''[[https://www.fanfiction.net/s/12463373/1/Avengers-of-Steel Avengers of Steel]]'' by Creator/{{Reyel}} is a crossover between the ''Franchise/MarvelCinematicUniverse'' and ''Film/ManOfSteel'', transplanting Franchise/{{Superman}} and some of his direct unique adversaries, and later some other DC elements, into the MCU. The storyline starts with a 'flash-forward' to the Black Zero Event as Zod and his forces attack Earth, and then goes on to explore the steps as S.H.I.E.L.D. learns of Clark’s existence and he becomes part of the Avengers.

The author has also written ''Fanfic/AvengerGoddess'', a story that serves as a SpiritualAntithesis to this one as it adds Franchise/WonderWoman from ''Film/WonderWoman2017'' to another version of the MCU, and ''Fanfic/AvengerKnight'', which features a version of Franchise/{{Batman}} based on a blend of media adaptations, including the comics, the animated shows, and the [[Franchise/BatmanArkhamSeries Arkham games series]].

** The author stated that he didn't want to use certain DC characters in the story (Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, etc.) but he later changed his mind by having alien races from across the DC lore such as the Tamaraneans (Starfire and Blackfire's race from ''Franchise/TeenTitans''), the Almarac (Maxima's race), and the Thanagarians (Hawkman and Hawkgirl) exist in this universe and be mentioned by Alflyse.

** A possible reference is made to Superman's first post-Crisis meeting with Franchise/{{Batman}} in the comics when Superman first confronts the Masked Man and realizes his identity; Clark explicitly muses that in another world he might have taken the Masked Man straight to prison as a brutal vigilante, but having briefly met Matt and talked about the vigilante's morality to Jessica, Clark recognizes that there is enough doubt for him to want to hear Matt's side of the situation before he makes a decision.
