The fanfic begins after episode five of Re:Creators, as we see that the government have already allied themselves with the heroes by the start of the story, and delays the events of the next episode in favor of original plots. Even ''when'' episode six ends up happening, Hoshi is only called in for the climax of the fight that happens (which occurs in episode seven), still partaking in original storylines and dealing with a loose thread. Despite this, the canon still happens as intended up until Episode 12, where it is halted for the time being while the original storyline continued until chapter 14 brought Hoshi back with the group in time for them to recruit Hikayu (very loosely following the events of Episodes 14 and 15), though very briefly before it kicks off another original storyline that eventually ensures [[OffTheRails the stations don't matter anymore]].

* EmotionalPowers: All of Dante’s forms (and by extension, the Re:Shocker belts) draw power from not just elements, but also emotions, sometimes even being used as a back-up source. Fuji has [[HotBlooded passion]], Yellowstone has [[UnstoppableRage anger]], Sakurajima has [[HeartBrokenBadass sorrow]], and Ashen is whenever those emotions aren’t strong enough. By contrast, Verge's powers derive from being [[TheStoic cold-blooded]], though Yuichi circumvents it by being a corpse and thus be ''naturally'' cold-blooded. [[AllThereInTheManual A post on SpaceBattles]] says that Docro’s powers also draw from [[TheSociopath toxicity]] (or failing that, [[IllGirl being sick]], though [[DeadlyUpgrade that runs the risk of killing the user]]). This becomes averted for Dante once Hoshi switches to a more traditional form-changing gimmick.

** Given how he was originally supposed to be [[Series/KamenRiderBuild Ryuga]], Hanamori is an expy to him: a boxer who is fighting to support an IllGirl and is even described as wearing a similar outfit to Ryuga's in his first appearence.
** Yuichi's VisualNovel origins, ending that involves [[SnowMeansDeath losing loved ones and even dying in a snowstorm]], and the timing of his anime adaptation brings to mind [[{{Anime/Clannad}} Tomoya]], though the [[AdaptationalAlternateEnding anime-exclusive ending he comes from]] and the IllGirl little sister bring to mind [[VisualNovel/SchoolDays Makoto's fate]] and [[VisualNovel/KanaLittleSister Taka's situation with Kana]] respectively. According to a post discussing the endings to the Visual Novel, two of its endings are nods to two of Kana's endings.

* IllGirl: Yuna is shown to be this in Hotaro’s flashbacks and, as revealed by Minos, is a qualifier to wear the Plague Belt. Kotoha is also revealed to be one too.

** A meta example plays out where Akagi tries to figure out a Sentai episode where one of the rangers turns into a monster. There ''is'' one, but the events of Cinders and Ashes takes place in 2017, five years before [[Recap/AvataroSentaiDonbrothersEp15WelcomeBackTaro the episode in question aired]].

* SailorEarth: The story of Kamen Rider Dante sets this trope up, as Hoshi brings up how there's eighteen belts made by Re:Shocker and that, as later scenes have shown, tap into their own elemental and emotional resource. As such, it's easy to pick an element not claimed by other Riders followed by a emotion and bam, new Rider.

** The name of each Rider (with the exception of Malacoda) are comprised of five letters, with Docro taking out the [[SpellMyNameWithAnS W]] to accomidate for it.

** Chapter 26 (which is coincedentally the [[ThirteenIsUnlucky 13th chapter]] of the Cinder Fall saga) has [[spoiler:Yudai give a CurbstompBattle to Hoshi as he turns Honoka and Marine into mindless Kaizo-Majin, makes a third one that kills Shindou, and breaks and nearly kills Hoshi were it not for Magane using her Infinite Deception to fuse Souta and Yudai together. Then there's Tachibana finding out that Shimashima is his father]].

* BrokenFaceplate: While a staple for tokusatsu, it gets played UpToEleven here. By the end of Cinder Road (or 13 chapters in), we see a total of four faceplates broken[[note]]For context, they’re Blaze Neko, Docro, Dante, and Malacoda, in that order[[/note]].

** Toranity's song is [[Manga/DemonSlayerKimetsuNoYaiba Gurenge]], with the chorus lyrics pointing to how, despite having [[TheAtoner past mistakes that can't be erased]] and [[HurtingHero a future that can't be escaped]], Hoshi, for the sake of protecting others, must [[NextTierPowerUp become stronger]], something that Toranity accomplishes.

* DramaticIrony: Once TheReveal that [[spoiler:Shimashima is actually Yuusuke Shimazaki and is working with Altair]], future interactions between him and the heroes [[spoiler:under his Shimashima guise]] become this trope.

** On the Re:Creators side, it brings the tragedy of Setsuna to the forefront, from emphasizing on the plagiarism accusations to showing just how her death (and by extension, Souta and Hoshi’s actions) emotionally affected her friends and family, as well as show how such controversy doesn’t just go away nor is restricted to just the internet, as seen when a Zenmetsuna member vandalizes Hoshi’s apartment just because he said he was friends with Setsuna or the full-on flame war that Vega intends to cause.

*** While not directly related to Dante, the excuse of Mamika fighting a threat from the other side of the world while Melt takes over for her duties is a nod to the in universe justification for Hongo being PutOnABus, [[SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome and the implications]] that rise from being a fresh new recruit suddenly expected to defend the world in your predecessor's absense.

* SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome: A {{justified}} trope for the most part, as the tropes playing out are in the real world.
** Being able to lob around fire and have it go around you, especially when you’re in a suit of armor, is going to result in the body heating up. The only reason Hoshi isn’t cooked alive inside the suit is because he added a small detail about how the armor protects the wearer from the fire, though not its heat. Even then, he's recieved massive burns on his body and is often hospitalized after a battle.
** Altair being a meme character results in that fact being found out a lot quicker thanks to someone who frequents the main source of her powers being part of the group.
** Throwing a temper tantrum, no matter how brief, is going to result in consequences. Kikuchihara claims that ''part'' of the reason why they took the Volcano Belt away is because of Hoshi’s FreakOut. The other part was due to the above case being cranked up to eleven. Hoshi himself ends up getting traumatized from the experience, calling himself a monster afterwards and trying all his might to not have to wear the belt again just to avoid having another upset.
** Revealing your stance on a controversial subject matter ''along'' with revealing your true identity in the modern times is going to result in someone attacking you. {{Downplayed}}, as a person merely vandalized a bit of Hoshi’s apartment complex with little to no effect, all while Hoshi wasn’t there to begin with.
** Mamika’s fight with Celesia, while being treated as a SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome in its own show, gets a double whammy as one of the consequences for it was her own Creators being forced to cancel her show and replace it with a spin-off.
** Much like with other characters in the show, Hoshi doesn’t instantly put two and two together of the Creations actually ''being'' the Creations until he either is told or sees what they’re capable of with few exceptions. ''Unlike'' most of the others in the show, though, he doesn’t mistake them for cosplayers and believes they’re actual people. This becomes apparent when, for a good chunk of a chapter, Hoshi didn’t know he was with Mamika until he directly compared a picture of Mamika to her actual self. Similarly, he’s just as clueless when it comes to Hikayu and he had to have [[ItMakesSenseInContext the search results for her school]] tell him she’s a Creation. However, he quickly catches on that Melt was a Creation simply because [[ImplausibleHairColor of her being a middle schooler with mint-green hair]].
** Likewise, Tachibana instantly catches on that something isn’t right when Kamen Rider Dante appears in the real world out of nowhere and dismisses the idea that it’s cosplay.
** Subverted in regards to [[ShowWithinAShow the Kamen Rider Dante doujin]]. While Tachibana dreads that his doujin would get a cease and desist order from Toei, Shimashima reassures him that he did everything in his power to prevent that to avoid angering the fans. [[DoubleSubverted Instead,]] Toei took the premise and decided to make a live-action version as per their contribution to the Elimination Chamber Festival.
** As mentioned in the commentary for Cinder Road, this is {{averted}} for Hoshi’s driving of a motorbike despite earlier saying how he doesn’t have a license to drive, let alone for a motorcycle.
** The epilogue to Cinder Road reveals (from the ''yakuza'', no less) that people ''are'' becoming aware of the chaos that is unfolding, even if the government is trying to cover it up. On top of that, the coverup only makes things worse for the police as they are LockedOutOfTheLoop.
** Police are able to not only able to quickly identify a murderer is thanks to the world wide web, but also manage to find out their modis oprendai enough to pin point a target.

** A conversation with Alicetaria led Hoshi to reveal a dark part about his past:

* ItOnlyWorksOnce: Meteora's power to revive people is this as but repeated use would dull its effectiveness at best and lead to causing the Great Destruction at worst.

** {{Downplayed}}. While Magane was still mostly antagonistic in the episodes that Cinder Road followed, she was tipped off about Souta and Hoshi by Altair and messed with them purely to get a kick out of it. By the end of Cinder Road, though, she seems committed to breaking Hoshi and has even begun creating some Kaizo-Majins that are pure evil, whereas in the original, she branched out to be the WildCard.

** Grief and how anger at said grief, while a healthy part of the process and can be used for the betterment of others, is ultimately detrimental to moving on if one decides to ''stay'' angry. It says something when Altair's faction (hers included) are all people motivated by loss [[note]]Altair and Yuusuke with Setsuna, Alicetaria with Magratz Village and later Mamika, Blitz with his daughter, Charon with Lunala, Syo with his sister and mentor, Yudai with Yuna, and Yuichi with everyone[[/note]] but chose to lash out instead of coping.

** Cinder Fall has YouAreNotAlone be a major role throughout its arcs.
