mis-use: this trope is about how "long running series often have to experiment a little before they find their niche". This serial was a one-shot presentation of Captain Marvel on the big-screen and had no sequels. It is not a long-running work so there is no "early installment" aspect to it. The lack of the Marvel Family does not factor into it at all.

* EarlyInstallmentWeirdness: If you're wondering where the rest of the Marvel Family is, they weren't in the comics yet when this was made.
