* KickTheSonOfABitch: Bridges [[DeadlyEuphemism introduces]] the older poacher who tried to kill Sobek to Carnifex. Given the callousness of the poacher's reasons for hunting the old Spinosaurus, it's probably one of the only good things Bridges has done in the entire fic.

* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: Elise has Trypanophobia after her time in the labs, particularly when the techs taking blood would miss her veins several times.

** The aforementioned rogue ''Triceratops'' turned out to be Bakhita, the young [[UsedToBeASweetChild friendly]] ''Triceratops'' from ''JurassicParkTheGame'' all grown up.

** [[Film/JurassicParkIII This isn't the first time a character who has never seen a]] ''[[Film/JurassicParkIII Spinosaurus]]'' [[Film/JurassicParkIII before remark on how it's roar 'sounds bigger']].

** Bridges is compared to [[StalkingIsLove creepy]]-[[RomanticizedAbuse ass]] [[Literature/FiftyShadesOfGrey Christian]]-[[GaryStu fucking]]-[[NotIfTheyEnjoyedItRationalization Grey.]] Nobody in the Jurassic World staff likes that book.

** [[NoodleIncident Many years ago,]] an extremely aggressive, borderline AxCrazy female Spinosaurus named [[AwesomeMcCoolname Madre del Diablo]] was set to be a new attraction at Jurassic World. On her first day there, she broke into Rexy's paddock, and needless to say, [[ForegoneConclusion Rexy was not pleased.]] It was a good thing the park was closed that day.

* CheerfulChild: Rosie, Owen's niece.

** Okay, Elise may not be evil, but the fact remains that [[spoiler:she loved her little sister very much, took care of her before her passing, and has guarded her remains all these years.]] Claire is understandly shocked when she realizes this.

* IllGirl: [[spoiler: Elise's sister]] became this towards the end of her life. Elise really struggled to keep [[spoiler: Small One healthy, doing things like building a rudimentary shelter for her, and stealing a worker's raincoat to keep her warm (which [[NiceJobBreakingItHero horribly backfired, as this was the incident that caused the workers to start feeding her via crane, thus negating any chance of her getting help.)]]]]

* AdultFear: For all the happiness and great things that's going on with her life, Elise is genuinely terrified that [[spoiler: she would forget about Small One and how she used to look like.]]

* NotSoDifferent:

** Bridges and Claire have this with their ingrained dislike of a specific species of dinosaur due to one individuals actions. They also both love or respect the dinosaur the other hates.

* FamousLastWords: "Here's to you, Elise; maybe my leftover years can go to your lifespan."

* CrazyAwesome: InUniverse example. People all over the Internet start thinking Elise is really crazy when [[spoiler:she went swimming into Lilly's lagoon to distract the ''Mosasaurus'' from Owen.]]

*** Also not helped is that she's almost certainly mentally unstable from years of isolation- she frequently states that she talks to [[spoiler: her little sister]]... who is a corpse.

* BigBrotherIsWatching: Lowery attempts to do this with the fake bird cameras all over the park by declaring to Elise that he [[LargeHam IS EVERYWHERE!]] Elise responds by [[ShutUpHannibal throwing mud at the fake birds.]]
