* KansasCityShuffle: A bank is taken over, but no money is taken. This seems to instead be targeted against a Saudi prince who has a personal vault in the bank, but in reality that is misdirection as well. The true reason for the robbery is to install a computer virus into the to system to order it to siphon off funds from the bank.

''Chaos'' is a 2005 action film directed by Tony Giglio. It stars Creator/JasonStatham, Creator/RyanPhillippe and Creator/WesleySnipes.

Chaos follows a veteran CowboyCop detective named Quentin Conners (Staham) and a rookie cop detective named Shane Dekker (Phillippe) as they investigate a bank heist pulled off by a
robber, Lorenz. Connors has been recently disgraced after a botched hostage crisis led to the hostage dying and is mysteriously asked to come to this bank hostage crisis by Lorenz. Connors ends up paired with Dekker, who's trying to live up to his late police officer father's reputation. What follows is a cat and mouse game between the intelligent and high-tech Lorenz and the two police officers. Lorenz reveals cryptic allusions to "Chaos Theory" (defined as there being hidden patterns to seemingly random events) to them which imply that nothing is what it seems.

----
!! Chaos contains examples off:

* AccidentalMurder: The plot is kicked off by Detective Dekker and his partner, Jason York, botching a hostage situation and accidentally killing the hostage.
* AffablyEvil: The bank robber Lorenz is genuinely easygoing and friendly to everyone he talks to. He even ensures that the number of civilian deaths is kept to a minimum.
* AvengingTheVillain: The plot is seemingly kicked off by Scott Curtis, who wants to avenge his criminal brother who died at the hands of Detective Dekker and his partner Jason York. [[spoiler:This is revealed to be an intentional misdirect, as Scott is really York and is impersonating Scott to put the police on a wild goose chase away from his true motivations]].
* BadBoss: The bank Robber Lorenz begins to kill off the members of his crew to tie up loose ends after their bank heist is done.
* TheChessmaster: Lorenz and [[spoiler:Detective Connors]] orchestrate a precise series of events to throw the detectives off their plans to secretly siphon money from the bank accounts at the bank using a computer virus while making them think it's instead an attack against a Saudi official who uses the bank.
* CowboyCop: Detective Quentin Connors is a ruthless police officer who bends the law to get his guy. His gung ho tendencies with his partner lead to the death of a hostage and [[spoiler:this results in him becoming a DirtyCop and bank robber after the disgrace]].

* DetectiveMole: The secret leader of the bank robbers and the one aiding their plans is [[spoiler:none other than detective Quentin Connors, who was assigned to the case]].
* DirtyCop: [[spoiler:Detective Quentin Connors]] is a police officer who has secretly become a bank robber and thief and is using his position to help with his crimes.

* FallenHero: Detectives Quentin Connors and Thomas York were beloved police officers who helped protect the city, but after getting burned due to a botched hostage situation, they have become bank robbers and criminals.
