Sick and tired of being haunted by the memory of the mass murderer Jason Voorhees, Tommy Jarvis decides to purge him out of his mind by destroying his remains. He and his buddy Hawes then drive to the Eternal Peace Cemetery in Crystal Lake (now Forest Green), dig him up and prepare to burn his corpse. Then the unexpected happens. A lightning bolt strikes the corpse, and... Jason lives!
