** Gets a CallBack in a later story, when Cat wonders why Ian hasn't fallen under the influence of whatever is controlling the other vampires. In explanation, he starts to take down his pants (to show her the tattoo that protects him from demons), and Cat turns away and says, "I don't care what you think, your junk does ''not'' have special abilities. And I already heard about the piercing."
* Cat and Bones are riding the elevator in their swanky hotel with a snobbish couple, and Cat's not her best after a long time on the road. The woman sniffs and loudly whispers to her husband, "Clientele seems to have slipped." Cat restrains herself from mesmerizing her into thinking her ass has grown several sizes. Bones, who can read humans' minds, just gives them a bland smile as they get off.
-->'''Bones:''' She's been rogering the plumber every Thursday while you're at the club. Did you really think your loo needed repairs three times this past month?\\
''[woman gasps, looking guilty]''\\
'''Man:''' You told me he was laying pipe, Lucinda!\\
'''Bones:''' Right you are, mate.\\
''[doors close, and Cat turns to rebuke her husband]''\\
'''Cat:''' Bones!\\
'''Bones:''' Serves her right for what she was thinking about you, and he was no better. Not like I broke some poor, innocent bloke's heart, either. He's shagging his barrister. Pair of them deserve each other.

* Cat ending a passionate speech with an invitation to those who have a problem with her [[spoiler: being a vampire who drinks undead blood]] to "step right up and see if I don't eat the hell out of you next!" The unintentional pun is not lost on anyone.

* A RunningGag is Vlad's irritation with what pop culture has made of his life story, and his hating to be called Dracula. Which makes it extra funny when he finally confesses to Leila that it all started when he imbibed Red Dragon (the blood of a human with demonic essence in them, which gives it a narcotic effect) and met a writer named Bram Stoker, who was looking for inspiration for a new story. In his state, Vlad thought it would be the height of hilarity to feed the guy a bunch of cock and bull stories about his own life, of course without revealing who he was. So the pop culture depictions of him are a constant reminder of the time he got stoned and made an ass of himself.
