* Planet Wisp's design concept is parallel to the motive of Sonic and Eggman's rivalry. The nature side of the Zone represent Sonic's goal to keep the world safe, while the mechanical construction site and contraptions that are prominent represents Eggman using technology to his end goal at the cost of the world he's conquering and potentially native lifeforms.

*** It should be noted that Sonic could not use his boost to increase his speed, which is often shown in later games to be his fastest, examples being in ''VideoGame/SonicForces'' when Tails notes that Infinite is faster than Sonic while using boost and how [[MyFutureSelfandMe Classic Sonic]] was trying to learn to use boost in ''VideoGame/SonicGenerations''.

* At first I felt that the heavy use of autotune and voice alteration in "Speak with Your Heart" was off-putting. Then I beat the game on the Wii. As I was destroying the credits it suddenly hit me why the vocals for the song were more robotic. Tails had finally got his translator working 100% by the time the Wisps had to depart, right? It's his ''translator'' singing the song. Well played, Sega and Cash cash!

** Or, taking from [[WesternAnimation/AdventuresOfSonicTheHedgehog another Sonic canon]], Eggman deliberately programmed Orbot to be snide and sarcastic and for Cubot to be… well, Cubot in order to both make ''himself'' feel more competent and to prevent the two from being smart enough to betray him. A later comic from [[ComicBook/SonicTheHedgehogArchieComics the Archie reboot continuity]] also took a stance on this, saying that Eggman's competitive nature is why he programmed Orbot to be a dissenting voice.

** To be more precise, it's actually Yacker singing ''through Tails' translator''. Also, note that at the start of the song, the words come out partially distorted, but at the end, they come through almost clearly, reflecting how Sonic is able to understand Yacker by the game's end.

* Sonic first encounters Eggman right before the first boss battle, at the end of Tropical Resort. Eggman appears to be unpleasantly surprised (''"SONIC?!"''), as if he wasn't expecting his mortal enemy to show up so soon... so why, five stages before, did we hear him making that lying PA announcement asking Sonic to come to the office? Does he give out fake PA's calling for Sonic every third day or so and hope he gets lucky?
** He knew Sonic was at the park. He just wasn't expecting to encounter him face-to-face so soon. Either that, or he was CrazyPrepared, knowing Sonic would turn up at some point, just not expecting it to be so ''soon''.
** Maybe [[RuleOfFunny he just isn't capable of saying "Sonic" without sounding incredibly pissed off?]] It would definitely explain why he keeps saying stuff like "that wretched hedgehog!"
* What exactly was the Starlight Carnival's generator actually doing there? It wasn't even attached to anything. There's the Sweet Mountain planet, Planet Wisp, the Aquarium Park planet, and the Asteroid Coaster planetoid area, but nothing attached to Starlight Carnival.
** Additionally, [[WhatHappenedToTheMouse what happened]] to those THOUSANDS of starships you zoom by during the level? Were they deactivated along with the generator, or is that colossal space fleet [[FridgeHorror still floating around]]?
** If you look at the map, the generators are connected to the main structure, they're powering the mind control machine.

* The subplot concerning Cubot's voice chip is a commentary by the developers on the UnpleasableFanbase regarding the voice acting in the series. No matter what they try, Cubot's voice just gets more annoying, eventually leading to him having the most irritating voice ever.
