* SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome:
** Correlation doesn't equal causation. It's revealed the double-jointed toe equaling Quirklessness is an old wives' tale that people happened to believe a lot in. Quirklessness, like real-life genetics, has a lot of complicated factors going into it.
** If [[{{Muggle}} Quirklessness]] is treated as a disability, then it should have been verified by at least three doctors like actual disabilities are.
** Tenya and Izuku drift apart from Ochako due to the Stain Incident intensifying the boys' friendship and no longer having time for her, due to their internships.
** Despite Yuuei treating the Sports Festival as SeriousBusiness for their students to get noticed in the industry, in the long term no one truly cares about the Sports Festival. The media cares more about current events. so Bakugou is quickly shoved out of the spotlight in favor of the Hosu Quartet, who helped captured Stain and are the interns of new Number Two Hero Hawks.
** Just because Enji had two separate women as best friends doesn't mean he doesn't hold misogynistic beliefs. Which reared its ugly head when he fully expected them to support him despite their objections over his abuse of his wife.
** Regardless of the power of your own Quirk(s) and the boost you have from your support gear, when the odds are stacked against you it's best to fold because otherwise, you are going to be completely outclassed and beaten by the enemy. Wolfram learned this the hard way when he believed his own power and the amplification device would allow him to take down All Might, Hawks, and Empathy at the same time and lost.

* AdultFear:
** Kiyome's husband dies suddenly and she has to raise a young child by herself with seemingly no family to turn to.
** Hawks was more or less bought by the Heroics Commission because he and his mother were destitute and he had no agency until adulthood.
** Inko realizes that her son and his mentor were lying to her for months. And that Izuku could have been crippled by his new Quirk.
** Inko and Izuku find out that the man they call husband/father is a horrible supervillain and their lives were essentially lies.
** Kei's parents try to have him stay away from a dangerous girl to keep him safe. He elopes with said girl and they never see him again.
** Neito offhandedly references how The European Underworld kept an eye on his Quirk's development. Had his parents not hid the extent of what Copy can do, he might have been kidnapped by a human trafficking ring.
** [[spoiler: Kiyome's parents trying to force her down a path she didn't want and betrayed her when she refused.]]

One trick ponies don't last in the business and villains will exploit any weaknesses they spotspot Justified, Vlad king intended to focus first semester on quirk training to prevent potentially lethal incidents, and had planned for the summer camp and winter semester to focus on physical conditioning, he did not expect villain attacks in what he thought would be a normal school year

* AntiNepotism: Uraraka is rather upset that her best friends, when given a chance to recommend people for exclusive internships with two Top Ten Heroes didn’t consider her, their friend at all. Instead her friends picked people on standards they don’t tell anyone about so she doesn’t know to make herself recognized. Unbeknownst to her, Izuku and Tenya decided their recommendations based on who did and didn’t benefit from the Sports Festival and the resulting internships. Monoma and Shinsou made terrible showings at the Sports Festival due their Quirk being more suitable for espionage rather a combat-focused competition. In addition due to FantasticRacism, it would a lot harder for the two to find good internships or any opportunities to train outside of school. Whereas Momo and Itsuka were badly screwed over by their internship who used them as props for a commercial instead of teaching them anything. Which badly hurt their self-esteems and left them undertrained. In contrast, Uraraka made a great showing at the Sports Festival and had a worthwhile internship which is why she wasn’t recommended

Okay, people need to realize exactly what Surprisingly Realistic Outcome means. It means the outcome is something you'd find in Real Life rather than what is realistic to the setting. Putting aside the nature of MHA's setting, it's still set in Japan, whereas the response given here would be more realistic if the setting was America or Western, but Values Dissonance is in effect, meaning it is not this trope. That includes Bakugo's bullying, Mineta's perversion, Aizawa's teaching methods, Endeavor's abuse being kept quiet, etc. The trope isn't "The situation is treated in a generally realistic manner", it has to be realistic to the setting and go against the conventions the work would normally use.

** Had Yuuei known that Bakugou [[SuicideDare suicide-baited]] Izuku, Bakugou would have been put on probation at best or else outright rejected.
** Connections and reputation matter in order to succeed. Bakugou realizes this the hard way when his past as a bully costs him a prestigious internship.

** Inko, Hawks, and All Might strongarm Endeavor into signing custody of his son Shouto over to them, or else they will go public with his abusive behavior. When Endeavor tries to protest, they point out that a) they have ''years''' worth of actual evidence; b) that All Might's status as the Symbol of Peace, combined with Hawks' as the current Number Two Hero, give their word plenty of weight; and c) that Endeavor is so unpopular due to his recklessness and bad attitude that it wouldn't be hard to convince anyone that he's a domestic abuser, ''especially'' since it's public knowledge that he doesn't get along with his children, his wife is in a mental hospital, and his eldest son is dead. [[spoiler: He's actually not, but everyone believes he is.]] When Endeavor points out that revealing his actions would collapse the entire hero system, Inko coldly replies that she doesn't ''care'', as it was that very same system that allowed Endeavor to get way with his terrible behavior for years.

* ChocolateBaby: Zigzagged. It at first seems that Izuku might be one because his PowerCopying Quirk seems like it has elements of his mother's Quirk, but not his father's. Children usually have either one of their parents' Quirks, a mix of both, or something completely new. To have a combination with one parent and not the other usually means YourCheatingHeart, but Izuku is legitimate, and his Quirk ''is'' a mix of his parents'. Hisashi just lied about his Quirk being fire breath.

Which is a concept that grown heroes with professional counseling have a hard time grasping, much less a lonely child that received no therapy.

In addition due to Fantastic Racism, it would a lot harder for the two to find good internships or any opportunities to train outside of school.

** Dabi is a Serial Killer and a terrorist planning to attack hero students even he’s disturbed at Muscular’s relish over the thought of killing defenseless children. He wishes that Muscular gets turned into Noumu fodder.

* IWarnedYou: Out of pity, Aoi warns Saito to watch her back because someone tortured her accomplices the Takami parents to death while making it look like they died in a car accident. Saito ignores the warning to her immediate peril.

** Dabi explicitly warns Muscular to not underestimate the interns. The latter is very used to children being easy victims while the interns managed to successfully stall the much more skilled Stain. And they’ve gotten more skilled since then

* OvershadowedByAwesome: While the rest of Class 1-A grew over the past semester. They have to focus on strengthening their Quirks while the Internship Squad are already focusing on skill.

** Monoma doesn't have any of this. His observational skills were learned and had to find out the limits of his Quirk the hard ways, such has the hospitalization the one time he tried to copy a mutation Quirk. In addition, he doesn't have natural protections some people would have from their own Quirk when he copies them.

** Becomes especially apparent during the Training Camp Opening exercise, the Internship Squad banded together and completed the exercise four hours ahead of everyone else while leaving everyone else in the dust. Uraraka and others are practically seething with resentment as the interns are completely rested and unbothered by what's supposed to be TrainingFromHell.

* UnspokenPlanGuarantee: Izuku makes an elaborate plan that would have shown the Hosu Quartet's new skills during the class spar. Only to change his mind and go with an unspoken plan (to the audience) that succeeds rather spectacularly.

** Dabi explains the reasoning behind the Training Camp assault and their plan of action. Which just ensures that things won’t go smoothly.

* AppleOfDiscord: Hawks and Miruko had the best of intentions of trying to pick students that would benefit from their teaching and fighting-styles. Unfortunately by giving their handpicked interns the power to recommend their fellow students, they ended up what was previous close-knit classes against them. Their interns decide to base their picks on two factors: helping their classmates who were unjustly screwed over in their internships and ease the widening jealousy of Class 1-B and General Studies. Which gave the implication that the interns thought the rest of their peers unworthy. The teachers are rather frustrated that Hawks and Miruko gave their interns too much power and the opportunity for them to be scrapegoated by envious students

* BothSidesHaveAPoint: Mirko tears Vlad King a new one for overfocusing his students on Quirk training to the point of neglecting their physical training. Which would get them killed if his students had to fight an actual villain. Seeing actual students having to fight for their lives against villains and seeing fellow Pros maimed or killed due to poor training, Mirko sees having varied training as life or death. Vlad King defends that his students could die if they don't get fine enough control on their Quirks. He had the summer training camp and the winter semester to focus on physical training and he didn't expect villains to start attacking students and thought they would have had a normal school year!

** The results of the Hawks and Miruko internship picks ended up deeply dividing the students of the Heroic Studies and the resulting interns. The Heroic Studies students are understandably jealous that their classmates are training with two Top Ten heroes. In addition the interns are getting more opportunities to train outside of school and get the attention of the best in the Hero industry while in the rest of them in the dust. They have make due with only being able to train in-class twice a month while they get four hours every school day with the option of weekend training. The interns are getting better training and networking opportunities while they still make do with they could find for themselves or what the school gives them. In the interns’ perspectives, they managed to get a lucky break after nearly dying at the hands of a deranged Serial Killer. They need the additional training because they are all targets in their own rights for various villains who want to hurt or exploit them. When they made their recommendations to pick amongst their classmates, they decide to chose the ones who wouldn’t have the opportunity in spite of their skill (Monoma and Shinsou) or were screwed over by unscrupulous media-hungry heroes (Momo and Kendou). The teachers are trying to head off on what’s going a major dividing issue before it boils over.
