** In Chapter 6, it's revealed that Elise's maternal aunt and regent, Lady Mairghread "Mairie", has not only lowered police funding years prior but also has the current department on her payroll, obeying her over even Elise. They make their final stand shooting at Eggmans robots, but their handguns prove [[Main/CopsAreUseless rather ineffective]] against the armor of robots.

* BadCopIncompetentCop: While the Soleanna guards in the original game were pretty ineffectual, here these guys take it to ridiculous levels - including and not limited to forcing two people trying to help save their country's head of state to guess who their captain is. [[Main/ItAmusedMe Just because they get a kick out of doing so]].

* TooDumbToLive: Lady Mairghread and her cohorts, considering they would have caused [[Main/ApocolypseHow the end]] [[Main/BadFuture of the world]] if Elise ever cried - and she came quite close at times, but as if that wasn't bad enough Mairie ultimately cancels her alliance with Eggman just because the latter wanted a refund. She does this while Eggman has her boat surrounded by his armed and armored robots. [[Main/NeckSnap It does not end well for her]].

* BigBadWannabe: As with the [[VideoGame/SonicTheHedgeHog2006 video game]] being crossed over with DC here, Eggman is the first villain to formally appear though is very quickly overshadowed by the [[Main/BigBad real villain]] soon enough.

* OffscreenMomentOfAwesome: The early parts of Sonic, Silver and Shadow's storylines appear to be going on like this, with Barry being bluntly told about the event of Sonic fighting Silver, for instance. Justified since there's not much point in novelizing a mostly unchanged event from the game, and because Barry does not begin the fic with his powers so wouldn't be able to do a whole lot to change things anyway.

** Going off the specific Sonic game being crossed over with the DCAMU, Sonic gets a ''massive' speed and power upgrade as well by comparison.

* AdaptationalBadass: When he finally appears in Chapter 3, Mephiles appears to exhibit more powerful time-related powers than in his original appearance, being able to conjure up visions of the previously thought erased timeline; and also seemingly having control over shadows.

* {{Hallucinations}}: Barry sees these in Chapter 4, and they [[Main/BrokenTears reduce him to tears]].[[spoiler:Specifically, he begins hallucinating that the burned bodies of Crisis City's victims are the bodies of those who died in the Apokolips War timeline. He breaks when two of the hallucinations are of his nephews' corpses.]] He later sees hallucinations of the paradooms in Chapter 5, and initially runs away from them in fear - until he [[main/NoHoldsBarredBeatdown gets some motivation to do otherwise]].

Of course, there is practically guaranteed to be a ''major'' catch to this, knowing Mephiles. [[spoiler:Barry actually rejects the initial deal, but then is shown [[BadFuture the fate]] that will befall this timeline, Mephiles having expected his reaction]].

As the title might suggest, it so happens to be a {{Crossover}} of the WesternAnimation/DCAnimatedMovieUniverse with Franchise/SonicTheHedgehog. Yes this actually is a thing now.

The storyline serves as a {{Continuation}} of the DCAMU's universe, following the [[GrandFinale final]] film, WesternAnimation/JusticeLeagueDarkApokolipsWar. Following the events of the aforementioned movie, [[Franchise/TheFlash Barry Allen]] wakes up in a newly created timeline, only to discover that more things are different than any previous timeline his time travel has created up to this point. At first, he's willing to move on and accept the changes for the sake of being with his beloved - though that's when a certain mad scientist shows up and a certain intro sequence is brought into novelized form. Ever the superhero, Barry decides to get involved. He ultimately proves to have little idea of the rabbit hole he's falling down.

* NamesTheSame: You know how Barry's hometown is Central City? Well, the Sonic universe coincidentally has a city with literally that same exact name. Turns out in this new timeline, Barry and Iris both live there and evidently retained the same jobs they have in every other timeline so far.

* InSpiteOfANail: Despite the timeline changing to a point where antropomorphic animals exist as native earth creatures and all of earth's continents are different in shape, Barry and Iris as well as their families still exist and have the same jobs as they normally do. It's even implied that [[MyParentsAreDead Nora Allen still died]] in much the same way she did in the original timeline. Either the rest of DC's lineup does not exist in this timeline, or they simply did not gain any relevance.
