* PoliceAreUseless: Every named police officer of Boston in the movie is either on the payroll of organized crime or running extortion rackets independently. The police also don't seem to be involved when a young girl is brutally beaten within an inch of her life. It's a small wonder that [=McCall=] decides to get involved personally rather than report the sex trafficking ring to local authorities given how deep the corruption seems to run, although he does get honest people from the FBI and CIA involved.
