* AdaptationalExplanation: When Mario is confronted by an angry [=SMG4=] about why he was made to waste his time playing [[Recap/SMG4MariosMysteries "Mario's Mysteries"]], Mario defends himself by saying he just wanted to have some fun. In the original, he just responded with a BluntYes and nothing more.

! Just like with the storyline this is based off of, there are interconnected plotpoints across multiple episodes and movies, so spoilers from nearly every prior ''[[WebAnimation/Supermarioglitchy4sSuperMario64Bloopers SMG4]]'' story arc up to this point are to be expected, some of which are unmarked. *** The invitation to King Bob's Ballin' Ball is written much more formally than the original's short message with deliberate spelling errors, to the point where "Ballin'" is now more properly spelled as "Balling".

* AdaptationalHeroism: Deconstructed with Depresso. He was never close to the [=SMG4=] crew, first and foremost, and would get annoyed by their antics, even antagonizing them sometimes. He also never does any acts of heroism, to the point where whenever he's [[UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom the cause of an episode's conflict]], he never attempts to fix the problem. All that considered, the trouble he causes for the [=SMG4=] crew is nowhere near as bad as their more personal adversaries like [[WebAnimation/SMG4TheAnimeArc Francis]], [[WebAnimation/Supermarioglitchy4sSuperMario64BloopersGenesisArc Ze]][[WebAnimation/Supermarioglitchy4sSuperMario64BloopersRevelationsArc ro]], [[WebAnimation/Supermarioglitchy4sSuperMario64BloopersTheLawsuitArc Lawyer Kong]], and [[WebAnimation/SMG4MovieWesternSpaghetti One-Shot Wren]], and if he really did know what Mr. Puzzles was up to, then his attempt to warn the [=SMG4=] crew would have been the first nice thing he did for them... if he hadn't gotten struck by lightning for his troubles.

*** The reason why Depresso was rushing to the castle in such a hurry was because he was trying to stop Mr. Puzzles. There was no such indication in the original despite what some fans have theorized, and ''WebAnimation/SMG4MoviePUZZLEVISION'' ends the arc before this fact could be proven.

''The Greatest TV Show Ever'' is an [[WebAnimation/Supermarioglitchy4sSuperMario64Bloopers SMG4]] fanfiction written by Creator/CVGWJames, retelling the events of the Puzzlevision Originals, as well as the one episode leading up to it. Join the [=SMG4=] crew as they are sucked into Mr. Puzzles' dimension, forced to act in his shows against their will.

You can read the story on Website/FanFictionDotNet [[https://www.fanfiction.net/s/14342128/1/SMG4-The-Greatest-Show-Ever here]], or on Website/DeviantArt [[https://www.deviantart.com/cvgwjames/gallery/91634570/smg4-the-greatest-tv-show-ever here]].
!!''The Greatest TV Show Ever'' contains examples of:

** Four examples regarding [[Recap/SMG4NoTVMakeMarioNoOkieDokie "No TV Make Mario No Okie Dokie"]]:
*** The reason why Depresso was rushing to the castle in such a hurry was because he was trying to stop Mr. Puzzles. There was no such indication In the original despite what some fans have theorized, and ''WebAnimation/SMG4MoviePUZZLEVISION'' ends the arc before this fact could be proven.
*** The [=SMG4=] gang get to sing more of "Mario be playin' T-Dub" before the power goes out.
*** ''Monopoly: Fed Ex Edition'' is seen being properly played by the [=SMG4=] gang, instead of being brushed aside via a time card gag.
*** Most importantly, Mr. Puzzles taking the [=SMG4=] gang to his world is shown in full when the events of the episode come to a close. Other chapters see him dragging in characters that weren't featured in the episode, including Shroomy and Melony.
** Mr. Puzzles is seen watching over his "actors" during the events of his productions, not unlike in [[Recap/SMG4sMarioBloopersWarOfTheFatItalians2023 "War of the Fat Italians 2023"]], or [[Fanfic/PaisanoRoyale the author's retelling of the events leading up to it]].
** Musical numbers tend to either be given additional lyrics ("TV Time" and [=SMG3's=] sugar daddy song) or actual lyrics (Fishy Boopkins' toilet song).
** Meggy and Melony serve as assistants to [=Witch!SMG4=]. Neither character had such a role (or a role at all) in [[Recap/SMG4OnceUponAnSMG4 "Once Upon an SMG4"]].
* AesopAmnesia: Tari suddenly reverting back to being a LovableCoward after learning to be brave in ''[[WebAnimation/SMG4MovieWesternSpaghetti WESTERN SPAGHETTI]]'' also applies to the original version of [[Recap/SMG4NoTVMakeMarioNoOkieDokie "No TV Make Mario No Okie Dokie"]], but here, it gets discussed.
* {{Bowdlerize}}: Instead of a sugar daddy, Princess [=SMG3=] now yearns for a "sugary prince". He also no longer talks about being his bitch in his IWantSong.
* CallBack: While the RoomFullOfCrazy in [[Recap/SMG4NoTVMakeMarioNoOkieDokie "No TV Make Mario No Okie Dokie"]] was already similar to the one in ''[[WebAnimation/SMG4MovieItsGottaBePerfect IT'S GOTTA BE PERFECT]]'', here it's explicitly referenced... with [=SMG4=] getting some pretty bad flashbacks.
* CanonWelding: [=SMG4's=] community posts showing Mr. Puzzles reacting badly to his shows not receiving 5-star ratings are implemented into the author's retelling of the saga. Justified, as Mr. Puzzles' desire for said ratings is a big part of his character.
* CompressedAdaptation: The events of [[Recap/SMG4TheDayMyArmWentPsycho "The Day My Arm Went Psycho"]] are quickly brushed through via Tari explaining it all to Meggy during the events of [[Recap/SMG4NoTVMakeMarioNoOkieDokie "No TV Make Mario No Okie Dokie"]] (which is what she did offscreen in the original episode).
* EuphemismBuster: One new scene added to [[Recap/SMG4MariosMysteries "Mario's Mysteries"]] is Mr. Puzzles offering his... [[DontExplainTheJoke let's call it input]] when watching [=SMG4=] direct the audience's attention to the "thinking couch".
--> '''Mr. Puzzles:''' Just like the thinking chair from the original ''Blue's Clues''.
* ShoutOut: When trying to sell electricity to Mario like in [[Recap/SMG4NoTVMakeMarioNoOkieDokie "No TV Make Mario No Okie Dokie"]], he screams [[Recap/SpongeBobSquarePantsS1E1HelpWantedReefBlowerTeaAtTheTreedome "I NEEEEEEEEEEEEEED IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT!!!"]], which he doesn't do in the original.
* SparedByTheAdaptation: Luigi is not sacrificed during the events of [[Recap/SMG4NoTVMakeMarioNoOkieDokie "No TV Make Mario No Okie Dokie"]].
* SuddenVideoGameMoment: The war zone that Mario and [=SMG4=] "blue skidoo" into during [[Recap/SMG4MariosMysteries "Mario's Mysteries"]] now contains captions not out of place for a video game at the end of Chapters 14 and 15.
* ThisIsGonnaSuck: One new addition to [[Recap/SMG4NoTVMakeMarioNoOkieDokie "No TV Make Mario No Okie Dokie"]] is, when Meggy proposes who gets to go to the basement via a game of TabletopGame/{{Monopoly}}, [=SMG4=] dreading that it won't bode well.
* TheUnreveal: Who was originally set to play the fairy godmother in [[Recap/SMG4OnceUponAnSMG4 "Once Upon an SMG4"]] before Mr. Puzzles decided on taking the role for himself?
