Tyler’s survival wasn’t in question from the announcement of the sequel, and the image in question does not spoil anything in the film. Trope removed.

* TrailersAlwaysSpoil: Or rather, preview images do. [[spoiler:One of the default images for the movie on Netflix is Tyler wearing a prison jumpsuit. Considering that the first half of the film involves Tyler breaking ''into'' a prison, it's hard not to assume that there's going to be a substantial portion of the movie dedicated to Tyler breaking out/being broken out of prison himself. Turns out, nope: he's shown locked up for a grand total of five minutes at the very end.]] For a sequel to a film where it was left genuinely ambiguous if the protagonist died, this is a rather jarring shift.

The similarities amount to a leather jacket, not enough to be considered a shout out.

* ShoutOut: In the final fight, Zurab is dressed as [[Videogame/Fallout4 Kellogg]].

** A rather ironic one towards the end of the movie: During the final hand-to-hand altercation with the BigBad, Chris Hemsworth reaches for a heavy hammer lying on the floor; but before he can get it, his hand gets hit with a heavy chain.

** Sandro. Tyler and his team go through hell getting him, his mother, and his sister out, and what does he do? Betray them immediately and [[spoiler: get Yaz killed by running to his uncle the first chance he gets. And what's more is that while he later regrets it, he still ends up a KarmaHoudini.]]

* IgnoredEpiphany: [[spoiler:Tyler seems to get through to Sandro just how much Ketevan sacrificed to keep him and his sister safe, with Sandro looking shaken when he confesses to Tyler that he gave away their location to his uncle. However, when confronted about this by his mother, Sandro states that the Nagazi are his family. The epiphany eventually does stick by the time of the final battle, and he pulls of HeelFaceTurn to give Tyler and Nik an opening on Zurab.]]

Fixed name.

* UnresolvedSexualTension: Oodles between Nik and Khan, but the relationship itself stays platonic.
