* CosmopolitanCouncil: The Sentinels of Magic consists of ComicBook/DoctorFate, the Ancient One, Professor Albus Dumbledore, ComicBook/MadameXanadu, [[ComicBook/SuicideSquad Enchantress]], [[Characters/ShazamMarvelFamily Shazam]], [[Franchise/FantasticFour Agatha Harkins]], [[Characters/ShazamOthers Ibis the Invicible]], and Sargon the Sorcerer.

* AdaptationOriginConnection:
** Galactus consumed Krypton in this story, and Brainiac helped him with it. Odin, telepathically feeling Krypton's destruction, sent his son Thor to Earth to be reborn, so that he could help defend Earth.
** Captain America's last mission was stopping the Nazi's Project Ragnarok, in which Baron Zemo participated. The Howling Commandos collaborated with [[ComicBook/SgtRock the Easy Company]].
** SHIELD detected the infant Kal-El's arrival on Earth and sent the ComicBook/MenInBlack to investigate.
** Grigori Rasputin (here a cultist of Trigon instead of the Ogdru Jahad) was responsible for bringing not one, but two children of Trigon into the world, Hellboy and Raven. For Raven's birth, he had the help of the Church of Blood, Baron Mordo, and Blackheart.
** ComicBook/ThePhantomStranger was sent to recruit Steven Strange to be the Ancient One's apprentice.
** ComicBook/TheSpectre was the original Spirit of Vengeance, sent by God to punish the evil, before he went mad and started persecuting all magic users, forcing them to form [[Franchise/HarryPotter the Statute of Secrecy]]. Now The Spectre is replaced by ComicBook/GhostRider, his chosen champion.
** ComicBook/TheMask was created by Marvel's Loki to [[KillTheGod kill Thor]].
** Thor grew up on Themyscira with Diana, until the Mask attacked.
** ComicBook/LexLuthor teamed up with ComicBook/TheKingpin and sent Jack Napier, Eel O'Brian and Flint Marko to sabotage ComicBook/NormanOsborn, who was trying to create super soldiers before him.
*** This act of sabotage led to the creation of The Flash, The Joker, Plastic Man, Sandman, Mr. Freeze, Killer Frost, Swamp Thing, Poison Ivy, the Parasite, the Floronic Man, Static, Beast Boy, Beast, Cyborg, Doctor Octopus and Green Goblin...and also cost Curt Connors his arm, putting him on the road to becoming The Lizard.
** ComicBook/DoctorDoom accidentally created himself, ComicBook/TheFantasticFour, The Hulk, Captain Atom, and Firestorm thanks to Rasputin tricking him into making a needless correction to his portal generator's coordinates.
** Dream of the Endless escaped his captivity in the mansion of Alexander Burgess thanks to the Sentinels of Magic.

''The Marvelous World of DC: Part 1: In the Beginning'' is a MassiveMultiplayerCrossover written by Creator/{{Finmonster}} on Fanfiction.net, June 2007. It combines the worlds of Creator/MarvelComics, Creator/DCComics, Creator/VertigoComics, Creator/ImageComics, Creator/DarkHorseComics and Franchise/HarryPotter into one, while re-working the origins of various superheroes such as Franchise/{{Superman}}, ComicBook/TheMightyThor, ComicBook/{{Hellboy}}, ComicBook/DoctorStrange, Franchise/WonderWoman, and more to fit into the new background. * KickTheSonOfABitch: Darkseid torturing Mordru for revealing key names in the Lords of Chaos' plans to the heroes qualifies as this.

* LastOfHisKind: As per canon, Clark Kent is believed to be the last living Kryptonian. Only time will tell whether or not this is true, since General Zod and Supergirl have not appeared yet.
* LateArrivalSpoiler: If you've never read ComicBook/TheSandman, then TheReveal about the Storyteller's true identity at the end of the story- [[spoiler: Daniel Hall, who inherited the title of Dream of the Endless after his mother killed the former Dream]]- will spoil a lot for you.

* AdaptationalDumbass: {{Downplayed|Trope}} with Diana/Wonder Woman. She's not stupid, but she's not an extreme {{Omniglot}} like she is in the comics, and has to rely on her friend Thor to translate English for her. Thankfully, Doctor Strange fixes that problem with his magic.

* DuckSeasonRabbitSeason: The Mask uses these to trick John Constantine into letting him get away. John recognises this.

* HandicappedBadass: Having nerve-damaged hands doesn't stop Stephen Strange from attacking Mordru when he's threatening innocent Muggles with his ImprovisedGolem.

* WolverineClaws: The TropeNamer himself appears in the Second World War, but he doesn't have an adamantium skeleton yet. His claws don't break when clashing with Karl Ruprecht Kroenen's swords, though.

* AdaptationalDumbass: Downplayed with Diana/Wonder Woman. She's not stupid, but she's not an extreme {{Omniglot}} like she is in the comics, and has to rely on her friend Thor to translate English for her. Thankfully, Doctor Strange fixes that problem with his magic.
* AdaptationalHeroism: June Moone/The Enchantress, instead of being a woman possessed by the spirit of an ancient witch prone to running through the HeelFaceRevolvingDoor, is a witch in her own right, and a straightforward hero, too.

* AdaptationalJerkass: In modern Marvel comics, Doctor Doom is depicted as a fair ruler to his people, and very even-minded and respectful towards most of Marvel's heroes-[[BerserkButton apart from Reed Richards, obviously]]. That's not the case here. Doom is blatantly rude and violent towards Bruce Banner, a shameless misogynist, and is implied by Ben Grimm to have killed his father, the former king of Latveria. And since Doom's the only Latverian to appear in the story, we never see him contradict this.

* AdaptationalNiceGuy: Steven Strange, prior to his car accident in Marvel canon, was a [[DrJerk rude, haughty glory-obsessed doctor]]. Here, we learn that he crashed his own car by accidentally-released magic fueled by anger and guilt for botching an operation and costing a little girl her legs.

* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Agent K is ultimately one of these.

* OurGodsAreDifferent: Asgardians and Olympians are the most prominent ones in this story.

** The BPRD is more like a Composite Organisation with ComicBook/JusticeLeagueDark, since its members include ComicBook/JohnConstantine, ComicBook/{{Zatanna}}, ComicBook/{{Etrigan}}, and Detective Chimp.

* CryIntoShoulder: Garfield Logan's response to waking up to find his parents are dead, his friend Victor is hospitalised, and he and his uncle are now both mutants.

* GodIsGood: [[TopGod Odin]], [[MotherGoddess Gaia]], their son [[SuperHeroGod Thor]], [[GodOfThunder Zeus]], and presumably [[LordOfTheOceans Poseidon]] are all gods and all friendly towards their human subjects.

* ImmortalImmaturity: Amora behaves like a SmittenTeenageGirl in Thor's presence, and pouts when he rejects her. Of course, Thor has [[Yandere very]] [[IfICantHaveYou good]] [[MurderTheHypotenuse reasons]] to reject her.

* KillItWithFire: Or at least, Hurt It With Fire, as John Constantine does to Brother Blood with his dragonfire cigarettes.

* LoopholeAbuse: How do the [[Magocracy Sentinels of Magic]] send someone to collect Stephen Strange to start his training to be the next Sorcerer Supreme, but make sure not to alert the Lords of Chaos, who will try to kill him beforehand? They send the Phantom Stranger, who as a FallenAngel is not a Sentinel of Magic, and therefore should be able to reach Strange undercover. Admittedly, the plan doesn't work, because Mordru still cottons on, but good work anyway.

* Necromancer: Fra Totenkinder summons the shade of Sir Lancelot to fight the Clown/the Violator.

* OxymoronicBeing: Loki is both [[AnIcePerson a Frost Giant]] and a [[PlayingWithFire fire god.]]

* PlayingWithFire: Constantine's dragonfire cigarettes, Hellboy's Anung Un Rama mode, Human Torch(both of them), Etrigan, Baron Mordo, Firestorm, Loki, the Ghost Rider.

*** Hera is the sister of Isis of the [[Myth/EgyptianMythology Egyptian pantheon]], but not the sister of Zeus [[BrotherSisterIncest as well as his wife.]]

* SadlyMythtaken: In-series. Thor works out that something doesn't add up about the so-called hammer of Zeus, because the hammer is not mentioned in Themyscira's archives about Zeus, and there's [[UpToEleven not even any depictions of the hammer in the artwork filling Zeus' own temple!]] Of course, this is a JustifiedTrope because the hammer belongs to Thor, kept under Zeus' eye until his nephew is old enough to wield Mjolnir again.

** In "The Masks We Wear Part 1", Loki tells the Amazons, "[[Music/TheRollingStones Please allow me to introduce myself, I'm a man of wealth and taste.]]" The Amazons [[PopCulturalOsmosisFailure don't get it.]]

* VillainousFriendship: They're not truly evil, but Flint Marko and Eel O'Brian are very close friends, as shown by their TakeMyHand/ SayMyName moments when the FreakLabAccident occurs.

* WhamEpisode: The ending of the story reveals that [[spoiler: the Storyteller is actually Daniel Hall, the new Dream of the Endless, and the pub he was telling the story in is The Hog's Head in Hogsmeade, and the teens who heard his story are Hogwarts students.]]

** Played with by ComicBook/Sinestro. While his ArchEnemy Hal Jordan does appear in his starring chapter, he also fights Richard Rider from the Nova Corps, and Agents K and D of the Men In Black, along with a young Clark Kent. He additionally serves as Clark's TokenMotivationalNemesis by killing Agent D.

* KnightTemplar: The Spectre. As far as he's concerned, all MagicIsEvil, and those who use it should be killed. Nobody in-story or out agrees with him.

* DiesDifferentlyInAdaptation: Instead of getting blinded and bringing his own lab down on his head, Baron Zemo dies by falling into the sea after Captain America blows up his plane, [[ImpaledWithExtremePrejudice and taking a ten-foot metal spike through his head]].
** In ''Film/SpiderMan2'', Otto Octavius' wife Rosalie dies in her husband's FreakLabAccident by being perforated by flying glass shards. Here, [[AdaptationNameChange Rosie]] Octavius dies from Jack Napier, the future Joker, shooting her.
** Instead of [[InevitableWaterfall falling off an African waterfall]], Garfield Logan's parents die when pieces of their Oscorp lab ceiling fall on top of them.

* Hera is the sister of Isis of the [[Myth/EgyptianMythology Egyptian pantheon]], but not the sister of Zeus [[BrotherSisterIncest as well as his wife.]]

* RevengeBeforeReason: Mordru's FatalFlaw. After the Lords of Chaos break him out of the Witching Well, he rejects Amora's advice to [[PragmaticVillainy get out of dodge]] [[KnowWhenToFoldThem now that they've got him free]] because he wants to kill Dr. Strange for defeating him in their first confrontation. Because of that, he ends up ultimately losing once Strange sets the Spectre on him, he nearly gets killed, and Diana [[TheStoolPidgeon forces him to reveal the names of key figures in their plans]]. Afterwards, Darkseid brutally punishes the pleading Mordru.
