After Shirou's climactic battle with Gilgamesh at the end of ''Unlimited Blade Works'', he, Archer, and Gilgamesh are all pulled into the Grail. As the victor of the Holy Grail War, the Grail acts to grant Shirou's wish of becoming a hero, and sends him to the world of ''Manga/MyHeroAcademia'' along with Archer, Gilgamesh, and Angra Mainyu. It also [[FountainOfYouth reduces Shirou's age]] so that he can attend UA.

*** In the first round of the final event at the U.A Sports festival, she wins against Tokoyami, while her canon counterpart loses and starts to lose self-confidence.

* AdaptationalVillainy: [[spoiler:Backdraft is revealed to have done contemptable things such as intentionally starting fires and interfering with firefighters' ability to respond in order to break out into the Pro Hero scene due to the fact that his Quirk would've done nothing for him as firefighters were doing a good job that imitating them would just get him flak. Stain and Spinner learn this from torturing people he bribed or extorted in helping him and subsequently kill the corrupt hero.]]

* BadassFamily: Of course, the Takeyama family is a badass family with Yu, who Izuku noted to be one of the best and versatile upcoming heroes even with her [[GiantWoman Gigantification]] Quirk, and her adopted son Shirou, who his classmates considered to be the best at fighting among all the U.A.first-year students. Both of them manage to defeat the HeroKiller Stain together.

* BewareTheNiceOnes: Shirou is, as in Canon, incredibly polite and mild mannered. He also is capable of deflecting bullets with swords, cracking a grown man's skull, and defeating a Nomu designed to defeat All Might. Katsuki Bakugo learned this during their match in the Sports Festival when he pushed Shirou into projecting Gae Bolg.

* CallBack: Bakugo berates Monoma for being a [[PowerCopying copycat]] who can't train his Quirk and is only as strong as other person's Quirk. Having enough of it, Shirou quoted the same line he had used when he, the faker, fought against Gilgamesh, the original.

* CoverBlowingSuperpower: To pass his abilities off as a Quirk, Shirou only makes simple weapons with no special abilities. Since most Quirks are only one ability, he realizes if he makes complex Noble Phantasms or uses Reinforcement too much, that will raise a lot of questions. A few people still get suspicious because in the MHA world, nobody really practices or teaches swordsmanship or archery anymore, so they wonder how this kid is so skilled.

* DoWellButNotPerfect: This is Shirou's mindset going into the UA Sports Festival, believing that there's no point in going all out in a situation where there's no cost/reward. He gets multiple [[WhatTheHellHero telling offs]] for not considering his classmates feelings about the festival feeling that he's looking down on them by not giving it his all.

* FirefighterArsonist: Its revealed that the Firefighter-themed hero [[AdaptationalVillainy Backdraft]] has been secretly intentionally starting fires and then putting them out afterward [[EngineeredHeroics to gain fame]]. Therefore, Spinner and the HeroKiller Stain decide to end his life.

* ForWantOfANail:
** When Gilgamesh snared Shirou's arm with his Enkidu chain to prevent himself from falling into the Grail, he then decided to snare a nearby tree when Shirou threatened to cut his own arm off. Gilgamesh accidentally snared Archer before he could shoot him, resulting in all three of them falling into the Grail and the Grail responding to Shirou's wish.
** Due to Shirou saving her from Angra Mainyu, Uwabami writes a recommendation letter to U.A. for him. However, he refuses it. Since Uwabami has already written it and told her gals that she has recommended someone, she decides to find someone else to recommend. She finds Shinso, a teenager with the Mind Control Quirk who has been treated harshly by society due to his 'villainous' Quirk, and recommends him after he helps her capture some villains. Seeing that Shinso has a Quirk that can resolve situations peacefully but can't pass the heroes' entrance exam and that society misunderstands him, she tries to reform the heroes' entrance exam with the help of other heroes.
** After fighting Shirou, knowing his ideals, and talking with Angra Mainyu about their ideals, Stain decides to join the League of Villains. This is unlike his canon self, who hates the idea of joining.
** Due to uptick in Japanese villainy, the I-Island Expo is canceled, completely demolishing [[Anime/MyHeroAcademiaTwoHeroes David Shield's plans]], however, he is contracted by Nezu to help investigate how Eijiro's "Red Riot Unbreakable" is able to defend against Angra Mainyu's Black Blood. Melissa comes with him, transferring to U.A. in order to finish her education.

* TheGlovesComeOff: After having enough of Bakugo berating him many times for not taking the U.A. Sports festival seriously, Shirou decides to let loose, brings out Gae Bolg and then quickly rushes Bakugo, giving him no chance to fight back.

* HeroicBSOD: Oh... poor Kirishima, after getting hit with the Beast's Noble Phantasm point blank and infected with his blood, any times anyone mentions the Beast, he would go uncharacteristically silent. The mention of the Beast in Hosu city, the city he interned in, makes him have a nervous breakdown. [[spoiler:Fortunately, he gets his bearing back in chapter 36 - "A Maddeningly Stained Sword", with the added bonus of unlocking "[[NighInvulnerability Unbreakable]]" earlier than canon and the ability to slowly regenerate himself]].

** Yu Takeyama is given a much expanded role, where she is shown to be surprisingly responsible underneath her vain, attention-seeking persona. She initially adopts Shirou to keep him out of a juvenile correction center, but quickly grows to care for him as if he was her own.

** {{Implied}}. Shirou muses if he had picked up the call from Yu questioning him if he had sex before in the booth where his classmates were, it would be utter chaos. His teenage classmates would toss everything out of the window to interrogate him.

* ImplicitPrison: After choosing to go to U.A, Shirou now must live and be monitored at all times there. While Nezu states it's would ensure Shirou's safety and Shirou still gets what he needs and is able to pursue his education at U.A, Shirou still likens his situation to a caged bird.

* {{Irony}}: Stain, whose goal is to rid of false Heroes that tainted true heroism, [[spoiler: gets himself [[IncrediblyLamePun stained]] by All of Humanities Evil.]]

* LethalChef: Downplayed, as Yu admits that she has no cooking experience outside of instant meals. She will occasionally mix up sugar for salt, over-spice the dish or some other plausible mishap. Her cooking lessons under Shirou have been mitigating this but it's acknowledged that she's far and away from someone who can cook without the recipe near her.

* MortonsFork: After being accused of being a traitor by the hero society, Shirou must choose to either live and be monitored at U.A or remain at home with Yu while being monitored by officers coming for daily check-ins, private investigators, and the media. Either way, this limits his movements, making taking action against the League of Villains quite hard.

* NighInvulnerable: After unlocking "Red Riot: Unbreakable", David Shield notes that Kirishima is able to defend himself against the Beast's Black Blood. Note, he isn't ''cured'' of the black blood and still needs to undergo surgury, it's just the defensive power of Unbreakable let's him [[NoSell ignore it]].

** Downplayed. When fighting against The Beast[=/=]Angra Mainyu, the pro heroes seriously have a hard time due to all damage they have done to him will be reflected back to them, but the damage done by undirect means[[note]]Drowning, asphyxiation, or making debris fall on to him.[[/note]] can't be reflected back by him and he still can be restrained. It's still easier said than done though due to his HealingFactor, the massive power boost that he gains through possessing a Nomu body and his notorious fame.

** Due to Shirou having a shit reputation with the public, Aizawa advised him not to fail nor defeat Endeavor in his practical exam but to [[ScrewThisImOuttaHere run away]], advice that Shirou agreed with. ''...Only for Endeavor to seal the exit by melting buildings around it at the start of the exam'', forcing Shirou to fight him head on.

** Kirishima, normally a boisterous HotBlooded hero in training, is noted to be subdued, quiet and almost brooding after his encounter with Angra Mainyu at USJ. It's implied that the latter's black blood is amplifying Kirishima's insecurities an nth degree.

* RevealingCoverup: Yu suspects that Endeavor knows something about Archer[=/=]Farran because any information about the latter is being kept secret through the former's influence. Archer's interactions with Endeavor's daughter only adds more fuel to the fire.

* ScrewTheRulesIHaveConnections: Endeavor forced Nezu to let him participate in the practical exam against Shirou one on one by using his connection as the second-ranked hero of Japan to gain more information about Shirou and Archer forcibly from Shirou.

** Since that day he saw Archer destroying a forested hill, Endeavor has been obsessed with uncovering his secret. So, when he notices Shirou has a resemblance to Archer, he uses his influence to dig up his past and forces Nezu to let him fight Shirou one on one, just to get closer to the truth.

** ZigZagged. The HeroKiller Stain deemed Shirou as someone more worthy to become a hero than any other due to Shirou's conviction to save anyone until his last breath, but also considered him unworthy as a hero because Shirou would save anyone, including false heroes and villains, without a care in the world.

** Unless it's a life or death situation, Shirou only creates simple dulled weaponry, but doesn't use his other magecraft such as reinforcing his own body and weaponry, launching weaponry like a bullet, and using his destructive Noble Phantasms. However, after getting a pep talk from Yu, Shirou decides to use more of his magecraft, but still only uses Noble Phantasms in dire situations.

* WithGreatPowerComesGreatInsanity: [[spoiler: After being overwhelmed by All of the World's Evil]], Stain gets a power boost akin to a lower-end Servant while losing all of his rationality. He's durable enough to tank a spike that smashed him through a rooftop and a stomp that shattered the road below from [[GiantWoman Mt Lady]]. And strong enough to lift her feet to escape. He's also howling like a mad man and biting down Shirou like an animal.

** Shirou remembers all his fighting skills and magecraft, but is hindered by his smaller body and his underdeveloped muscles and Magic Circuits. He has to slowly learn how to reopen his Magic Circuits. He muses that if he had his older body, he would have defeated Angra Mainyu with ease.

* YourDaysAreNumbered: Due to never replenishing his magical energy [[spoiler: after fighting against his past self Shirou, Archer starts to fade away. Although he isn't too sad about it, he laments that not everyone can have a happy ending]].

** Tenya Iida's glasses and uptight personality reminds Shirou of Issei Ryuudou.

** Yu Takeyama's mannerism and action also reminds Archer of Taiga Fujimura, both of them are loud and headstrong woman.

* AmbiguousSituation: One that is constantly lampshade is how will Unlimited Blade Works interact with Quirks that interact with other Quirks, such as Aizawa's Erasure or Monoma's Copy? Will they affected it, or will Shirou NoSell it, revealing his otherworldly origins?

* CultureClash: A mild form of this occurs when Shirou first arrives in the MHA world, where his methods -- which are comparatively soft by Nasuverse standards -- are seen as extreme and borderline villainous.
