The movie was due to release April 2020 [[ReleaseDateChange but was pushed back]] due to the UsefulNotes/COVID19Pandemic going into full swing across the globe at that point. The film was later released internationally in April 2021 and in the U.S. on June 25, 2021.

* CuttingTheKnot: Unable to hack into the [[spoiler:the satellite]] transmitter conventionally, Roman gets the idea to simply ram the thing, even though doing so would [[spoiler:at best strand them in space with no fuel and at worst blow them up on impact. Fortunately, they survive and get picked up by the space station]].

* EverythingIsRacist: Played for laughs. One of the Afro-Latino men young Dom met in prison asserted that they weren't arrested because they blew up a bank, they were arrested because they were black.

* MacGuffinPersonReveal: [[spoiler: the key to Unlocking Ares turns out to be Han's adoptive daughter, Elle, since her parents locked their invention with their DNA. Like most bearers of this trope, this is a girl.]]

''F9'' (also known as ''F9: The Fast Saga'' and ''Fast & Furious 9'') is tenth film in ''Film/TheFastAndTheFurious'' series (coming after ''Film/HobbsAndShaw''), though ninth chronologically.

The film sees the Family once more coming to the aid of Mr. Nobody who had managed to capture Cipher, but his plane was shot down en route to transfer her to prison by an unknown party associated with her. Dom especially shows an interest when it's revealed that his younger brother, Jakob (Wrestling/JohnCena), is involved and after a device called the Ares that has been split up and can cause catastrophic consequences if it falls into the wrong hands.

** Mia returns, having not been seen since ''Film/Furious7'', justifying her return as Jakob is her brother as well as Dom's.

* HeroicSacrifice: [[spoiler: Tej and Roman decide to use the last of their fuel to destroy the satellite instead of using it for their return trip. It works out though, with them getting rescued by the International Space Station.]]
* HijackedByGanon: At first it seems like Otto is the BigBad, [[spoiler: until he releases Cipher from her box and fully takes over in the climax.]]
