* DeliberateValuesDissonance: Mostly hinted at initially until the Foreign Exchange arc, but its regularly demonstrated that the values held in Japan, particularly their Hero industry, are much different from the rest of the world, largely due to the HPSC actively preventing any form of systematic change in favor of using a system first established a hundred years ago for the sake of maintaining control, and only avoiding intervention from the WHA thanks to having been established long before them and abusing said fact to retain autonomy until their fall. 1-A visiting Germany calls forth some notable distinctions in particular:
** The way Heroes are ranked vastly differs between Japan and the rest of the world. In Japan, Hero rankings and payment are dependent on both public approval and cases solved, resulting in a toxic work environment in which one has to push themselves and walk over others just to maintain relevance, as even a brief sabbatical or controversial action can result in their rank plummeting. Izumi even notes that the system Japan uses is considered "archaic" by most standards, with the only other nation using it being North Korea. The rest of the world instead has Heroes categorized as multiple "classes" based on details like effectiveness or strength, with only the Top 100 Heroes having a numerical rank, the pay rate being based on what class you are, and the overall "ranking" is solely based on approval ratings and independent of everything else, meaning even a "F" Rank student could be in the Top 10. The German Heroes "Sukkubus" and "Blitz" are cited as an example, as while Sukkubus is one of the only seven "SS" ranked Heroes in the world and therefore much stronger than the "A" Rank Blitz, Blitz is the Number 1 German Hero thanks to much more consistent approval ratings and a larger presence in the public eye.
** Crime rates outside of Japan are much higher, largely due to the presence of Toshinori as "All Might" acting as a deterrent against villains. When Toshinori formally announces his retirement, Japan's crimerate skyrockets, stated to now be comparable to the rest of the worlds, but is something Japan itself is not ready for due to having grown complacent after relying on All Might, resulting in plenty of Heroes either retiring, quitting, or dying.
** Quirks in Japan are largely classed as either "Heroic" or "Villainous", with those possessing "Villainous" Quirks like Hitoshi's "Brainwashing" or Himiko's "Transform" facing societal stigma as being potential villains, a deliberate move by the HPSC to birth new villains for their Heroes to fight. This distinction is not as prevalent in other nations, Quirks instead being categorized as multiple different classifications and having specialists for multiple kinds, such as Europe classifying those whose Quirks are dependent on consuming blood to function as "Vampire" Quirks, Kaina even asking Seras and Rip for assistance in helping Himiko with her Quirk and the two considering her an unofficial "Vampire".

** The whole concept of a "Symbol of Peace" is regularly torn apart in terms of practicality and logistics long before any of the canon issues that came from it could occur. In addition to highlighting how, by making himself into the symbol, Toshinori unintentionally gave the public unrealistic expectations of him and made any potential successor likely to be viewed as a SketchySuccessor, his means of trying to have Izumi initially be his replacement just put a lot of pressure of her shoulders, made worse by her already fragile mental state. Even after he realized the latter though, his attempts at trying to make the students ready for his inevitable retirement, while well-intentioned, were beyond feasible, and just put a lot of pressure on students before they should even have to worry about that. Everyone who finds out about this such as Durandal, Kaina, and , while understanding of Toshinori's reasoning, can all agree the idea of having any one person try to take his place is doomed to fail regardless of who they are, since they won't be another "All Might". Something that's proven right when Toshinori does retire to conserve his remaining time limit, with many viewing the new Number 1, Moe Kamiji/"Burnin", as an SketchySuccessor, Villain attacks highly increasing due to "All Might" no longer being around to deter them, and Izumi unintentionally suffering a lot more due to being caught in many of those Villain attacks and being scrutinized by the public as both a potential better choice for the new Number 1, and lambasted as a fake or inferior to "All Might".

This is explained InUniverse as the characters not partaking in the three-sided war between Hellsing, Millennium, and Iscariot, but rather being the descendants of those that did, said war taking place during the "Dark Age of Quirks". This is most notable with those aligned with Millennium, now "Millennium Academy", with Rip Van Winkle being the Pro-Hero "Jägerin" and having a friendly rivalry with Seras and Heinkel, and "The Captain" acting as the Vice-Principal and showing a gentler side when comforting Kleiner. That being said, they are still quite eccentric, and some like Zorin Blitz are still notably AxCrazy, they're just directing that towards Villains.

* CerebusSyndrome: The "Dr. Necro" situation was already a ChekhovsGun with the knowledge it was backed by The Therapist, but it's made a lot more severe once Class 1-A actually visits Germany for the foreign exchange program. Berlin and everything north of it, including parts of Poland, is dead, the very life drained from the land by the zombies. The city of Berlin itself was rendered inhospitable, to the point the German government relocated their offices to Hamburg. And while attempts are being made to try and restore it, its a genuine concern that the damage was irreparable.

* AdaptationalSympathy: The cause of the Meta Liberation Army is treated with more nuance here than in canon, where they were treated more akin to an overzealous militia that turned into BombThrowingAnarchists. The leading members are shown to be decent people on their own with a genuine desire for societal reform thanks to the HPSC restricting Quirk usage for so long in the name of maintaining control, seeking more political means of swaying others to their cause rather than just plotting a flat out revolution, and any actions more akin to their canon acts being the fault of a splinter group of radicals whose actions set back the main movement into the present day. It helps that they are more frequently given a SympatheticPOV thanks to Chitose being a regular member of the secondary cast. While still technically a group of radicals by legal standards, they're far less villainous compared to canon as a result.

* EveryoneHasStandards: Despite seeming like they'd have Quirkest beliefs, particularly considering what Chiharu went through, the upper echelons of the Meta Liberation Army despise Quirkism, believing all Quirks have the potential to achieve greatness. They likewise despise discrimination against Quirkless people, with Rikiya highlighting how Quirkless people were once the majority, achieved many great things, and someone Destro fought for just as much as the oppressed Quirked, with disparaging them making them no better than the mob that killed the Mother of Quirks.

** The vestige of the 2nd User of One For All, while still surly, serious, and not thinking Izumi is a good choice for a successor, is more willing to give her the benefit of the doubt, helped by his Quirk being the first one she unlocks and in turn giving him more of an opportunity to interact with her. What's more, his disapproval is hinted to be a mix of being a tsundere and AngerBornOfWorry, as Izumi could tell he looked more sad than angry at her, likely due to knowing all she's suffered and not wanting to place the burden of One For All on her shoulders. It eventually reaches the point where he becomes akin to an overprotective father for Izumi, the other vestiges needing to calm him down whenever someone hurts Izumi or makes her uncomfortable in any capacity. Not that they're any safer from him, as his attempts to clock Hikage and Daigoro demonstrate.
--->Third: (After Katsuragi gropes Izumi) Second, please stop planning murder! You've got your murder-planning face on.
--->Second: I'm not planning murder, I'm just planning to maim or seriously injure someone. If she dies because of it then it's her own fault for not seeking medical attention.

* CallForward: During the Cavalry Battle, Izumi can hear the 2nd User commenting about Yuga Aoyama's "Naval Laser" Quirk, saying it seemed familiar to him. Not only is this in reference to the fact that said Quirk used to belong to All For One, but doubles as foreshadowing that Yuga is still the UA Traitor here.

* NotSoAboveItAll:
** The vestiges of the past One For All users may be serious-minded most of the time, but they quickly prove to be just as goofy as everyone else once Izumi starts HearingVoices. Such as using the fire Izumi lit under herself to roast marshmallows. Or Daigoro admitting to having used "Black Whip" during sex while either the 2nd or 3rd declare a need for BrainBleach after witnessing Nemuri's Sex Ed. class.
** The Staff of UA all partake in secret betting pools regarding the students, one of which being their love lives. Nemuri in particular loves betting in that one, currently betting that the "Snuggle Squad" will become a polycule.

* IdentityAmnesia: Due to being trapped in "All For One" for so long, none of the Quirks originally belonging to remember who they were in life, and identify solely as their Quirk names now. [[spoiler:When Izumi realizes "Glyphs" is more than likely a Schnee and offers to look into her identity, Glyphs declines the offer, stating whoever they were when alive, they died long ago and are not who the Quirks are anymore.]]

* WorthIt: Even though the immediate aftermath was him turning her into paste, Nana admits giving a MegatonPunch to All For One's crotch was this if only because she got to hear him make a high-pitched scream.

* ChubbyChaser: Hisashi is Trope to be one, as he can't help but look a little disappointed after Inko is hit with the FountainOfYouth, since she's no longer as "cuddly".

* WhenYouComingHomeDad: Hisashi Midoriya loves his wife and daughter and would love nothing more than to always be there for them, but working for the Yaoyorozu company at their lunar base means he's rarely ever home, not helped by the ludicrous prices for a round-trip ticket between Japan and the Moon being way above his paygrade. As such, he has to settle for video calls with them and regularly sending gifts. Izumi doesn't mind too much, as she wants her dad to follow his dream of working on the moon, but there are times she laments not having him around and missing him.

* ChekhovsGun: During her meeting with Gumball and Shit Post regarding Lynx, Chitose mentions how she is on a deep cover mission on the Lunar Colony, with Gumball telling her about a series of mysterious disappearances and murders on the colony that claimed two of their deep cover agents, both having died of cyanide poisoning, Chitose brushing it off due to being irrelevant to her investigation into Lynx. spoiler:Said murders become much more relevant when, six chapters later, Hisashi disappears and is found dead the following chapter, this time via torture, and Gumball turns up dead via cyanide poisoning, despite still being on Earth.

* DroppedABridgeOnHim: After having last been present for the Sports Festival, is killed, revealed as the latest in a series of murders .

* UniformityException: Among the many disappearances and murders of people on the Lunar Colony, the only trait the Lunar Police can find to link them all together is that they either lived in or are from Japan. Tomoyasu Chikazoku/"Skeptic" however states that, with one exception, all of them were deep cover Meta Liberation Army members, causing the MLA top brass to believe someone is hunting them. As for the one exception, , is explicitly noted to not be part of the MLA, was tortured to death rather than killed via cyanide poisoning, and no one can figure out why they were killed.

Something that's proven right when Toshinori does retire to conserve his remaining time limit, with many viewing the new Number 1, Moe Kamiji/"Burnin", as an InadequateSuccessor, Villain attacks highly increasing due to "All Might" no longer being around to deter them, and Izumi unintentionally suffering a lot more due to being caught in many of those Villain attacks and being scrutinized by the public as both a potential better choice for the new Number 1, and lambasted as a fake or inferior to "All Might".

* ShipTease: Aside from the amorycule and Kyoka and Denki's RelationshipUpgrade, Yui is confirmed to have feelings for Hitoshi, and Mina has her eyes on Eijiro.

* ShipSinking: Mina had feelings for Eijiro, but that relationship doesn't pan out [[spoiler:since Eijiro is gay, in a relationship with Tetsutetsu, and already knew about Mina's feelings but couldn't bring himself to tell her the truth.]] The two agree to remain friends however after the fact.

*** Tomura's attack on the Rankings itself is undone thanks to one person being present that he thought would have no reason to be there: Izumi, having been invited by Rumi as part of her VIP section. Izumi, thoroughly fed up with the endless Villain attacks, proceeds to effortlessly defeat all of the Nomu Tomura sent there, including Hood which sends rocketing into orbit before it can even hurt anyone, and nearly attacked Tomura in a feral rage had Kurogiri not stepped in.

*** The President in turn decides to call in a favor, by calling Endeavor and offering to have him become the new Number 1... only for it to blow up in her face, as Enji only ever worked with them due to them blackmailing him over what he did to his family, and not only do they no longer have that on him, but he doesn't want the position anyway, since he wouldn't have earned it himself. Their attempts at trying to entice him with giving him back his family just enrages him too, since he doesn't want to hurt them anymore and thinks it's for the best they stay away from him. The RAFT agent they sent with the offer then tries to spoiler:covertly leave a bomb in his office after he refuses, but Enji catches on to it and makes him take, a HumanoidAlien working with Enji confirmed what it was and making Enji fully on guard should the HPSC approach him again.
