* {{Novelization}}: Written by Hank Searls, it's a very unusual book, being based on a much earlier draft of the screenplay. As a result, it reads like a weird alternate universe version of the film's story, and, in many ways, more of a sequel to the [[Literature/{{Jaws}} original novel]].

Added DiffLines:

* MonsterIsAMommy: In the novelization (based on an early script), the shark is a female who was impregnated by the shark from the first novel/film which is terrorizing Amity due to her ravenous hunger and later territoriality to protect her almost-to-term young, and during the climax she gives birth to a single baby before she gets electrocuted. The baby later grows up to be the shark from ''[[Film/JawsTheRevenge]]''.

** Well, to be fair, all Brody showed them was a really bad close-up photo of the shark, to where you could BARELY see anything. Brody doesn't help his case by acting like a crazily obsessed man during the whole scene, showing absolutely ''no'' remorse for his actions on the beach, which could have resulted in someone being injured or even ''killed''--[[StrawmanHasAPoint the committee was well within its right to fire him over that.]]

Another one [[GetAHoldOfYourselfMan tries to shut her up by shaking her violently]], but is told by his friends that this won't help. Not all the women are like this, but it stands out because by contrast the guys are all portrayed as practical and goal-oriented, and none of them breaks down to the same degree. Even the much younger Michael holds it together better than her, who by all accounts has far more right to be freaked out due to being a kid. In her defense, she is in the middle of an extremely traumatic and terrifying experience, as well as having seen friends die in front of her.

The first sequel to ''Film/{{Jaws}}'', released in the yer 1978.

Four years after the events of the first film, another shark swims to the Amity Island waters to munch on its inhabitants. Sheriff Brody desperately seeks to find a way to stop it, especially when it makes the annual regatta which his sons are attending as its primary target.
