No trope slashing

* DenserAndWackier / LighterAndSofter: The first film is a cynical SliceOfLife with a few light-hearted moments, while this one is more of an outright comedy with a ''lot'' more {{fanservice}}.

''Magic Mike XXL'' is a 2015 {{road trip|plot}} comedy written by Reid Carolin and directed by Gregory Jacobs. It is the sequel to 2012's ''Film/MagicMike'', once again starring Creator/ChanningTatum in the titular role, based on his real-life experience as a male exotic dancer.

Three years after ending his stripping career, Mike (Tatum) is running his own boutique furniture business when he's unexpectedly contacted by his former coworkers Tarzan (Wrestling/KevinNash), "Big Dick" Richie (Creator/JoeManganiello), Ken (Creator/MattBomer), and Tito (Creator/AdamRodriguez) with a proposition: joining them for their last-ever performance at a major convention for male stripping. HilarityEnsues. Creator/GabrielIglesias also returns from the first film, reprising his role as emcee Tobias.

In addition to the returning cast, new additions in major roles include Creator/AmberHeard, Creator/JadaPinkettSmith, Creator/DonaldGlover, and Creator/AndieMacDowell.

''Magic Mike XXL'' was released on July 1, 2015. Another sequel, ''Magic Mike's Last Dance'', was released in 2023.

!! ''Magic Tropes XXL:''
* AscendedExtra: Whereas the first film mostly focused on Mike, Dallas, and Adam, the latter two are written out of the story, thusly allowing for Tarzan, Big Dick Richie, and Tito to have bigger roles.
* BackInTheSaddle: Mike comes out of his brief retirement from stripping to join his friends on the road to a stripping convention.
* BigPrickBigProblems: In the sequel, the character arc of "Big Dick Ritchie" revolves around the fact he can't find a woman who can handle his, well, big dick. He laments that as a result of his huge penis, he hasn't had actual sex in months. The culmination of his arc is meeting a MILF who can handle said big dick.
* CameraFiend: Zoe is a photographer.
* CelibateHero: Mike has the opportunity to have sex with Zoe, but opts not to and never sleeps with her throughout the whole movie.
* CharacterTitle: Much like the first one.
* DenserAndWackier / LighterAndSofter: The first film is a cynical SliceOfLife with a few light-hearted moments, while this one is more of an outright comedy with a ''lot'' more {{fanservice}}.
* EatingTheEyeCandy: The scene in which Richie "performs" for a convenience store attendant, where the sole purpose of him dancing sexily for her is to elicit this response.
* FanConvention: The plot of the movie is centered on the group of guys traveling to a stripping convention together.
* HotMom: Nancy and her fellow middle-aged women are classic MILF types.
* MayDecemberRomance: Richie ends up in one of these with Richie.
* OffscreenBreakup: Mike has since broken up with Brooke between the first film and ''XXL''.
* PutOnABus: Dallas has gone off to Macau and taken Adam with him, so neither character appears in this one. The reason for it is supposedly due to Creator/MatthewMcConaughey's career resurgence post-Oscar win making him more expensive than the first time around, and Alex Pettyfer reportedly not getting along with the cast during the first film.
* ReplacementGoldfish: Zoe replaces Brooke as Mike's love interest in this film, and the two have quite a bit of overlap in terms of personality and appearance.
* RoadTripPlot: The film follows the strippers' misadventures as they travel to a convention together, utilizing an episodic narrative structure.
* SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome: Despite his talent for carpentry, Mike's furniture business is struggling, especially without a backup job like stripping for him to stay afloat with.
* WhereEverybodyKnowsYourFlame: One of the stops on the road trip is to a gay bar, where the group participates in an amateur {{drag queen}}/vouging competition for fun.
