* Comments: An AU in which the evil Jadis had ''another'' (benevolent) sister whom she protected from the massacre of Charn and who similarly awakened when the bell was struck, making her rather analogous to the "hope" that was released from Pandora's Box. While this story contains a lot of text lifted from the original book since the events otherwise play out largely the same, the story of Narnia arguably benefits from the addition of the villainess' good sister who ends up being appointed by Aslan as a protector of Narnia against her sister.

* Synopsis: Before the Golden Age of the Pevensies, before the 100 year winter and the rule of the White Witch, before Narnia even existed, there was Digory Kirke and Polly Plummer. Tricked by Digory's Uncle Andrew, the children find themselves on Charn where they meet the last Queen and Princess, and find an adventure. First in the Witch of the Wood series.

Trope is now Sugar Wiki, no non-sugar wicks allowed.

Do warn when a fanfic may head into sexually explicit or [[BetterThanCanon non-canon]] territory. Some people just don't like it, and as we all know, {{Shipping}} is SeriousBusiness.

* Comments: This is the Narnia/Anthony Bourdain crossover I didn't know I needed but can't live without. It reads like a totally weird, off-kilter episode of "No Reservations:" the three part structure, Bourdain's exploration of off-the-beaten-path foods in unusual circumstances (complete with him pitching in to cook with a local), the acerbic and salty observations, the half-travelogue and half-food-show approach -- all masterfully combined and put forth. The writing is killer clever, with lots of great turns of phrase, really catches the feel of Bourdain's manner of speaking perfectly. The control of its lush and complex writing style, leavened with the tongue-in-cheek, is extremely impressive. A must.
