* MindScrew: The story grows rather surreal in later chapters. One late-game challenge is a full Star Wars reference, with the characters traveling in starfighters to face "Dolph Vader" in the Death Star, naturally revealed to be AllJustADream at the end. Another features NoCelebritiesWereHarmed appearances such as "Wazz Khalifa" and recurring Music/JustinBieber Expy Dustin Nutria, as well as... Richard Nixon, who is fully alive, somehow knows who PJ is and her full name at that, and claims he "enjoy[s] being creepy."

...in retrospect, however, time has not been kind to [=TDRev=]. When removed from the context of 2011, the story is most notable for its complete lack of plot and characterization, constant pop culture references and lowbrow humor, and choppy, sophomoric writing that's exclusively dialogue-based. As a result, it's still just as well-known as it was in 2011, but for a different reason: it's easy to mock, with a healthy dose of CreatorBacklash. You can read it, if you really want to, here.

Total Drama Revolution is the third story in [=Toadgamer80=]'s WesternAnimation/TotalDrama fanfic series, written in the summer of 2011. Taking place in an ambiguously located metropolis where 20 contestants were to compete for another million dollars, the story was named after the author's belief that it'd "revolutionize" not just the wiki, but the Total Drama fanfiction community at large. Sure enough, the story was beloved when it first came out, winning numerous wiki-based accolades such as "Featured Story" and "Best 2011 Competition Story."

* AmbiguouslyGay: As mentioned above, Ori - he's the only male contestant to not pursue any girls, and he seems very insecure about it. In one scene, he claims he's talking to a (fake) girlfriend, who's actually his father.

* TheGenericGuy: Practically everyone who isn't a pervert, asshole, or lunatic is one of these, including (but not limited to) Abbey, Mattie, [=MacKenzie=], and Antoine.
* HateSink: A few characters in the cast - namely, Elle, Chelsey, and Northworth - were intended as this, being based on "popular kids" who bullied the author in middle school. This backfired and they're now three of the most(/only) liked characters in the story, even by the author.

* NiceGuy: Donny.Donny, usually. [=MacKenzie=] is a NiceGirl, but she's also a FlatCharacter.
* NonIndicativeName: Many of the characters' "stereotypes" do not apply to them at all. Most infamous are Elle, labeled as The Seductress, who spends none of her time seducing and all of her time watching Nebraska Shore, and Kim, The Strategist, who only gets a handful of lines, none having to do with strategy.

!!This story provides examples of:
* AerithAndBob: Characters in the story have names ranging from Kim, Abbey, and PJ to Toad, Kavren, and Northworth.
* AlphaBitch: Chelsey and Elle, two "popular girl" contestants, were designed to be this, but ended up gaining a much larger fanbase than the contestants they mocked.
* BlandNameProduct[=/=]NoCelebritiesWereHarmed: References to these are constant, such as the Wuu! (Wii) and Randy Spamberg and his band "The Lonesome Body of Land Surrounded By Water" (take a guess).
* BrattyHalfPint: Toad, an obnoxious, immature preteen who's competing against 19 teenagers.
* CloudCuckoolander: A few of the less objectionable characters are still just... strange, like Lizza and GRatedStoner Tasia.
* FlatCharacter: Nearly every single character in the story. The only ones who eventually break free are Chelsey, only after returning for Fanfic/TotalDramaSuperstarShowdown and receiving development, and Ori, who wasn't even created by the author.
* TheGenericGuy: Practically everyone who isn't a pervert, asshole, or lunatic is one of these, including (but not limited to) Abbey, Mattie, and Antoine.
* HateSink: A few characters in the cast - namely, Elle, Chelsey, and Northworth - were intended as this, being based on "popular kids" who bullied the author in middle school. This backfired and they're now three of the most(/only) liked characters in the story, even by the author.
* Jerkass: Nearly everyone, from the one-note early outs to the endgamers to Chris [=McLean=] himself.
* KarmaHoudini: Cammy, which is one of the reasons she became widely hated - even after almost murdering Vincent, nothing bad happens to her and she happily reunites with her boyfriend.
* LivingProp: Mattie transcends the Generic Guy label to become one of these.
* SatelliteLoveInterest: After being adamantly against dating for nearly the whole season, Abbey ends up as one of these to Kavren of all people.
* TookALevelInJerkass: Cammy, infamously, who starts out as an underdog nerd character and eventually devolves into Trick-obsessed, whiny, and outright murderous.
