** Lung, of all people, tries this with Makima, acting grateful for being rescued by her from the PRT when in reality he's trying to gauge whether she's a friend or foe. He soon discards the act after she insults him.

** When questioned by Dragon and Watchdog regarding whether she can Master others, Makima states that her powers only work on "lower lifeforms", leading them to assume she can only control animals, completely leaving out the fact that being the "Control Devil" her power applies to anything she considers "lower lifeforms", which includes humans.
** Makima tells Bakuda that "wold peace" would be a consequence of her end goal, leaving out that she intends to take over Earth-Bet to create a WorldOfSilence.

When she visits Rachel's dog shelter, in addition to trying to recruit her, she's also there to adopt a dog. Furthermore, she's shown to be exceedingly good with Bitch's dogs, with all three of them quickly coming to like her.

** Leviathan uses the full extent of his power and demonstrates more strategic thinking when attacking Brockton Bay to get at Makima, even ignoring the other Protectorate heroes to do so. A few heroes observe that the [[EldritchAbomination Endbringer]] wouldn't do this unless he viewed Makima as that much of a threat.

* UndignifiedDeath: At Makima's mercy Lung believes he's going to die powerless, [[DyingAlone alone]], completely naked, drowning in a puddle of his own StressVomit at the hands a woman because [[ItAmusedMe she felt like it]] and never heard of him, believing he wasted his life. Not a dignified end for the Dragon of Kyushu. [[spoiler:Then, he gets a second trigger and Makima decides to spare his life to make use of him.]]

** Ditto for [[spoiler:Emma]], as while being reduced to LudicrousGibs while cowering alone in fear in your bedroom is definitely an awful fate, considering that she was a sadistic SmugSnake who betrayed her best friend [[spoiler:Taylor]], and went on a one-year-and-half long bullying campaign against her, including defiling the last memento of her deceased mother, and is also known to have [[BullyingTheDisabled bullied a disabled girl]], many readers would probably cheer at her death at Makima's hands.

** Lung, [[RapeIsASpecialKindOfEvil a rapist who runs a prostitution ring]] [[PaedoHunt that preys on underage girls]] and a cape with the power to take on the entire Protectorate by himself, is [[VillainsWantMercy reduced to begging for his life]] after he finds out the hard way how hopelessly outmatched he is by Makima.

** When Makima is delivering a CurbStompBattle to Lung before that, the villain asks if she's out for {{Revenge}} against him only for the Control Devil to inform him she's never even ''heard'' of Lung until not long ago.
** Makima killing [[TheBully Emma]] to kick start her HealingFactor can be seen as this.

* ProperlyParanoid: Tagg believes that Makima could be secretly a {{Supervillain}} and (correctly) deduces she has some kind of MindControl power. Most of his colleagues think he's ImproperlyParanoid but he's actually closer to realising Makima's true nature than anyone else. [[spoiler:He's also first to figure out that Makima has mastered the ABB to attack the PRT in order to get rid of the competition.]]

* DudeNotFunny: One commenter calls out another on PHO for making an "disarming" joke about Armsmaster.

"[[ForTheEvulz I just enjoy killing the country mouse]]." and that she had never heard him before today and [[{{Sadist}} she found this to be good way to pass the time]].

* FullFrontalAssault: Makima ends up doing this near the end of her fight with Leviathan, as a result of the massive amounts of ClothingDamage her outfit's taken earlier. It's caught on camera from Uber and Leet's drone.

* StunnedSilence: The Directors of the PRT have this reaction after they first hear that [[spoiler:Makima has defeated Leviathan permanently by lasting him into Mercury]].
* StupidSexyFlanders: More than a few characters comment on how beautiful Makima is including the heterosexual [[DarkActionGirl Shadow Stalker]], the UsefulNotes/{{Asexual}} Tattletale and the StraightGay Legend.
