* TheCameo:
** Creator/RikMayall as the Sultan of Turkey, alongside Nigel Planer as the Wazir.
** Creator/JonPertwee as the Duke of Costa Brava.
** Series regular Creator/JackDouglas as Marco the Cereal Killer.

* FanonDiscontinuity: Many fans disowned it before it was even released, considering that many of the regular actors were either too old or dead at the time. The ones that watched it did eventually disown it, mostly convinced that the replacement actors seemed to be imitating how the regulars would have performed the characters if they were available. The film has since been, like Series/CarryOnLaughing, quietly released on DVD and was (surprisingly) removed from the movie series boxset.
* SelfPlagiarism: Writer Dave Freeman had only ten days notice to deliver a script before the start of filming. With shortness of time, he re-used some material from his rarely seen TV special Carry on Again Christmas.

Carry On Columbus is a 1992 British film, which hoped to revive the popular Film/CarryOn film series from TheFifties-TheSeventies (this was the 31st film in the series, and the first since 1978) with a comic celebration of the 500th anniversary of UsefulNotes/ChristopherColumbus' first transatlantic voyage. Loads of fans were hesitant over the outcome of the film when it was first announced, due to being "screwed over" with the last two failures from the mid-70's.
