** While the slapstick gags that you'd expect to see are there, a surprising amount of the humor around Clouseau is made up of CringeComedy regarding his overly saccharine romantic gestures towards his wife, as well as his obliviousness to her true nature. Future entries would largely flip this on its head and turn Clouseau into a KavorkaMan who is befuddled as to why so many women seem to find him irresistible.
