot. I did, and I don't regret it one bit. It deserves all the love it can get!

* I've been a fan of the VideoGame/HenryStickminSeries since it was still a web browser series. I've played all of the games up to "Infiltrating The Airship" and got all the endings, then came the news of a new game and I was super excited to play it, and I loved it as well (Fleeing The Complex is probably my favorite one aside from the GrandFinale, maybe for introducing my favorite character Dmitri, but I've already gushed about him in the Villain section). The game is funny with all the fail screens, jokes and references. It might not be as story or character driven as other games here, but it could still be more immersive than meets the eye. Definitely worth a shot if you're looking for a good laugh.

** Speaking of Hearts of Iron, the GameMod The Road to 56 for the fourth game is a must-have mod. Not only does it refine many elements of the base game, but it also adds a ton of AlternateHistory options, some of which are awesomely over the top like UsefulNotes/Honduras becoming a "Banana Empire" and taking over most of Central America.
