During a combat simulation he has a HeroicBSOD and remember the Fall, causing him to turn berserk on the holo-grimm, passing the test and cementing his place at Beacon. Consequently, the Cardin blackmail plotline doesn't happen and Jaune doesn't train at night with Pyrrha.

His Leadership, Aura Levels, Semblance, and skills have all increased, and his arsenal is expanded with the inclusion of Ironwood’s HandCannon and Wilt and Blush.

In this WebAnimation/{{RWBY}} story by [[https://www.fanfiction.net/u/1181620/PaulXion Paulxion]], the story starts during the finale of Volume 3 specifically around episode 9 the Fall of Beacon and Vale went from bad to worse. Simply put, during the prologue implies that Penny was hacked and destroying Atlas, Mistral, and Vacuo airships, Team RWBY went missing, the White Fang, hacked androids, and Grimm besieged all of Vale, and the Huntsman of Beacon were down to there last few survivors. Jaune, in the thick of the battle, was saved from death by Raven. Using her powers, she sliced a rift in time and entrusted Jaune with the task of changing the past and protect her daughters Yang and Ruby so the loop doesn't happen again. Jaune suddenly wakes up on the floor of an airship just in time for his first day at Beacon Academy...

The story then becomes example of a subverted PeggySue: despite Jaune returning from an apocalyptic future, he doesn't have any of the future memories associated to similar works. Instead, Jaune is still like his canon counterpart with only a couple but significant differences: substantial amounts of aura, above average combat skill, and [[spoiler: Black Dust]]. As a result, Jaune and the rest of the RWBY cast start to take a more proactive response/approach towards old/canon and new events and relationships established by the canon, leading to many deviations especially leading up to canon Volume 3 finale that fundamentally changes the post-Volume 3 setting.

Also, Jaune's aura is so dense and potent he is able to heal physical and spiritual wounds to himself and others such as when he fully recovered Amber and potentially "heal" Penny's sister and template, Penelope in a future chapter.]]
*** Semblance: [[spoiler: Jaune's semblance in the story is what is dubbed by Oobleck as a "Smart-Shield" officially Reflector after experimentation Oobleck stated that Jaune's vast aura reserves and semblance is intricately connected, stating that: "The bigger the bullet...the bigger the gun needs to be.
