* BrainlessBeauty: The gorgeous Stacy and Gina have no idea who Rudy Giuliani is with Gina even mistaking him for Bill Clinton. At the time the film was released in 2003 Rudy Giuliani was at the height of his fame and adulation so the joke is that Stacy and Gina would have to be amazingly clueless to not know him, especially since they ''live'' in New York City.

** Artie Shankman wears saffron-colored bikini briefs under his saffron-colored monk's robe.

* ReformedBully: Played with and ultimately subverted with Artie Shankman, who despite growing up to be a pacifist Buddhist monk repentant for his past turns out to be fairly easily goaded into going back into his bullying ways.

* ArtisticLicenseLaw: While the whole legal mess Dave gets into [[spoiler:is a set-up by Buddy to help him deal with his problems]], you'd think he might have found it at least a little suspicious that the judge orders him to return in three weeks to face charges for assault and battery when he apparently was never arrested by the police for the charges in the first place, nor jailed pending trial.

* ButNotTooBlack: Buddy, since his mom is shown to be black (in a deleted scene). Though since [[CallingParentsByTheirName he calls her "Rose"]] she might not be his biological mother.

* AmbiguouslyGay: Lou, one of the patients in Dave's anger group, dresses and speaks in an effeminate manner, but his sexuality is never confirmed. This is even lampshaded by the fact that his mustache is shaved on one side to resemble a question mark. A DeletedScene hints that Lou is either bisexual or CampStraight, as he is a StalkerWithACrush towards Music/JenniferLopez.

* AngryBlackMan: The air marshal who, for a refreshing change, is angry for a semi-legitimate reason.

** Dave discovers Andrew has one when he stands next to him in a urinal, and nicknames him the "testicle with legs". It only fuels Dave's insecurity since Andrew used to date Linda and Dave himself has a TeenyWeenie.

* RantInducingSlight: The crazy woman Kendra doesn't exactly take it well when Dave tells her not to take off her underwear.
