Chloe makes it obvious that while she ''wants'' to benefit herself by helping Ladybug, when she gets called out on the self serving desire she ultimately concedes that she ''needs'' to do what's best for everyone instead of for herself and accepts that she's ruined any chance of getting what she wants anymore with her selfish actions.

Adrien Agreste knows that Lila Rossi is a liar, but despite Marinette's pleas, he refuses to expose her. He doesn't want to raise tension in the class, doesn't want to responsible for hurting Lila, and he especially doesn't want to risk his own friendships by telling his classmates something they don't want to hear. So instead he keeps his head down and allows Lila's lies to continue unchecked. This spares her from the consequences of being exposed for those lies, but it doesn't fully get rid of those consequences. It seems that fate has a way of looking out for holders of the Ladybug Miraculous, and as Lila's lies and manipulations hurt one such holder, fate intends for her to suffer an appropriate punishment. If Lila is shielded from her punishment by someone else? Well, that punishment will just have to fall on her protector instead.
