* BadFuture: The "present" of 2044 is strongly implied to have rampant unemployment with the organized crime being one of the main employers; in addition, one of the first things we see is someone getting shot in the back ''in the street'' for stealing somebodies luggage, and nobody gives a damn. The "future" of 2074 seems to be more idilyic (in China, at least), and policing is so efficient that gangsters have to resort to time-travel to get away with murder, but it is also at the mercy of a fearsome criminal and terrorist mastermind known only as the Rainmaker, who commits mass murder with impunity.

''{{Looper}}'' is a ScienceFiction [[FilmNoir noir]] film in which JosephGordonLevitt plays a man named [[TheDanza Joe]], and BruceWillis plays [[MindScrew the same man named Joe.]] Yeah, it's that type of a film. The film takes place in a world where time travel does not exist but will be invented thirty years into the future. In this future, it is illegal to travel time, but a flourishing black market has made the technology available to the mafia who have put it to practical use. When they need to kill a target, they simply send the man back in time where a [[TitleDrop 'looper']] like Joe can kill and dispose of them without leaving evidence. Unfortunately Joe's latest target is proving difficult to kill, and to make matters worse, it's himself from the future.
