Since summer school is usually reserved for unruly kids with bad grades (as we can see with some kids being jerks or popping pills) or those who want to attend summer school (as we can assume with Calvin). This means that a majority of school-age children are out on summer vacation. Other than the fact that there was more than one infected chicken nugget (the piles and piles of black-streaked nuggets in the entertainment center), this would explain how the virus was able to spread so far at the end, especially considering the virus’s near-instant infection time.
