Spelling/grammar fix(es), Crosswicking

* AnuscapePlan: Just after Holli Would climaxes, her goon squad topple from their wobbly perch and plummet to the ground. The camera focuses on TheBigGuy Bash, screaming in fear. The camera goes into his mouth and travels through his interior, which has only a spinal column and fish ribs. Bash has no visible organs, just empty space, though there is an expy of Gepetto and Pinocchio inside him. The camera zooms toward the sphincter at the end, makes a "foomp" as it passes through, then about-faces to show Bash's bare ass, anus included, continuing his downward plunge. Thank you, Creator/RalphBakshi, for that informative perspective.

* BeTheBall: Holli Would takes Jack Deebs to her favorite nightclub, which has TheBouncer at the door. A literal bouncer, as instead of legs, the man has a rubber ball below the waist, upon which he bounces in place. Jack thinks he recognizes this bouncer as Chico, but the reply is "I ain't no Chico." Holli can pass on sight, but the human Jack Deebs gets nixed, despite Holli vouching for him. "Sorry, doll, no noids." Mildly miffed, Holli points to [[TheBrue Bash]] of the QuirkyMinibossSquad, and states, "See him? He's with me, too." Bash seizes the bouncer, and throws him against the wall so hard that he spends the next hour bouncing off the various surfaces near the entrance.

In 1945, UsefulNotes/WorldWarII veteran Frank Harris (Creator/BradPitt) finds himself transported to the titular place, a surreal, demented alternate universe inhabited by cartoon entities known as "Doodles", after his mother Agatha (Janni Brenn-Lowen) is killed in a motorcycle accident. There, he becomes a police officer tasked with enforcing the Cool World's single law: Noids (real people) do not have sex with Doodles (this being despite the years-long lack of live-action characters inhabiting the Doodles' universe save for himself, indicating that his "job" would simply entail preventing himself from eloping with anyone). This causes him no small amount of torment, as he has fallen in love with a Doodle girl named Lonette (Creator/CandiMilo).

Years later, a disturbed comics artist named Jack Deebs (Creator/GabrielByrne) murders his wife's lover in a fit of passion, and as a result is sent to prison. For escape (of the mental, not physical, type), Jack draws a comic book based on the dreams he is continually having of the Cool World and a voluptuous, realistically-drawn FemmeFatale named Holli Would (Creator/KimBasinger). We first meet Jack when he is being released from prison upon the successful completion of his sentence. Through means that are never adequately explained, Holli manages to pull Jack into the Cool World and seduce him, her goal being to become a Noid and be able to experience the pleasures real people enjoy. Having broken the Cool World's law, however, Jack and Holli start a chain of events that could result in the destruction of the world. It falls on Frank's shoulders to face his devils, return to reality, and save the day.

Rewriting and cleaning up lead section.

A 1992 movie by Creator/RalphBakshi where a cartoonist finds himself in the animated world he created, and is seduced by one of his characters, a comic strip vixen who wants to be real. ''Cool World'' marked Bakshi's return to feature films after nine years. The film was originally pitched in the mid-'80s as ''Bobby's Girl'', an animated horror film about an underground cartoonist who fathers an illegitimate half-real/half-cartoon daughter who hates herself for what she is and tries to kill him. Following years of on-off development, the success of ''Film/WhoFramedRogerRabbit'' led to increased studio demand for live action/animation hybrids, sparking a lengthy and chaotic saga of ExecutiveMeddling that would transform Bakshi's pitch into a bizarre amalgam of Bakshi's trademark grimy, scatological style and an attempted cash-in on the popularity of ''Roger Rabbit''. The finished film proved a critical and financial bomb, effectively sealing Bakshi's retirement from filmmaking for decades afterwards.

The plot itself ([[RandomEventsPlot if you could call it that,]] after all that ExecutiveMeddling) opens with Frank Harris (Creator/BradPitt), a UsefulNotes/WorldWarII veteran who finds himself transported to the titular place, a surreal, demented alternate universe inhabited by cartoon entities known as "Doodles", after his mother Agatha (Janni Brenn-Lowen) is killed in a motorcycle accident. Contrast ''Film/WhoFramedRogerRabbit'' which is LighterAndSofter and involves more notable, pre-existing {{Toon}}s. Not to be confused with Shirley Clarke's movie about young Harlem gangbangers, ''Film/TheCoolWorld''.
