Dave goes to Miami to produce a record for pop artist Ashley Grey (Creator/BellaThorne), and takes Samantha along with him, leaving the Chipmunks with Miles. Both the trio and Miles agree that they don't want Dave and Samantha to get married, and thus they follow them to Miami. The plane they take is forced into an emergency landing after Theodore releases a bunch of animals, leading to James Suggs (Creator/TonyHale), an Air Marshall who has a personal vendetta against the Chipmunks, to pursue them for the rest of their journey.
