Several years have passed from the Amity Island incidents, and Michael Brody, now grown up, is working for the [=SeaWorld=]. But now he must fight a killer shark of his own, as a gigantic one makes the place its home and starts eating the employees and customers.

*** Possibly justified, since the shark from the original novel (and the sequel) was explicitly stated to be thirty feet as well.

** Sharks are not able to swim backwards.

* DoesNotLikeShoes: Kelly, who kicks off her sandals to get into a bumper boat barefoot. Her job at [=SeaWorld=] probably doesn't let her wear shoes very often, anyway.

* HotScientist: Kay, the park's marine biologist, is considered sexy.

* CaptainErsatz: The park, [=SeaWorld=], obviously based on the [[Ride/SeaWorld real thing]], but with some notable differences, such as being linked to the open ocean. (Orlando is in central Florida, nowhere near the shore)

* NightSwimEqualsDeath: Overman goes diving alone just after sunset to inspect the broken sea gate, only to become the shark's dinner. Also the fate of the two burglars who snuck into the property.

* OhCrap: Mike, Kate, and Calvin all have this expression when they see that the shark is swimming right towards the control room about to smash through the glass and flood the place.

* AnArmAndALeg: Shelby Overman’s right about is torn off when he is attacked by the shark.

* SomethingCompletelyDifferent:
** The first to feature a female shark (assuming one disregards ExpandedUniverse material, that makes the shark in Part 2 out to be a female. Who was pregnant. With the shark from ''[[Film/JawsTheRevenge The Revenge]]''. [[VoodooShark You know the one]].)

* JerkAss: One of the bumperboat riders knocks Kelly and Sean into the water while the latter was trying to restart the motor. This was the second time he knocked into them. Granted, he didn't know about the shark, but it was still a jerk move.

* NiceJobBreakingItHero: Bouchard orders the filtration pipe pump shut down right in the middle of the operation to fix the underwater tunnels, fully aware that they were used to keep the shark confined. He's more worried about the cost of the pump if it burns out, and incorrectly assumes that the locked grate will keep that gigantic thing in the pipe.

* JerkAss: One of the bumperboat riders knocks Kelly and Sean into the water while the latter was trying to restart the motor. This was the second time he knocked into them.
Granted, he didn't know about the shark, but it was still a jerk move.

* HeroicDolphin: Cindy and Sandy rescue Kay and Mike from a shark after attempting to keep them out of the Galleon. Later, one of them gets in front of the shark, again allowing Mike and Kay time to escape. It initially appears to be a HeroicSacrifice on the dolphin's part, before InfantImmortality kicks in.

* RealityEnsues: very odd thing to say about this movie. But Lea Thompson’s free spirit ways and Sean overcoming his well justified fears were sure set up like they were going to be important. Instead Lea is wounded, Sean knows he’s not going to be able to help, she goes to the hospital, he rides along, and they’re never seen nor mentioned again.

** Shelby Overman’s death is pretty brutal too, judging by the condition of his corpse and his right arm is torn off during the shark’s attack.

* CruelAndUnusualDeath: [[spoiler:[=FitzRoyce=]]]'s death. He gets swallowed by the shark, and later his corpse is spotted being stuck in its throat, which means that he drowned within the beast as he tried to climb out.

** The grenade that the British scientists intend to use to blow up the shark. They don't get to use it, [[spoiler: what with the Brit being ''eaten'' by the shark and all, but Mike and Kay do.]]
** The lifeline the British scientists intend to use to get out of the filtration pipe. [[spoiler: Is it really any surprise when it snaps, leaving one of them to become the shark's midnight snack?]]

* EatenAlive: The shark swallows [=FitzRoyce=] alive, in vivid detail.
