Frankie Del Vecchio, a young Italian American woman, is a singer-songwriter trying to get her break, while she's engaged to aspiring frozen food businessman Tony. She rents a car and finds there's a body in the trunk which Frankie reports. After this, her sister Heather (who's obsessed with the Mafia) convinces her to attend a real mobster's funeral. There, they meet Nicolette, whom unbeknownst to either one is the new Mafia boss's daughter. After Heather invites Nicolette to watch Frankie perform, Nicolette suggests Frankie could make it big on the show ''Mob Hit''. Nicolette, a lesbian, grows quickly attracted to Frankie, who's confused about her feelings. The FBI is investigating meanwhile, and the Mafia are suspicious about Frankie, thinking she's possibly an undercover cop. As danger looms, the two women become closer, and have to get a handle on their feelings.
