** Dr. Octopus isn't nearly as prolific as some of the larger criminal gangs fought by the Web Warriors on a daily basis. However, his intelligent patience also meant that when he does step out, what he does is effective and highly dangerous for Spider-Man. He works in the shadows to get final advantages, and by the time of his "[[spoiler: Death]]" has effected the lives of 3 out of the 4 spiders in major ways with death, threats, and global domination.

** Cloak & Dagger makes for a contrast with where Spider-Man and Ghost Spider were in their careers at that time. The spider people have identical powers, while Cloak & Dagger have contrasting Darkness and Light powers. Peter & Gwen are more ordinary high schoolers, while Ty and Tandy are runaways who got mixed up in a bad situation. But on an inverted note, while Ty and Tandy trust each other and work together pretty smoothly, Peter & Gwen have to learn to trust and believe in working together after revealing their identities lead to friction on how capable the other is.
