* Combat Carl's appearance in this film looks very different from how he appeared in the first movie, having undergone a RaceLift to better resemble his actor, Creator/CarlWeathers. So why are there two distinctly different Combat Carl's in the series? Believe it or not, it's not a case of EarlyInstallmentWeirdness. You see, the entire ''Combat Carl'' line exists in the ''Toy Story'' universe because Hasbro wouldn't allow Pixar to license ''Franchise/GIJoe'' over concerns of having Sid blow up one of them. Now, ''G.I. Joe'' was first made back in the 1960s as Hasbro's answer to Barbie, and back then, he was just a generic soldier. It wasn't until the 1980s that the franchise took shape in the form of [[WesternAnimation/GIJoeARealAmericanHero the series we all know and love today]]. Since ''Combat Carl'' is this universe's form of ''G.I. Joe'', it's easy to assume that the same history with it's real-life counterpart is more-or-less the same. Therefore, the poor Combat Carl that got blown up was the original model from the 1960s, and the one seen in this special is the more familiar model from the 1980s. It helps that the bonus features of this special include an in-universe PSA made explicitly in the style of the "AndKnowingIsHalfTheBattle" shorts that ''G.I. Joe'' made during its run, complete with the same animation and logo transition.
* Woody warning Potato Head about the dangers of a motel makes perfect sense when you realize that the old spud is prone to losing parts. A motel isn't just the easiest place for a toy to get lost; it's also the easiest place for a toy to lose any parts permanently, and no kid wants that. Woody and Jessie could easily lose their hats, but Potato Head has fallen apart enough times that his pieces might take too long to find their way back to him before Bonnie leaves.

* Pay close attention to the package Woody's being shipped in, and you'll see it's being mailed to Al's Toy Barn. That means Al ''still'' hasn't given up on finding the complete ''Woody's Roundup'' collection, and has probably committed all sorts of shenanigans to track down his prize. Granted, he didn't steal Woody this time, but he was basically buying a stolen toy ripped away from some poor little girl, and was going to take Jessie along with him. He may not have actually known it, but he's still willing to crush some poor child's heart just to make a quick buck.
