** This whole event is later followed up in Chapter 9, where the Purple Dragons are still recovering from Donnie's complete and total destruction of their reputation. It is mentioned that film of their embarrassing drive to the cops has already been [[StupidStatementDanceMix remixed repeatedly]], and the author notes confirm that the culprit is none other than ''Shelldon''. [[LikeFatherLikeSon Guess the microchip doesn't fall that far from the mainframe, huh?]]

* Chapter 8 chooses to briefly break tension by having Casey startle the hell out of Raph and Splinter at the end of their comforting hug session. The result? The narration [[SuspiciouslySpecificDenial ''insisting'' Raph didn't scream]] while launching himself into the air and Splinter trying to karate chop poor Casey in the face! The editor once again [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uAKj6DhPHzw went out of her way to animate the moment]], complete with pulling out Raph's trademark shriek from the show itself.

** The illustration for the chapter shows Leo outright ''sulking'' in the chair he's in for his "therapy session" and looking wildly out of place, complete with a png for a real-life "Hang In There!" poster and children's floor rug!

*Though brief and in [[WhamEpisode a doozy of a chapter otherwise]], there's something funny about the fact Future Donatello named the various settings on the hacking device he gave Casey things like "polite discussion" and "heated argument".
**Also the author's notes in that chapter commenting that Master Donatello had been very intent on dying as he lived; cackling as something exploded in the background.

*Casey's switch from terrifying slasher film character to awkward and uncomfortable at the petty drama kicking up around him in Chapter 9 has to be seen to be believed.
*Leo's pestering Tomlinson in Chapter 10 can cause a few chuckles.

* Chapter 3's attempt at heartfelt communication between Donatello and Leonardo ends rather abruptly with the discovery of nothing less than a ''robotic dragon'' perched on top of the store they were going to. It's the nonchalant response the boys have to it that really sells it.
** Also in Chapter 3 is Donnie hacking into the Purple Dragon's mainframe and having their own car drive them to the police, blaring "Entry Of The Gladiators" all the way there, among other petty things like changing all their contacts to the "It's A Mystery" ghost.

*In Chapter 1 it's mentioned one of Leo's tactics for irritating his brothers into doing what he wants is singing "99 Bottles" until they can't take it anymore. This and Leo calling it "[[InsistentTerminology his stellar bedside manner]]" is already funny enough, but it [[BrickJoke comes up again]] in Chapter 4 as the main means Leo was using to torment his and Donnie's captors while Donnie was unconscious.
* Chapter 3's 2's attempt at heartfelt communication between Donatello and Leonardo ends rather abruptly with the discovery of nothing less than a ''robotic dragon'' perched on top of the store they were going to. It's the nonchalant response the boys have to it that really sells it.

* There's something extremely funny about the editor/illustrator taking over the authors notes briefly to bemoan not being able to set up a hidden message in one of Chapter 5's illustrations before telling the audience what it would've been.

** At one point just before Christmas, the editor actually asked if someone else could make a TV Tropes page for the fic, as while she was intending to do it by January if there wasn't one by then she is notoriously bad with code and hoped someone else better with it would handle it first. [[SelfDepreciation Honestly, I probably brought this on myself.]]

As somber and upsetting as some of the events of the fic can be, there are a few bright spots of humor akin to its parent show both in and outside the story, as the writer and editor/illustrator are reasonably public and [[EccentricArtist just a bit out there]].
