* GoodCostumeSwitch: Tempest's new Liberator deck has many of the same monsters from her Dominator deck, except that these versions now have golden armor, representing how they are freed from the influence of the Dominators.

* PyrrhicVictory: In chapter 15 [[spoiler:Tempest manages to defeat Queen Amphitrite, thus freeing Queen Novo from her Dominate. But in her last moments of control, Amphitrie gives her daughter Princess Rhodos the Water Zenith Dragon, telling her she is the new Omega Zealot of Water, and Rhodos manages to escape with the awakened dragon]].

* HateSink: The Omega Zealots have little to no redeeming qualities to speak of. They use Soulinking, a practice meant to bring humans and Duel Spirits closer together, to [[DemonicPossession steal human bodies for themselves]], with the purpose of using their new physical forms to wreak havoc on our world and eventually destroy it. In addition, they constantly belittle their opponents, mocking them for trying to fight back against them, and even [[KickThemWhileTheyAreDown continually attacking them even after they suffer a major loss]]. In spite of this, whenever the good guys do manage to pull a win, they have the gall to act [[PlayingTheVictimCard as though they're the victims]] [[MoralMyopia and that the treatment they receive is completely unjustified]]. The sole exception to this is [[TokenGoodTeammate Queen Amphitrite]].

Added DiffLines:

* TokenGoodTeammate: Downplayed; Amphitrite, the Atlantean Queen, the Zealot Dominating Queen Novo, still seeks to destroy the human world and the Duel Spirit world. However, unlike the other Zealots, who are only in this plan to save their own lives, Amphitrite joined them with the purpose of creating a peaceful life for her subjects and truly cares about their happiness. She also appears more genuinely AffablyEvil, showing [[VillainRespect legitimate respect for her opponents]], as opposed to the other Zealots' FauxAffablyEvil. This makes her appear slightly more sympathetic by comparison.

* DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything: [[spoiler:The way that Soulinking and Dominating is described almost sounds similar to that of a sexual activity. A Soulink is described as a "great miracle", where a Duelist and a monster they share a close bond with end up SharingABody. It is meant to [[GoodPeopleHaveGoodSex demonstrate the strong bond they share with each other]], due to it being consensual from both sides, and how much they trust each other, as an act of bringing them even closer together. A Dominate on the other hand is when a monster ''forces'' a Soulink on a duelist without their agreement, and [[DemonicPossession takes full control of the body for themselves]]. When this is described to everyone, they find the term "Dominate" to be "violating" and feel sick just hearing it. It is also clear that anyone who has been Dominated is [[RapeIsASpecialKindOfEvil deeply tortured and traumatized by the experience]], and their real partners are all worried over their safety.]]
