''The Beautician and the Beast'' is a 1997 American family comedy film directed by Ken Kwapis and starring Fran Drescher and TimothyDalton as the title characters.

The movie was Dresher's first and only theatrical lead role, it also nearly destroyed her career by being a rather massive BoxOfficeBomb, receiving scathing reviews from critics and grossing well under the film's budget.

The story follows the misadventures of a New York City beautician who is mistakenly hired as the school teacher for the children of the president of a small Eastern European country. The story is similar to that of ''TheKingAndI'', ''TheSoundOfMusic'', and ''{{Evita}}'', with elements also reminiscent of the sitcom ''TheNanny'', for which Drescher is most famous. Despite the film's title, however, the movie has nothing to do with ''BeautyAndTheBeast''.
