* ActionGirl: Pretty much every female character. Lilith, Ashley, and Maya are the most obvious examples, but there's also [[spoiler: Doctor Michel]]. Tali also shows herself to be one, as does Matriarch Moxxi.

* LudicrousGibs: Pretty much half the action involves mooks getting blown to pieces in increasingly ridiculous ways. Justified, considering many of the characters seem to like [[{{BFG}} Torgue]] and [[HandCannon Jakobs weaponry]] [[StuffBlowingUp to other gear]], with the exception of our two Sirens, who seem to like Maliwan [=SMGs=] for the elemental bonuses.

** Axton, Garrus, Vega, and Bloodwing pull one after killing Nassana's mercenary sister and deciding to kill Nassana herself for either stiffing them on the paycheck or trying to have them killed.

* CompositeCharacter: Certain characters have traits of characters from both series. According to the author, the Vault Hunters have a combination of the various backstories of Shepard (Roland was present at Torfan; Lilith was born a Spacer; Brick was at Akuze[[note]]where WordOfGod says he may or may not have punched ''multiple'' thresher maws to death[[/note]]; Salvador was on Mindoir during the batarian raid; Axton was at Elysium during the Skyllian Blitz) and Roland's last name is Taylor, the same as Jacob. Aside from them, Handsome Jack is combined with The Illusive Man (combining both their names to become "Handsome" Jack Harper) and Henry Lawson as the father of Miranda and Oriana, with [[spoiler:Angel]] serving as his equivalent of [[spoiler:EDI, despite ''technically'' not being an AI]]; Udina has elements of Sir Hammerlock (with bits of NickFury thrown in), Chloe Michel seems to be channeling Dr. Zed (or perhaps his [[RunningGag totally not-made-up brother Dr. Ned]]), and Matriach Atheyta and Mad Moxxi are merged into one asari barkeep with a purple top hat - which has some ''implications'' regarding Liara's family tree. Liara herself seems to be combined with Patricia Tannis as she's described as wearing a reddish-brown coat and [[GogglesDoNothing goggles on her forehead]]. Garrus also has a cybernetic version of Bloodwing to go with his FriendlySniper personality, though it's not clear if Mordecai is really combined with him or not ... and Garrus' Archangel persona on Omega is instead taken up by Salvador (alias "The Mountain King").

They make massive amounts of money not by building anything, but by taking existing tech and making it ''better''.

* OneManArmy: Most of the characters. Particular note goes to Lilith, who manages tow ipe out dozens of Crimson Lance singlehandedly, Salvador, who turns the entire invasion of Mindior back by himself, and Gaige, who - with some help from her [[RobotBuddy Robot Buddies]], manages to [[spoiler: singlehandedly destroy Saren's Virmire research/cloning base ''by accident'', without even knowing what it was there for.]]

* NGOSuperpower: Most of the megacorporations. Also, Baron Flynt's pirate armada, which is so huge that he has [[Webcomic/SchlockMercenary a team of accountants to keep track of all the accountants who keep track of his men.]]

** Garrus [[spoiler: decapitating Dahlia Dantius]] with an explosive round.
