For extra hilarity, the second player will simply stand around and do nothing, even more-so if they decide on GoingThroughTheMotions: the males (Marco and Tarma) will either drink water from a flask, or take a nap (or as Tarma, check on his snack, only to find it empty, crush it, and throw it away), Fio will set-down a picnic blanket and grab a bite, while Eri will simply grab a bubble gum and blow a bubble out of it, ''in the middle of their companion's abduction''.

* The good ending of ''Metal Slug 4'', in which the team has a feast and eats themselves to fattiness.
** Even the bad ending lightens the mood. The player or players are visited in hospital by the other playable characters who bring in baskets of fruit. They give a ''huge'' smile upon seeing it.

* HEVVY MASHEEN GUN! RAWKET LAWNCHAIR! MOBEEL SATTELITE! SHAWTGUN! YOU'RE GREAT!

* The Samurai/Japanese Soldiers in ''Metal Slug 3''. Due to running out of resources, they have to improvise. Among the things they use are a [[https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/metalslug/images/8/8f/Japanese-Tank-With-Effect.gif tank]] [[WalkingTank carried by two Japanese soldiers]] and aircraft that "fly" ''via a rope and pulley system''.
** Even funnier, they went through all the trouble creating the pulley system but didn't take into account that they'd run out of space for the airplanes to "fly". The result is a bunch of pulley-airplanes crashing and blowing up into the wall because [[TooDumbToLive they didn't think the whole design through.]]
* A common group of enemies in the series is a group of helicopters who fly in sync to follow the leader (the red copter). Destroying the leader copter first will cause the rest to explode all by themselves just to follow the leader.

* After seemingly defeating Morden near the end of 3, it's revealed that he's an impostor and the real one was shackled to a Dai-Manji. When the current player character is abducted and screams, Morden opens his mouth in an animation as if he's screaming too, except there's no voice clip of him doing so. If the abducted character is female, it looks like [[ScreamsLikeALittleGirl Morden's scream is hilariously high-pitched]].
