* CoitusEnsues: Parodied in the first movie. After a plot-important scene of Cassandra on the phone arranging her music video shoot, Wayne and Cassandra get in bed together, with no plot importance. They aren't shown actually having sex, but the words "Gratuitous Sex Scene" flash on the screen as they unconvincingly simulate sex while clothed.

* MultipleEndings: A DownerEnding, a ''WesternAnimation/ScoobyDoo'' Ending (it was [[spoiler:Old Man Withers, the guy who runs the haunted amusement park]]) and a [[HappilyEverAfter Mega-Happy Ending]]. The sequel replaces the ''[=Scooby-Doo=]'' ending with a ''Thelma & Louise'' ending. The scene cuts to the happy ending as Wayne and Garth drive off a cliff into the Grand Canyon.

* BunglingInventor: Ron Paxton, inventor of the Suck Kut, [[AluminumChristmasTrees a vacuum cleaner that's been re-purposed to cut hair]].

* TheDogWasTheMastermind: Parodied in the "Scooby-Doo Ending" of ''Waynes World'', where it's revealed that Ben is really [[spoiler:Old Man Withers]], the amusement park owner who Wayne spoke to for five seconds near the beginning of the film. Probably an AffectionateParody of how, in older Scooby-Doo episodes, the perpetrator was often introduced the exact same way.

* ShesGotLegs: Stacy is described as having "Very nice legs, but no self-esteem."

** Wayne, Garth, and the crew lip sync to Music/{{Queen|Band}}'s [[Music/ANightAtTheOpera "Bohemian Rhapsody"]] during a nighttime drive, headbanging during the guitar solo.

** Jim Morrison and the "weird naked indian" are references to ''Film/{{The Doors|1991}}.''

* AluminumChristmasTrees:
** It seems like a gag made up for the film, but some music stores actually had "NO [[Music/LedZeppelin STAIRWAY]]" signs before the movie came out due to the number of people who would test out their guitars with that song.
** Believe it or not, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_b4Z5Kg08PY the "Suck Kut" invented by "Ron Paxton"]] is actually a parody of [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V3G1cwqYkO4 a real product called the Flowbee]]. It was invented in 1988 by [[BunglingInventor Rick Hunt]], and the Flowbee, as Wayne so eloquently put it, "[[TakeThat certainly does suck]]."
** In Del's story, Ozzy Ozbourne won't perform until he gets a brandy glass full of brown M&Ms. This is based ''loosely'' on a real thing. Van Halen had in their [[https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/brown-out/ standard contracts]] that they had to have a bowl of M&Ms backstage with all of the brown ones removed as a SecretTestOfCharacter to check whether their rider had been followed thoroughly. Good thing they did -- the first time they found brown M&M's in the dressing room, the staging had broken through the floor. The clients covered up the ''eighty thousand dollars'' worth of damage as David Lee Roth trashing the place in a prima donna temper tantrum at finding the brown M&M's. Roth admitted to a couple grand worth.
** The Gasworks (where Wayne and Garth first see Crucial Taunt perform in the first film) was an actual heavy metal club. However, it was located in Toronto, Canada rather than Chicago. It closed its doors forever a few months after ''Wayne's World'' was released in theaters. This is why it does not appear in the sequel.

The film has also received a few {{Licensed Game}}s. Two of them are platformers by Radical Entertainment and Gray Matter, which have pages [[VideoGame/WaynesWorldRadicalEntertainment here]] and [[VideoGame/WaynesWorldGrayMatter here]] respectively.

* BewareTheNiceOnes: In the first film, Garth is insulted and then shoved to the ground by a large bully. Garth calmly goes to his car, retreives a cattle prod, returns to the club, and sends the bully flying with a powerful electric shock.

* AmbiguousDisorder: Garth's definitely not all there. He's very nerdy and is mentioned to take Ritalin; he's also awkward in social situations.

* FunWithSubtitles: In the first film, Wayne learns Cantonese to impress Cassandra. He begins the conversation speaking what sounds believably like the subtitles. * FrothyMugsOfWater: Despite the fact that Wayne and Garth are apparently a pair of hard-partying metalheads, the Wayne's World films contain no depictions of drug use and very little alcohol consumption. The only vices Wayne and Garth seem to have is their love of coffee and donuts from Stan Mikita's (although their friend Phil perpetually seems to be on the verge of throwing up from excessive drinking).
