* ''WorldOfTanks:'' Particularly sourced from various communities
** Within 24 hours of being released, the [[FunWithAcronyms LTP]], the tank that was gifted for free to all players as part of the celebration of Wargaming.net's 15th anniversary, has received the nickname, "Learn To Play". It's also sometimes referred to as the "Loltraktor Pro", essentially referring to it as simply a refurbished Leichttraktor.
** Several tanks have [[ReportingNames abbreviated names to ease communication]], but it didn't take long for the German Leichttraktor to gain the affectionate nickname "Loltraktor". It also looks like a [[Manga/PanzerFrauleinAlteseisen Wolfin]].
*** The Loltraktor now has a big brother: the Tier 10 German tank destroyer Waffentrager auf E-100, a surprisingly agile 2,000-hp behemoth with a laser-accurate autoloading 12.8cm naval gun, rapidly became known as the "Waffletraktor"/"WTF E-100"/"Waifutrager/traktor"/"Wafflehouse", mostly poking at it's general size and devastating gun.
** The SU-14-2 SPG is probably better known to most players as the "(school)bus" or the "Finger of God" than by its actual designation. It's also known as "The Fridge" ("Холодильник") among Russian players.
** The S-51 shares the "Finger of God" nickname, since they both used to be the heaviest [=SPGs=] available. It is also called the "[[TabletopGame/{{Warhammer 40000}} Basilisk]]", due to its striking resemblance. Also known as the Unicorn due its frontal gun mounting resembling one.
** The KV-2's turrets and the premium [=PzIV=] Schmalturm gained the nickname "bobbleheads" for their disproportionate sizes. The former is also often called "The Portajohn" in China for same reason.
*** US heavy tanks from the T29 onwards got nicknamed "{{Cheburashka}}s" for the same reason, and for the "flaps" on the sides of their turrets.
** The [=VK4502=] Ausf B. Heavy tank has been called the "Baby Maus", while Russian fans nicknamed it "Slipper" for its silhouette icon.
*** In a similar vein, the German [=Pz38H735(f)=] and French Hotchkiss H35 are often called the "Mini-Maus", as they have incredible armor for their tier, but are very slow-moving. The [=Pz38H735(f)=] has also been coined the 'Mobile Oppression Fortress' for its ability to take withering fire and keep enemy heads down.
** The map Malinovka earned the derisive nickname "Campinovka" for its large no-man's land and the usual tactics for the map. Also sometimes applied to Redshire (becoming "Campshire") due to two hills that players loved to camp before the redesign.
*** El Halluf is called "Sniperistan" by some players for much the same reason.
** The Russian 100mm [=D10T=] gun for the IS heavy tank is sometimes referred to as the "idiot gun" (spelled as [=1D10T=]), as it's more geared for a medium tank-type play style compared to the heavier cannon that most IS tank users prefer: The 122 D-25T.
** Some tanks can use howitzers; short barreled guns that primarily fire low velocity high-caliber HE shells. These are known as "derpguns". On tanks with multiple howitzers available, there may be the distinction of "miniderp" for the smaller variety.
*** The original Derpgun is an [[{{BFG}} enormous 152mm howitzer]] that's an option on the Russian KV-2[[labelnote:*]]Formerly, the tier 5 KV with an upgraded turret; they were split in a patch that introduced tighter matchmaking[[/labelnote]] tank. It's slow-loading, not very accurate - and able to instantly kill many tanks below the KV-2's tier and deal significant damage to even ''Tier 10 tanks''. Because of this, the KV-2 quickly gained the infamous nickname "King of Derp", so underestimating it is a ''very'' bad idea.
** Another notorious 152mm gun is the BL-10 gun on the ISU-152, nicknamed the "Trollcannon" by The Mighty Jingles on Youtube. It's an extremely powerful but extraordinarily erratic weapon, with huge alpha damage, very high penetration, poor accuracy, slow load time and a slow aim time. It may cause colossal damage when it hits the target, but it might miss or even bounce off a very lightly armored target (when on paper it should get through a Maus from the front). Depending on what the gun decides to do, the player is left either delighted or furious after firing it. (Or to quote Jingles, "In Soviet Russia, sometimes the Trollcannon trolls you.")
** The premium Type 59 medium tank has been nicknamed the "Walmart Tank." Because, you know, [[DontExplainTheJoke it's made in China.]] Others call them "pandas", and for a more racy nickname, there's always the lovable "chink tank". Owing to the tanks remarkable tendency to burst into flame with hits almost anywhere, "rice-cooker" is an often used name by those disdainful of its combat performance. The most readily understandable and commonly used nickname, however, seems to just be "Type" (since it was the only tank with that word in its name for a very long time)
*** The addition of the Type 62 has resulted in the division into "Type" for 59s and "[=MiniType=]" for 62s.
*** On the Chinese server, there's the "Thin 59", "Lite 59," "Short 59", "Beefed 59", "Panther 59" and "Shit Camo 59", the last one referring to the locally infamous [[BlingBlingBang Type 59 Gold]].
** The KV-1S "Sport"; it has lighter armor than the KV-1 despite being a tier higher, but has higher speed and agility. It's essentially a stripped-down KV that performs more like a medium tank than a heavy. Some have also named it the "Crutch Tank" for its forgiving matchmaking, insanely powerful gun for its tier, and good power/weight ratio.
*** Some people refer to it as the "KV-IS" since it uses a nearly identical turret (they're impossible to tell apart from behind) and has a very similar hull to the IS.
** The KV-4 is sometimes called the KV-Fortress due to having thick all-around armor, making it tough to penetrate when properly angled.
** The KV-5 premium heavy tank has earned the title of "Battleship" by some; it is exceptionally well armored (even on the sides) and has two additional mini-turrets in front of the main turret, giving it a warship-like appearance. The mini-turrets themselves have been nicknamed "[[Franchise/StarWars R2-D2]]" and "The Breast".
** The T82 is a Tier-3 American tank destroyer which is basically a M3 Stuart chassis with an open-topped turret and a more powerful selection of guns to choose from, including a 105mm howitzer. Being based on the Stuart's chassis means it can move more quickly than almost any other TD, but has paper thin armor as a drawback. It's no big surprise it's been nicknamed the "Jeep with a TOW missile".
** The German GW Panther Tier-6 artillery has distinctively up-turned sides (where the crew would normally stand on while operating the gun) earning it the nickname "Dracula" for the popped-collar look.
** The Sturmpanzer II SPG and the French S35 CA Tank Destroyer gets called "Bathtub", with their silhouettes and large open-topped fighting compartments.
** The highly sloped armor of the Russian Object 704 Tier 9 tank destroyer makes it look like the most recent incarnation of the "[[Franchise/{{Batman}} Batmobile]]".
** The French AMX 40 light tank is already starting to be referred to as the "Rubber Duckie" because it looks like a rubber duck.
*** Has arguably [[AscendedMeme ascended]] as a part of the [[http://worldoftanks.com/news/1469-fan-art-spotlight-32/ Fanart #32]] post from Wargaming.
*** As of 2013, there's official merchandise with AMX 40/duck jokes.
** The tier X French medium tank Batignolles-Châtillon 25T often has its name shortened to "[=BatChat=]" or "Bat". Some players have started to affectionately call it the "[=BatShit=]" out of respect for its capabilities.
** The German-influenced design of the AMX M4(1945) has lead to some players dubbing it "the Green Tiger" or "the French Tiger" for its strong resemblance to the German Tiger II. "Tigre" is another play on the same concept, for a more French-feeling pronunciation.
** The British tier X medium, the [=FV4202=], gets quite a bit of flak due to its relatively low top speed, but its high P/W ratio, fast turning speed, and low terrain resistance gives it good handling and has led some players to dub it "The Hovercraft".
** The M3 Lee gets quite a bit of flak from the playerbase, due to its [[UnexpectedGameplayChange lack of turret]], thin armour and rather inaccurate guns, to the point where - thanks to its high-profile design - people have begun calling it the "Garbage Truck". While it was still named Grant, some players referred to it as the "Galantz", a popular microwave oven brand in Europe and China.
** The French Renault UE 57 tank destroyer has rapidly acquired nicknames based on its diminutive size, which is smaller than the ''turrets'' on many high-tier vehicles. Some of the most popular are "The Angry Flea" or "The Lawnmower".
** The French [=SAu=] 40 tank destroyer has terrible armor and speed while being fairly large, and having the only saving grace of being ''almost'' a Hetzer with its guns. The players have nicknamed it "the Tumor"[[note]]definitely a reference to the machinegun turret on top with its very thin armor, probably also reference to being a product of the Somua company[[/note]] within days of its release. The "Tumor" nickname has since become a general term for any massive cupolas acting as a weakpoint on an otherwise heavily-armored tank.
*** Another nickname for the [=SAu=] is "The Pig", referencing the vehicle's sluggish movement, thin armor and [[BilingualBonus the fact that it means exactly that in German.]]
** The BDR G1 B (and to a lesser extent the ARL V39) is sometimes known as the "Steel Potato" due to the shape of the hull when viewed from the side.
** Speaking of the French Tanks, the stock turret of the Tier-6 [=ARL 44=] Heavy Tank has been called "The Barn" due to its shape.
** The Germans get a tier 7 premium medium tank, the Panther-M10, which is disguised as an American M10 Wolverine tank destroyer. It's widely known as the "Warcrime Panther", because DressingAsTheEnemy like that is, yes, a war crime.
** A rather controversial nickname, usually used to rile up German-line fans deemed worryingly enthusiastic (and occasionally used unironically by ''very'' worryingly enthusiastic German-line fans), belongs to the premium 8.8cm version of the Jagdtiger tank destroyer. It's commonly referred to as the "Double Hitler", a reference to [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fourteen_Words the significance of the number eight in white-supremacist numerology]].
** The [=M6A2E1=], a premium variant of the American [=M6=] heavy tank, is nicknamed the 'Mutant 6' or the 'Clownshoe' because of its massive, weirdly-shaped turret. Also called the "Breadloaf King" in China.
** The TOG II* is given the name "Landship", "Banana" and other such terms due to it's size (It's the longest tank in the game). Despite being a difficult tank to play, their owners are often [[http://forum.worldoftanks.com/index.php?/topic/189547-royal-navy-hms-tog-ii-group-chat/ very enthusiastic about them]] and will give them affectionate nicknames that always start with "[=HMS=]".
*** A common term for a platoon of three [=TOGs=] is the "Royal Navy", which the platoon itself will declare at times. Also, in maps with small-sized pathways, a common tactic known as "TOG-blocking" is used by parking the said tank sideways, thus denying enemies access.
** The Aufklärungspanzer Panther light tank added in Patch 8.5 is called the "Awful Panther". It has a tiny turret on a large and easy to hit Panther chassis with a horrible stock gun (fit for Tier ''2/3'') that can see Tier 10 tanks.
** In the SEA server, the M4 Sherman and its many variations are often called [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mantou mantou]] due to the similar shape. Bonus points if they're using white camo.
** On the Chinese server, the VK 16.02 Leopard is referred to as the "[[TokenMiniMoe Loli Panther]]" as it sounds quite similar in Mandarin and looks like a scaled-down version.
** The Japanese Tier-6 Chi-To: it's [[JustForPun dangerously cheesy]].
** Introduced in Update 8.9, the Panzer-Selbstfahrlafette [=IVc=] is affectionately known as "The Flak Bus" due to its box-like armor scheme. Other nicknames include "The Battle Toaster", "Flak Box", and "Fighting Breadbox".
** The vehicles with the "Pz. Sfl." abbreviation as the start of their name became "Panzer Sniffle" (or, as a result of their ridiculously powerful guns and poor performance in all other areas, the less polite Panzer Syphilis) after the total was brought to three of them with 8.9. "Panzer Soufflé" is a less popular nickname.
** The SU-100Y is known as "Boxtank" thanks to [=QuickyBabyTV=].
** The Jagdpanzer E-100 "[[Film/PacificRim Kaiju Jaegeru]]" and [=FV215b=](183) "[[NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast Death Star]]" tank destroyers have earned their nicknames by their ability to instantly wreck any tank that is foolish enough to face them head-on.
** The T95 is occasionally called the "Cleanup Crew" due to its tendency to not get to the fight until it's already over.
*** It's other moniker, the "Doom Turtle", also references its slow speed... and impenetrable frontal armor combined with a 155mm cannon (the same caliber as the BL-10).
*** A battle between two opposing T95s is also sometimes described as akin to a turtle mating ritual, as both T95s try to get to each other's side and rear.
** The [=T110E3=], thanks to its high armor, is occasionally referred to as the [[{{Terminator}} T-800e3]].
** Because of its incredibly small size and unique shape, the French [[FragileSpeedster ELC AMX]] has earned the name 'Pancake Tank'.
*** The Russian Object 416 medium has also inherited the moniker due to having a similar shape.
** The lumbering, ninety-tonne Lowe superheavy tank is known as the 'Slowe', for [[MightyGlacier obvious reasons]].
*** Due to its credit-earning ability as a premium tank, both fans and critics have also nicknamed it "The Bank of Lowe".
*** The special Tier-10 VK 72.01 German Premium heavy tank, which was given out as a reward for being one of the top 3 Clans in a contest has been given the loving moniker 'Failowe' for the fact that it shares a turret with the Lowe, as well as 'Lowetraktor' for its resemblance to the Leichtstraktor.
** Erlenberg is known as Derpenberg since the top left corner of the map has an uncanny quality of bringing out hilarious tendencies of humiliating stupidity in players. Case in Point: [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oFaPhSEUNRY This replay compilation]].
** The German VK 30.02 (M) medium tank is usually referred to as the [=MANther=], due to being the MAN company's initial design for the Panther and to help differentiate it from the VK 30.02 (D) in the same tier.

*** The original Derpgun is an [[{{BFG}} enormous 152mm howitzer]] that's an option on
effective Pre-Order ship, the Russian KV-2[[labelnote:*]]Formerly, ''Gremyeshshy'' Destroyer
** Louie:
the tier 5 KV with an upgraded turret; they were split in a patch that introduced tighter matchmaking[[/labelnote]] tank.

*** In Poland, Hwoarang is often called "Hawranek", after a character from local animated series "Maurycy i Hawranek".
** EWGF - short for Electric Wind God Fist, an improved juggle standing uppercut that leaves trails of lightning (even when it doesn't hit). Owned by the Mishima Karate users (Kazuya, Heihachi, and Devil Jin). Normal Jin also has it, but since it's not an uppercut, it's called EWHF (Electric Wind Hook Fist). Note that this move doesn't appear in the command list (only the normal Wind God Fist is listed); therefore, fans came up with "EWGF" to differentiate the two.

** The game itself has tons of nicknames, including but not limited to ''Hat Fortress'' and ''Hat Simulator 2''[[note]]Both stemming from a Valve joke that the game is a ''War Themed Hat Simulator''[[/note]]
** SPAH (always in all caps) - Spy, named for the Engineer's way of pronouncing his name
** Burce - Sniper, a misspelling of a name stereotypically associated with Australians (thanks to ''Series/MontyPythonsFlyingCircus'')
** [=B^U=] (pronounced 'b to the u') - Also the Sniper, thanks to his face (huge sunglasses, a pointed nose and a half-open drawling mouth). Developed from the use of the same name to make fun of the webcomic ''CtrlAltDel'', for having [[OnlySixFaces limited facial expressions]].
** Engie - Engineer
** Solly - Soldier
** Pyro-kun/Pyro-tan - Pyro, due to the possibility that "he" might actually be a "she".
*** Also W+M1, because ever since the Pyro Update that improved the class's range, some players complain that's all the input the character needs to play.
*** Aero - Name used in response to patch responding to ''that'' which boosted the airblast but reduced the Flamethrower's direct and burning damage (which was mostly rescinded).
*** Flyro, a Pyro wearing their beanie hat unlock.
*** [[SuperMarioBros Hammer Bro]]: a Homewrecker-wielding Pyro. Especially to Engineers.
**** Pyros with the Homewrecker are also sometimes called Pybros (Pyro + bro).
*** CHAOS Pyro: A derisive nickname for poor Pyro players who run into a crowd, set fire to a few enemies and then die, thanks to their justification that they're contributing by 'sowing chaos'.
*** {{Spyro}} - A Spy who takes on the disguise of a Pyro. Note the {{portmanteau}}.
** Fatty, Tubby, Fatso - the Heavy
*** Recently, he has garnered nicknames like HAVY or HEBEE, imitating the spelling of a 6-year-old.
*** Hoovy and Hooby are also accepted nicknames.
*** Heavy itself is shorthand for Heavy Weapons Guy, although it's been canon for quite a while.
** Scoot - Incredibly lazy nickname for the Scout. It stuck, though, probably because of how much it [[TheNapoleon fits]].
*** Also based on how Demoman pronounces the name in his thick Scottish accent.
*** Scout's mom is also often referred to as "Scootma"
** Spamoman - A name given to the Demoman due to the amount of grenades and stickies he has and his overall spam-ability. Used by people who generally dislike that class.
*** Spamobot - The various Demomen robots, other than individual regular Demomen robots, since their sheer number and/or modified weapons let them spam grenades en masse.
*** Demospam - The actual act of spamming stickies and grenades.
** Crocket - A critical rocket, pretty much a guaranteed kill on anyone other than a Heavy. Also known as Critrawket.
*** It may or may not be coincidence that in RealLife there's a missile launcher that fire miniature nukes known as the Davy Crocket.
*** Also, Heavy-specific achievement given for surviving a hit with a Crocket is called "Crock Block".
*** Referred to by name in the Soldier achievement "Crockets Are Such BS", for firing two crit rockets in a row without any boosting effects.
*** Soldier also had [[http://wiki.teamfortress.com/w/images/5/52/Soldier_specialcompleted02.wav this unused line]] for killing people with critical rockets, driving the point home.
** SKILL! - the...somewhat bitter nickname people have for those sudden, unexpected criticals.
** Ambassaderp - Both an affectionate and also possibly derisive nickname for The Spy's Ambassador unlockable revolver. Started showing up when more than one critical per second became possible. Cries of "OP!" could be heard for miles.
** Creditsman/Lucksman - Something about the Sniper's Huntsman bow makes it hit heads [[HitboxDissonance when it plainly shouldn't have]] (or at least according to its detractors,) making it a [[MemeticMutation credit to team]].
*** Huntspam is also used, since the user may shoot off a volley of arrows until one hits/kills.
*** It's also known as the [[spoiler:Cuntsman]] to players who ''really'' dislike it.
** [[spoiler:Cumbucket - Medic, in reference to the [[{{Uke}} guaranteed position]] he takes]] in {{yaoi}} fanworks. (Warning: NSFW)
** Gabe Newell (head of creator Creator/ValveSoftware is known as "Gay Ben" due to his pronunciation of his email address in his commentaries (gaben@valvesoftware.com).
*** He's also known as "Fat." Guess why.
*** He's apparently caught on to all these jokes, and in the commentary nodes for ''Portal 2'' he actually spells it out verbally.
** [=RAWKET LAWNCHUR/LAWNCHAIR=]: Another name for critical rockets, derived from it's now common association with a GratuitousEnglish phrase from ''MetalSlug''.
** [[SarcasmMode pro tier]]: For sucky or broken play styles.
** AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMBASSADOR: A nickname given to a rare glitch that occurred after the Spy and Sniper weapons were introduced, and an update to the backpack system happened shortly thereafter. The glitch involved items overlapping in the backpack, which caused some classes to spawn with incorrect items on certain servers (Scouts with huntsmen, etc). The glitch receives its name from the fact that, if you ended up with the ambassador as an overlapping item, you'd be able to rapid fire bullets at a rate faster than the heavy's minigun with it equipped. As engineer.
** Demoknight: A name given to Demomen who use the Targe and sword/axe combo. May be be used pejoratively by those who think such players are not playing the character right.
*** Charging Tard is also used.
*** Now actually referred by name in the set One Thousand and One Demoknights
** Turtlefort: 2fort for the enforced stalemate
** Trade Fortress, Hat Fortress: the fact that it went from a team-oriented multiplayer game to, quote: "War-themed Hat Simulator" does not help.
** AIDS: The VideoGame/TeamFortressClassic Medic's virus attack, now also used in the sequel to refer to the bleed effect from the Sniper's Tribleman Shiv and the Engineer's Southern Hospitality.
** God Mode: A nickname for gunslinger engies, originating with [[http://www.toptiertactics.com/2010/09/gunslinger-god-mode/ this person.]]
** Tunnel Vision: The "condition" of an inexperienced Sniper focusing exclusively on what's in his rifle's scope, leaving him as primo Spy bait. Not exactly exclusive to [=TF2=] but used most frequently there.
** Direct Shit: The Direct Hit, a weapon that's become rather despise by some people for how difficult the smaller radius of SplashDamage makes it to use.
** Dr. Enforcicle: A Spy using the Dead Ringer watch, the Enforcer, and the Spycicle. Often said to be the one of the most overpowered weapon combinations, due to the Enforcer giving a damage boost for a downside that does not effect the Dead Ringer at all, as well as the fire-immunity the Spycicle temporarily gives (the Pyro is otherwise the Spy's biggest weakness and fire was one of the only three ways to track a Spy activating the Dead Ringer, the other two being single unlockables that can only be used once every twenty seconds).
** Tommy Gruvich: A Heavy using the Tomislav minigun, the GRU (Gloves of Running Urgently) and the Sandvich. This combination is also generally thought to be overpowered, as it eliminates many of the Heavy's weaknesses. The Tomislav is a weaker, but much quieter and faster-starting minigun, so many players use it to ambush enemies, the GRU gives the Heavy (slowest class in the game) more running speed in exchange for health, and the Sandvich heals him. A Heavy can drop Sandviches for allies to pick up and heal themselves with, but most just dropped the Sandvich for themselves for an instant heal (which is why later was patched out, and it instead just gives the Sandvich back).
** Trolldier: A Soldier using the Rocket Jumper (no damage but no self damage for {{Rocket Jump}}s), Mantreads (reduced knockback from damaging sources and a GoombaStomp), and Market Gardener (like the shovel but gets guaranteed crits while in midair). This weapon combination is very ''underpowered'', in contrast to the above two, but professional Soldier players sometimes use this loadout just to make the point that yes, they are so skilled at this game, they can do just fine even with an underpowered combination.
** Flare-Punching: Common Pyro strategy where the Pyro shoots a flare at an enemy (which sets the enemy on fire, but does a paltry 30 damage), and then shoots another flare at the same enemy (which does a much more impressive 90 damage).
** Tobor(s): The Mann Vs. Machine MechaMooks, named after a scrapped texture that was subject to much WildMassGuessing and further [[TeasingCreator teasing from Valve in this regard]].
** Giant Octo-[[HelloInsertNameHere (class)]]: the giant robots being healed/übered by many Medics. Comes from [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1EFYzVvn3zc this popular fan video]] of nine players with a sense of humor and too much time on their hands.
** Revengineer: An Engineer that uses the Combat Mini-Sentry (which fast to build and costs only 100 metal) and the Frontier Justice (which gives a guaranteed [[CriticalHit revenge crit]] for every kill your sentry scored, once it's destroyed).
** [[SuperMarioBros Mario]]'s Boots: The Mantreads, due to the GoombaStomp ability.
** [[VideoGame/Left4Dead2 Left 4tress2/Team 4tress2]]: The 2012 Halloween event, which had a [[NintendoHard rather difficult mission]] in Mann vs Machine with zombies.
** [[DeathOfAThousandCuts Butterknifing]]: Can either mean stabbing someone with the Spy's knife without backstabbing him, or killing him by repeatedly stabbing him this way. Named so because of [[CherryTapping the knife's low damage when not backstabbing]].
** Speed Hack: the Babyface's Blaster, that can make the [[FragileSpeedster already fast Scout]] insanely fast.
** Skillstabs: For when spies pull more tricksy maneuvers in order to drive their knives into enemies' backs:
*** Stairstab: Leading an enemy to chase you upstairs, then jumping backwards over them and stabbing them.
*** Cornerstab: Doing the same with corners, with the expectation that the enemy will turn the corner as tight as they can, so you make a wide berth around them and stab them before they realize you came back.
*** Sidestab: Hitting an enemy on their side ''just'' close enough to their back that it still counts as a OneHitKill.
*** Facestab: ''Much'' more derogatory term for when players get unfairly backstabbed while facing towards the spy, usually due to lag compensation.
** Brass Sentry: The Brass Beast minigun, since it slows Heavy to the point that he might as well be a stationary Sentry Gun while firing.
** Chain Uber/Uber Chain: Two Medics using the default Medigun and Ubersaw, which allows them to keep ubercharging towards enemies and refilling their ubers quickly with the saws.
** Piss Rifle: The Sydney Sleeper, which allows Snipers to bodyshot people more effectively and coat them in Jarate in exchange for headshot capability. Sometimes derogatory, since people claim it's a noob weapon for people who can't hit heads in the first place.
** Pocket Medic: A Medic that only ever heals one teammate, no matter how badly everybody else needs it. The term became so popular, [[http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Pocket_Medic a cosmetic item]] even came out named after it.
* ''TetrisTheGrandMaster 3'':
** "Fanta Grape" as a synonym for [=TGM3=].
** "Kevholding", a term for the use of the Hold feature to stall the game, named after one particular abuser of the technique.
* ''TokimekiMemorial''
** Koala Girl - Miharu
** Slow-mo Girl - Yukari
** [[AnimeHair Conchita]] - Ayako
** [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laure_Manaudou Laure Manaudou]] - Nozomi
* ''VideoGame/{{Touhou}}'':
** "Touhous" or "The Touhous" plural, referring to the cast of the game.
** China - Hong Meiling. When she first made her debut in ''The Embodiment of Scarlet Devil'', people weren't sure whether to read her name as Hong Meiling (the Chinese reading) or Kurenai Misuzu (the Japanese reading). Compromises were reached. ZUN later confirmed that it was Hong Meiling, but [[AscendedMeme even he himself admits to calling her China]].
*** Sometimes called Girl Scout, by those who see a resemblance between the old green Girl Scout uniforms and China/Meiling's outfit.
** Zombie Reimu - Reimu Hakurei in ''Mountain of Faith''. The in-game art depicts her with a peculiarly jaundiced skintone for no apparent reason, leading to the obvious conclusion that she is actually an undead zombie.
*** Sometimes she is "Raymoo".
** The Drunk One - Suika Ibuki
*** Also used to refer to ZUN, who according to fans is, like Suika, ''never sober''.
** Peaches - Tenshi Hinanai, named for the peaches on her hat.
*** Also Rocky, because she fights with stones.
*** "Tenko" is another way of reading the kanji in her name, and is a popular nickname for her in both Western and Eastern fandom.
** PAD-Chou ("Chief PAD") - Sakuya Izayoi, under suspicion of padding, er, a couple of her assets. Derived from the discrepancy between the depiction of said assets in ''Immaterial and Missing Power'' and the other games. She's also sometimes referred to as Sakuya Brando for her rampant ([[ShoutOut intentional]]) similarities with [[Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventure Dio Brando]].
*** [[KnifeNut Knife Maid]] - Sakuya is the maid of the Scarlet Mansion, and fights by throwing knives and manipulating time.
** Patchy - Patchouli Knowledge
*** Mukyuu-chan - Patchy again, due to her fan-created CatchPhrase.
*** Purple Bean Sprout - Used mostly by Japanese fans, though.
** Remi - Remilia Scarlet. Sometimes used by Patchouli, suggesting some level of intimacy.
** Flan or Flan-chan - obviously, Flandre Scarlet, that [[CheerfulChild lovable]] living PersonOfMassDestruction.
** Due to her partner Unzan's tendency to behave in a Stand-like fashion and launch fist-shaped danmaku, Ichirin has earned the nickname of [[Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventure Ichirin Kujo]].
*** [[RocketPunch BRO]][[PowerFist FIST]] - The giant fist danmaku used by Unzan.
** ⑨, or Nine-ball - Cirno. Her meteoric rise to fame began with a game screenshot in the manual of ''Phantasmagoria of Flower View'', in which her in-game sprite was labelled "⑨: Baka".
*** "[[SmallNameBigEgo The Strongest!]]" - another name for Cirno, based on her ''terribly'' inaccurate assessment of her level of power. [[note]]Ironically despite being a weak miniboss, fairies are considered {{Mook}}s so just being a miniboss is an impressive feat for a fairy. So in a sense she might not be THE strongest character in the entire series but she IS the Strongest Fairy.[[/note]] Used either endearingly or mockingly depending on the individual.
*** Sirkku - Cirno's nickname in Finland, partly because it's an actual and common Finnish name, partly because Finnish people can't pronounce "Cirno" or "Chiruno".
** â‘¥, or Six-ball - Reiuji Utsuho, in honor of her ditzy naivete, [[ILoveNuclearPower heat]]-[[PowerOfTheSun based]], rather than ice-based powers, genuinely being [[PersonOfMassDestruction one of the strongest characters]], and being called a birdbrain by her friend Orin in the ''Subterranean Animism'' Extra Stage introduction.
*** Other nicknames include Chernobyl-tan and Nuke-tan (for her nuclear fusion powers), [[Franchise/FinalFantasy Bahamuko]] (for her Mega Flare spellcard), and [[{{Metroid}} Samus]] Unyu (the control rod she wears on her left arm is often depicted as an ArmCannon, and "Unyu?" in her fanmade CatchPhrase[=/=]VerbalTic).
** Youkai Moe - Yuuka Kazami, from her bizarre character profile in the manual for ''Kioh Gyouku'', a game for which ZUN composed the music and in which Yuuka is a playable character.
*** More recently applied to Kogasa as well, due to a massive number of {{Moe}} characteristics she has.
** John Travolta - Iku Nagae, who takes a pose recalling ''SaturdayNightFever'' when summoning lightning.
** "Bucket Ranka" - Kisume, who looks like ''[[MacrossFrontier Macross]]'''s Ranka.
*** Kisume actually more closely resembles Mikaze Honjou from ''Anime/{{Stratos 4}}'', but that show's not as famous. But now you know.
** [[MessianicArchetype Youkai Jesus]] - Byakuren, the buddhist monk who preached for peace between human and youkai, was sealed for a thousand years for her efforts and attracted the respect of a great number of youkai. Also known as the Youchrist.
** CAPTAIN MINAMITSU MURASA - Minamitsu achieved MemeticBadass status following her theme music (''Captain Murasa''), and can now only be respectfully addressed as this.
*** Now, now. You got it wrong. It's CAPTAIN MINAMITSU MOTHERFUCKING MURASA, silly.
** U.F. Owen - Nue's theme, ''Heian Alien'', is reminiscent of ''U.N. Owen was Her?'', the [[MemeticMutation very popular]] theme song of Flandre Scarlet.
** Amulet Chaingun - [=ReimuA=]'s bomb in ''[=UFO=]'', because that's [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin exactly what it looks, sounds, and kills like.]]
** Zayaku ("Suppository") - Reisen Udongein Inaba. Nicknamed like this because her bullets look somewhat like suppositories.
** Daiyousei - "Greater Fairy", a nickname given to the unnamed stage 2 midboss in ''The Embodiment of Scarlet Devil''. Presumed to be a great friend of Cirno.
*** Koakuma - "Little Devil", this is similarly the name given to the game's also unnamed stage 4 midboss. ZUN later [[AscendedFanon used both these names himself]].
*** Tokiko - "Crested ibis child", an originally unnamed book-reading youkai from Curiosities of Lotus Asia.
** Myon - Youmu Konpaku herself (in Eastern fandom) or specifically her ghost half (in Western fandom), after an odd bit of dialogue in the introduction to the Extra Stage of ''Perfect Cherry Blossom'' in which she asks what Yuyuko is doing in such a "myon" place.
** Mannosuke - Rinnosuke, the only humanoid male in the entirety of ''Touhou''.
*** Alternatively, Trollosuke, for when Rinnosuke screws around (no, not that way) with the female cast in fanworks where everyone is Kourin-sexual.
** Primeus - Unnamed Giant Catfish AKA Namazu, the villainous avatar of Taisui Xingjun, a God of Destruction in ''Hisoutensoku''. Named after a MUGEN JokeCharacter by [=RicePigeon=] resembling a giant salmon, originally released under the name of "SSB Yukari". Nicknamed so due to, obviously, being a giant fish, and having made quite a few people go [[GiantSpaceFleaFromNowhere "What the heck is this crap?"]]
** ''Unthinkable Natural Law'' - a nickname for ''Touhou Hisoutensoku'' (12.3) itself, since it was the first ''Touhou'' game without an official English title.
** ZUN himself is referred to as "Kannushi" by some fans -- literally "god master", the title of a Shinto priest.
** Pyonta - Suwako's ''absurdly'' NiceHat. When it's not depicted as being Suwako's [[AFormYouAreComfortableWith actual form]] it is often depicted as an independent entity, either separate from Suwako or a parasite using her as a puppet.
** Pimprisa - Marisa, resident MemeticSexGod.
*** Cho-Marisa - Created due to a glitch in Mountain of Faith where Marisa's normal shot could take out bosses before they even began their attacks. Usually leads to very muscular images of her.
** EX-Rumia - Rumia's fan-created SuperpoweredEvilSide.
** ''Touhouvania'' - nickname for the ''Franchise/{{Castlevania}}'' style fangame ''VideoGame/KoumajouDensetsu''
** DJ Youkai - [[spoiler:Toyosatomimi no Miko, the final boss from Ten Desires]], due to the things that she has in the ears resembles clearly to headphones, plus her power to [[spoiler:listening ten people at the same time]].
** Nyalice- Whenever someone draws [[MarionetteMaster Alice]] with cat ears and a tail, she is almost always referred to as this
*** Lolice- PC-98 Alice

The place (EPISODE 2 spoilers) [[spoiler:where Battler and Beatrice (and any other magical things) give their commentary on the game is usually referred to as the "meta-world."]]
** Musou Rosa - Rosa Ushiromiya, after her awesome moment in EP2 (musou meaning invincible)
** Beato - Beatrice, the nickname derived from the romanization of her name.
*** Also, Beatroll, due to one of her expressions looking suspiciously like 4chan's Trollface, and because she trolls Battler. A lot.
** Trollkastel - Bernkastel, [[spoiler:once she starts smiling]].
** 34 - Lambdadelta, her name equals 34 in greek
*** And Super Paper, after referring to herself as such in EP2's Hidden Tea Party
** Bronove - Ronove, due to his callous speech against Beato and good relationship with Battler
** Moon-chan - Jessica, who is associated with the Moon tarot card
** Magical Gohda Chef - Gohda, from a line in the {{Engrish}} "Happy Maria" song
** Zeppeki-san - Lion, by the reasoning that if s/he is female, his/her chest must be flat as cliff
** [[spoiler:Shkanon, Shkanontrice]] - Used by fans who believe [[spoiler:Shannon, Kanon, and/or Beatrice are the same person]]
** [[=AuAu=]] - Featherine Augustus Aurora
** Evatrice - Abbreviation for EVA-Beatrice
** Sea Kittens - A pun on Umineko, which translates to Sea Cats
* ''VideoGame/ValkyriaChronicles''
** [[Anime/CodeGeass Prince Zero]] - Maximillian, whose Japanese VA is Creator/JunFukuyama doing his "Zero voice".
** Steampunk Cyborg Jesus - Dirk, whose Japanese VA is Creator/SoichiroHoshi using his "Bera voice". And followed up when it was revealed that Dirk was a literal cyborg. one from Avan's dead brother
** Celestial Being Academy - A good number of VAs from Celestial Being's cast voices the protagonists.
* ''VideoGame/WarThunder''
** Battleship-17, Beton-17 - The series of B-17 bombers owes these nicknames to their massively rugged damage models in most patches.
** Fiddles - Machine guns. 0.50 Browning machine guns, however, are often referred to as Freedom Lasers thanks to both some of their tracer rounds looking like a laser lightshow and their good damage.
** Lawnmovers - The derisive nickname for people, particularly those flying fighter aircraft, who go against ground targets, instead of contesting the air.
** Noobfire - Spitfire fighter, most models of which are (in)famous for having no obvious weak points in the game.
** Pedobears - A very common name for experienced players who deliberately play at low tiers to hunt newbies with their high player and in-game crew experience.
** Rapeboat - H6K floatplane bomber, boasting massive armament and durability for its tier. Also, Banana (thanks to its shape).
** Sealclubbing, often shortened to just "clubbing" - Winning effortlessly, either because your opponents are inept or, more likely, because you fly/drive whatever is the most powerful and overwhelming in the current patch.
** Stalinwood - The general nickname for Russian planes (historically many had wooden construction), often with implication of massive durability.
** UFO - Any plane accused of having unrealistically good flight model.
* ''VideoGame/WingCommander'' series:
** "Bluehair", the PlayerCharacter, before he was given a name in ''VideoGame/WingCommander III'', for the color given the character's hair.
** Likewise, in Privateer, the PlayerCharacter was generally referred to by the fans as "Brownhair", for the same reason.
* ''VideoGame/WipEout''
** "Wuss Wagon" is the name given to the Rescue-Bots found in the first four games. What they do is place your ship back on the track, in case you should you fall off.
** "Liveries" are the unlockable paint jobs. (Although this may just be British lingo)
* ''VideoGame/TheWonderful101'':
** The eponymous group of {{Henshin Hero}}es are known as "[[VideoGame/ViewtifulJoe Viewtiful]] VideoGame/{{Pikmin}}".
* ''VideoGame/TheWorldEndsWithYou''
** Jesus Beam, Super Jesus Beams, and Jesus Meteor - Joshua's [[WhatDoYouMeanItsNotSymbolic oh so subtle]] beam attacks.
*** The fact that "Jesus" is the Greek transliteration of "Joshua" doesn't help much (both mean "God saves").
** Asshole Mode Raiden - Joshua, again. The YourPrincessIsInAnotherCastle twist of ''TWEWY'' takes your partner and gives you a character who scientifically equates to [[TheScrappy Rai]][[ReplacementScrappy den]] from ''{{Metal Gear Solid 2|SonsOfLiberty}}'', if he had an [[JerkAss attitude]] that would make Squall's nonsense in ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyVIII'' look funny in comparison.
** Mister Badtouch: Mr. Hanekoma. You don't want to know. Trust me.
** Hatri - Before the game was released, many English-speaking fans referred to Shiki as this, due to her resemblance to Kairi from Kingdom Hearts... wearing a hat.
** [[InfinityPlusOneSword The HP]] [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin Hax Feather.]]
* ''VideoGame/TheWolfAmongUs'':
** "Dickby" for a Bigby who makes "mean" choices and has a CowboyCop playstyle
* ''WorldOfWarcraft''
** Drood, Droodad, dr00d, DURID - Any Druid.
*** Feral-combat druids get called "bears", "bares" or "baers" (if they're usually in their ursine warrior-mimic form in a fight) or "kitties" and "cats" (for those who favor the feline "rogue" form). Bear druids are known as "Winky tanks" on some servers. Restoration druids are "trees." As for ''balance'' druids...
*** There's also Polish nickname "Misiek" for bear form which could be translated as "Teddy".
** [=OOMkin=], Boomkin, Doomkin - The druid's moonkin form, which deals lots of damage but goes through mana very quickly to do so. Less often, Lazer Chicken or Nuklear Rooster.
*** Also Boom-Boom, Boomer, Critbird, Space Owl, Turkey. Pretty much any combination of "Laser", "Crit", or "Space" and "Bird", "Chicken", or "Turkey".
*** And with the addition of Wild Mushroom in Cataclysm, some are already being called Shroomkin.
*** Panzerkin - A druid who tanks as a Moonkin rather than as a Bear, the more obvious form. Largely abandoned as changes to the game have made Panzerkins far less effective.
*** Some people call them KFC (Kentucky Frying Chickens).
*** "OOMkin" started to die off after the release of ''Wrath of the Lich King'', since the changes to Moonkin form resulted in them being able to maintain their mana supply for much longer periods of time.
** Rawrbomb, Bearbomb - A technique where a (feral) Druid shifts from flying form, midflight, into Bear form and using ''Feral Charge'' to jump the target while avoiding fall damage. This does not necessarily need to be done from flight form. It is a common tactic in Arathi Basin. A failed attempt is known as Rawrsplat.
*** Also Drop-Bear (used as a verb). Perhaps not ''entirely'' by coincidence, 'drop-bears' are a form of practical joke in Australia, where clueless tourists will be warned to watch out for 'drop-bears' that fall out of trees onto your head. No such creatures exist, of course.
*** Warriors can take advantage of this as well simply by attacking from their flying mount, often called "Warrior Slow Fall".
** Huntard - A hunter who never learned how to properly pull, control his pet, or use traps -- all essential hunter skills. The common joke is that the majority of Hunters are Huntards - and this joke is made by Hunter players.
*** Easymode = Beast mastery hunter.
*** Also "Auto-Shot Feed Pet" for the low-effort playstyle that most Huntards use - basically all they do is auto-attack and remember to feed their pet every now and then. A variant is "Feed Shot Auto Pet" for those who fail to grasp the class's base mechanics.
*** Hunter Loot - pretty much anything remotely of value, thanks to the Huntard tendency to constantly Need on Need/Greed rolls. To be fair, early in the game's life, the low number of melee weapons with stats appropriate for hunters led some to declare that any melee weapon with Agility on it should be left for Hunters, as nothing else was of any use to them. This devolved into the tendency for commenters on fansite databases to declare any [[strike:reasonably desirable or powerful]] item as [[MemeticMutation "hunter gear"]], even if hunters are incapable of equipping the item, or if [[UpToEleven it isn't even gear to begin with]].
** Raggy, Rags - Ragnaros, the final boss of the pre-expansion ultimate raid dungeon, Molten Core
** Memegiver - Prince Malchezaar, the final boss of the Burning Crusade raid dungeon Karazhan. Referred to as such on Boulderfist because he drops Gorehowl, a weapon commonly spammed on Boulderfist's trade chat for reasons not quite clear.
*** Also, "Prince Hotpants" in more general use.
** The obvious "Shammy" for shaman; "Healy" for their Restoration (Healing) spec, "Zappy" for their Elemental (caster) spec and "Bashy" for their Enchancement (melee) spec
*** The more prosaic abbreviations "Resto", "Ele" and "Enh" are also in use, each coupled with "Shammy".
*** Shamikaze - A shaman that maximizes burst damage at the cost of survivability.
** Hell/lock cookies/candies - Healthstones distributed by a warlock. Sometimes come in an evil-looking jar, and said to be made of souls that the warlock as drained.
*** They have also been called boogers/crystalized boogers from their color. Also called gumballs and their summoning item as a gumball machine.
*** Fel candy is also a semi-popular name for them.
*** Summonsing portals are often called "Lock TV", due to looking a little like a television set. Also known as the Doom Closet, as they rise up out of the ground and open like a wardrobe.
** Muffin Factory - At Blizzcon, during the announcement of the first expansion, one of the fans asked the panel, "Will mages be getting something for mass food distribution, like muffin factories?" This has led to this name being used.
** Welfare Epics - Gear acquired for [=PvE=] use by farming Honour points in [=PvP=]. Used primarily as a source of derision; to speak of a player having 'Welfare Epics' in a World of Warcraft setting usually implies that that player is unskilled or otherwise didn't take any real risk to obtain the gear.
** Space Cow, Space Goat, Space Pony, Squidcow, Squidgoat, Squidhead, Big Blue, Blueberry, Smurf - Draenei. Named so because they have hooves, facial tendrils ([[BizarreSexualDimorphism well the males anyway, those of the females are behind the ears]]), blue skin, and arrived on Azeroth by means of [[{{Magitek}} an interdimensional vessel]]. (The list of nicknames is actually ''much'' longer than that, and not all of them are polite.)
*** Said facial tendrils are sometimes called "chintacles".
*** To add to the confusion, "space goat" is also used to mean "talbuk" (an Outland beast resembling an alien ibex) and "blueberry" can also mean "voidwalker."
** Nelfs/Belfs - [[OurElvesAreBetter Night Elves/Blood Elves]].
** Pally - Any Paladin. Belfadin refers specifically to Blood Elf Paladins.
*** "Gayladin" for [[CampGay Male Blood Elves]]
*** "Beefadin" for the upcoming Tauren paladins.
** Tankadin/Protadin - Paladins that focus on the Protection talent tree, giving them almost stupidly high damage absorbtion.
*** A build that was only possible much earlier in the game, which involving a glitchy talent called 'Reckoning'. The talent would give a chance for the Paladin to gain an extra attack when hit. However, if they never attacked, the extra attacks would stack up until they did, potentially doing a OneHitKill against enemies and players by a flurry of many sudden attacks in an instant. If out of range or otherwise stopped from performing an attack when initiating the auto-attack, the extra attacks would be lost inconsequentially, but the sheer amount of damage that could be done by the attack had it nicknamed the 'Reck(oning) Bomb'.
*** Contrast Healadin for healing pallies, and Retadin (or the pejorative Retardin) for damage-per-second paladins (a controversial playstyle, as the spec is difficult to play well, and played badly notoriously often). An older variation of Healadin was Clothadin, thanks to the fact that holy paladins usually performed better in cloth items (rather than plate) in raids in vanilla [=WoW=]. And "shockadins", an extinct form of half holy (down to holy shock) and ret, which basically made them powerful ranged casters as well as melee. Not viable anymore though.
**** Paladins have been given [[MemeticMutation many nicknames]]; some pointless, other less so; involving '-adin'. This probably started from VideoGame/{{Diablo}} higher on the list.
*** Wings and Ret bull for Avenging Wrath, a paladin signature that increases the damage and healing of said paladin by 20% and gives him access to his most powerful attack without having to first lower his target to under 20% hp. It's shown as a pair of wings, and has been the butt of no end of jokes.
** Rocky - The Elemental summoned into being by a shaman's Earth Elemental Totem.
** Felpuppy - Any Felhound, particularly the ones summoned by warlocks.
** Dorf - Dwarves
** Funderstorm - the Eleshammy's Thunderstorm spell that is used for knocking people away from the caster, usually off a cliff where they would die from falling damage.
*** Also known as Thunderfuck
** Blueberry - Warlock Voidwalker minion
*** Also, Volkswagen due to the shared abbreviation.
** The Warlock Succubus pet is referred to as your "slut" or "whore" as much as "succubus", with "suck" being a popular in-between for obvious reasons.
*** Also "fel-slut," "fel-hussy," and so on.
*** "Spanky" is also a less derisive option while still calling attention to the fact she's a sex demon. The name comes from the fact when idle every minute or so she'll shake her ass then smack it.
** Welcomebear - The Diseased Black Bears that loiter just across the border between the level-50+ Western Plaguelands and (Forsaken starting area) Tirisfal Glades. Fond of killing newbies that take the wrong turn out of Tirisfal.
*** Also used in reference to the similarly undead-looking Angerclaw Bears just past the border between Ashenvale (levels 18 to 30) and Felwood (levels 47 to 55).
*** Also potentially, Welcomespiders for the Plaguelands or Welcomewolves for Felwood. You may also see Welcome-Elementals for the otherwise unobstructed border between Redridge Mountains (roughly 15-20) and Burning Steppes (about 50-53).
** Rouge - A common misspelling of "rogue;" may be used ironically. [[MemeticMutation It should be noted that rouges are]] [[IncrediblyLamePun overpowdered.]]
** Thongbear - Furbolgs in general, as they are anthropomorphic bears. In thongs.
*** Furbies has often been used, sometimes. (Bloodscalp)
**** And Fuzzbutts.
** Level FUCK - Running into an enemy who is 10+ levels higher than you, in which their level is displayed as a skull. The common reaction to it is, "I'm being attacked by a level -- ''(gets attacked, dies)'' -- FUCK!"
** Cow, Moo-Cow, Bull - Tauren, for [[ALoadOfBull obvious reasons]].
*** Holy Cow – The recently implemented tauren paladins and priests, collectively. You automatically get a free pass at calling a player this if their name is something same or similar to Retbull, Holycow, or Serhoofim.
**** Hell one of the Specs for paladins and priests is holy
*** Unholy Cow - Unholy-spec Death Knight Tauren.
** Lagforge, Lagginforge, Ironlag - a now-deprecated nickname that was once applied to the dwarven city of Ironforge -- in the first year of the game, Ironforge housed one of two auction houses in the ''entire'' game world, which caused every player who required their services to visit the city. Additionally, the bank, mailbox, auction house, and main entrance were all within 150 feet of each other which concentrated the players even more.
** Lagrimmar - Orgrimmar; see previous.
*** Thrall-Mart - the Orgrimmar auction house.
** Lag-rath - Shattrath City; see Ironforge.
** [=DaLAGran=], Lag-aran - Dalaran; see Ironforge.
** Cybermoon - derisive nickname for Silvermoon City, largely on RP servers
** Pornshire - Goldshire; see "Cybermoon."
** Cutefase - A female troll character with the youthful, deadpan (or, alternately, stoned-looking) face -- which happens to be the only one that isn't generally considered ugly or at least evil-looking, and is therefore the most popular. Especially when paired with the smallest possible tusks, a topknot, or both.
*** Less commonly, a female orc character with the young-looking face option.
*** A "Smoothfase" is a male draenei devoid of facial hair and tendrils. A completely bald Smoothfase is a "Cueball." A "Tailfase" (that's the polite term) is a male draenei with the single tendril and accompanying Fu Manchu mustache (ditto).
** Crack Elf - Any blood elf, due to their magical addiction and occasionally jittery mannerisms.
*** Also, Blood Elves get called "fabulous" as often as possible, due to the males and females both being rather feminine.
*** Also commonly used to describe the Wretched, a subspecies of High/Blood Elves that have completely succumbed to magical addiction. ("crackelf" is even the actual name for their in-game model.)
** Shamadruidin - Hybrid classes in general.
** Quantumdruid/quantumshammy/quantumpally - used in reference to hybrid players who will respec at the drop of anything resembling a hat, for they are in a state of constant flux.
** Ganklethorn Hell - used on [[PlayerVersusPlayer PvP]] servers for Stranglethorn Vale since it is technically a high 20's ~ mid 30's zone with a high traffic of high level characters through it.
*** Also "Stranglepwn Vale" and any number of other variations.
** Hillspwn, Ganksbrad, Hellsbrad, Hillsbrad Foothell, and any number of variations on those themes - Hillsbrad Foothills, for the same reason.
** Baron Pants - Baron Rivendare from Stratholme; named for his droping the Dungeon Set 1 Legs. His horse was nicknamed "Trousers" for similar reasons.
** Sylvie W - Derisive nickname for Sylvannas Windrunner due to her tendency to be depicted as a {{Woobie}} in fanfiction and RP. Hint: she is a JerkassWoobie.
** King Grunty, Grunty [=McGruntypants=] - King Varian Wrynn, named largely for his Jerkass characterization.
*** Also "[[ConanTheBarbarian Varian the Barbarian]]," "King Goku" (for his {{Animesque}} hairdo), "[[ConanTheBarbarian Conan]] the [[{{Animesque}} Weaboo]]," "[[LanternJawOfJustice King Chin]]," and "Fighty [=McChin=]."
*** "Varian Chinn/Chynn" is another popular variant.
** Crotchbumtits - Valeera Sanguinar from the comic, due to the artist's tendency to... [[{{Fanservice}} focus]] on these body parts.
** Ras Crossdresser - A boss called Ras Frostwhisper due to him appearing to wear a dress
*** Amnennar the Crossdresser - Another lich boss, for the same reason.
** Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Dramaseeker, Dramafury = a legendary one-handed sword that was called such by some guilds who were destroyed by fights over people who wanted that drop.
** Sulfuras, the Hand of Drama - A Legendary two-handed mace that also had caused people to argue over wanting it.
** Ashkandi, the Sword of Drama - An epic two-handed sword dropped by the final boss in Blackwing Lair. Again, caused people to fight over it.
*** Also known as Ass Candy.
** Vendorstrike - A polearm called Thunderstrike and Shadowstrike that was dropped by a boss very late in Molten Core that was OvershadowedByAwesome and thus commonly disenchanted or vendored.
*** Later also called Nexusstrike, after the Nexus Crystal that could be acquired from disenchanting one.
** Molten Bore, Borewing Lair, Ahn'Boreaj, Haxxrammas - People who had grown tired of raiding these dungeons referred to them with names like these.
** Toolhelm, Asshat, Asshelm, Dickhelm, Standral Faghelm - [[TheScrappy Fandral Staghelm]], Archdruid of the Alliance and all-around {{jerkass}}.
*** One name that's popped up as of Patch 4.2 is "Majorhomo"
** Crazy Cat Lady -- Auriaya, a boss in the Ulduar instance. She is accompanied by four guardian panthers, will summon another panther guardian if you kill the four original ones, and periodically summons a swarm of cats (actually more panthers, but they are much smaller than her guardians) to come attack the whole group. Two of her attacks are "Horrifying Screech" and "Sonic Screech." When she is killed, she screams like, well, like a crazy cat lady.
*** Donni Anthania is the vendor of all of the companion pet cats for Alliance players. Her in-game title ''is'' "Crazy Cat Lady."
** Death Knoob, Deathtard, Dork Knight, Dunce Knight, Fail Knight -- Similar to "huntard", a poorly-played death knight.
*** To get more specific: a Griptard is a death knight who is willfully unfamiliar with the proper use of the Death Grip ability, while an Emo Knight is an obnoxiously {{wangst}}y death knight roleplayer.
** Lavaman - [[spoiler: Highlord Bolvar Fordragon]] after getting seriously messed up from both [[spoiler: flesh-melting-zombie-virus and subsequent incineration, followed by torture he withstood despite it being so hardcore that it snapped the son of the Warcraft-universe equivalent of Chuck Norris almost immediately]], possibly because his skin now looks as though it's covered in molten lava.
*** Actually the name came from "lavaman" being the official name for that sprite in the games text files. In fact the first time people saw it all they knew was that name. (Though some did guess at it being him.)
** Garrosh Hecksqueak, Durrosh Failscream, Garrosh Hecksqueal, Garrosh Heckwhimper, Derposh Hurrscream, Squeal: [[CreatorsPet Garrosh]] [[JerkAss Hellscream]].
** Monessa: A [[CuteMonsterGirl female troll]]. From the trollish habit of addressing everyone as "mon," plus a feminine suffix.
** A resto shaman's Chain Heal gets called "banana beams", "Jesus Beams", or "healing lasers" due to their yellow, beam-like appearance.
** Soda machines/Coke machines: The large machines in Gnomeregan that dispense Essential Artifacts (needed for a quest), named because they resemble vending machines.
** Login Dragon: Sindragosa, since she is the first thing the player see in Wrath of The Lich King login screen, especially when everyone had yet to learn her name.
*** This title now applies to Deathwing since the release of ''Cataclysm'', although due to proper marketing, more people know his actual name.
** Frogger: A hallway in Naxxramas just after the fight with Patchwerk that is patrolled by several rows of infinitely respawning slimes, which inflict heavy damage and nearly kill most players in one hit if they merely get close to them. They move across the width of the walkway, and players must avoid them like they do the cars in Frogger. This is somewhat notorious because people tend to die fairly often on this part.
*** Done again in Ulduar, just before Mimiron, with a racetrack of explosive mini-cars that surround Mimiron's "workshop".
*** And again in an Icecrowl Citadel hallway between the fourth boss and the Upper Spire, where players must time their movements to avoid what looks like fog, and so it is often called Fogger.
** 3d: Shorthand for referring to a group that is attempting to kill Sartharion in Obsidian Sanctum without killing the Twilight Drakes (which there are three of, and so, 3 drakes or 3d), which makes the fight ''much'' more difficult, but grants three achievements and the chance to win a Twilight Drake mount.
** Lightbulb: Lord Victor Nefarius, the boss of Blackrock Spire, named after Vic Fontaine, the holographic entertainer from ''Star Trek: Deep Space Nine'', whose first line in the series is 'I know what you're thinking: sweet pipes for a light bulb.'
** Chocobo: the Blood Elf hawkstrider mounts, after the Final Fantasy bird of that name.
** That Retarded Horse, Sparklepony, Spony: the Celestial Steed, the first mount to go on sale at the Blizzard cash store.
** Lootship: Nickname for the Gunship Battle, by far the easiest boss encounter in Icecrown Citadel.
** RP: A term that applies to cutscenes between lore characters that raid members have to sit through before beginning battle or getting at loot, such as the 40-second dialogue between Tirion Fordring and the Lich King at the start of the Lich King encounter.
** Heffalump, Shoopuf: The draenei elekk mounts, after (respectively) the beasts from Franchise/WinnieThePooh and ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyX''.
** Lapdogen: Female worgen, due to their alleged greater resemblance to Chihuahuas or some other toy breed than wolves.
** Chinwing, Deathchin: nickname given to the new BigBad, Deathwing, [[LanternJawOfJustice for obvious reasons.]]
** {{Captain Planet|AndThePlaneteers}}: The Elementium Monstrosity, a raid boss in Bastion of Twilight that is the fusion of the elemental Ascendant Lords [[MakingASplash Felu]][[AnIcePerson dius]], [[KillItWithFire Ignacious]], [[DishingOutDirt Terrastra]] and [[BlowYouAway Ar]][[ShockAndAwe ion]], a combination of all the elements that made up Captain Planet (except [[WhatKindOfLamePowerIsHeartAnyway he]][[HeartIsAnAwesomePower art]]).
** Commander Skipvale: Commander Springvale, an optional boss in Shadowfang Keep. Since he's more difficult than many of the other Heroic bosses, drops little in the way of good loot, and a major exploit to draw him away from his adds has been removed, many groups choose to walk past him.
** Wrath Baby: Derisive term used by more experienced players on those who joined during [[ItsEasySoItSucks Wrath of the Lich King]], and who feel that [[SuffersNewbiesPoorly such players are not prepared for difficult content]].
** The high-level Priest spell [[http://www.wowhead.com/spell=73325 "Leap Of Faith"]] is almost always called "Life Grip" due to being the exact opposite of the Death Knight's "Death Grip". (DG pulls an ''enemy'' towards you at high speeds, LoF/LG pulls a ''friendly player'' towards you at high speeds.)
** Lord Random- Lord Rhyolith, a boss in the Firelands, due to [[LuckBasedMission the chance of success being largely determined by where the volcanoes spawn]], as making him stomp on them reduces his armor, but leaving them up increases the damage the raid takes.
*** "Driving"- The name for a single player telling the melee what direction to turn Rhyolith so that he steps on the volcanoes and does not reach the edge (which causes him to wipe the raid). "Drunk driving" is a term used for especially poor driving, usually if he hits the edge.
** Elevator Boss - The elevator in Blackwing Descent. If you're not quick enough, you miss the elevator and fall to your death.
** Green Jesus, Thrally Sue, Super Jesus, Orc Jesus - Derogatory names for Thrall since his [[CreatorsPet sudden importance in Cataclysm]].
** [[Franchise/{{Pokemon}} [=PokéWoW=]]] - The Pet Battle minigame planned for inclusion in the ''Mists of Pandaria'' expansion.
*** {{Farmville}} - another ''Pandaria'' minigame, where one faction lets players grow vegetables on a farm.
** Bruced: A term for what happens to a player who dies to [[WarmUpBoss Bruce, the first opponent of the Brawler's Guild]], who has relatively little HP, and only one major attack, which simply requires running away from his mouth before he finishes his cast.
** Looking For Retards: One derisive name for the Looking for Raid feature, given by those who don't like being grouped with incompetent and/or under-geared players.
** Fistweaver/Fistweaving: The healing specialization of the Monk class is called "Mistweaver". There are two ways to heal allies as a Mistweaver: simply casting healing spells like a conventional WhiteMage/ [[TheMedic medic]], or smacking the enemy with your fists and feet and letting the passive "Eminence" effect (half of all damage you do automatically heals an ally within 20 yards) do the healing for you. This second style is humorously called "fistweaving".
* ''VideoGame/{{X}}-Universe'' series:
** "Auto-pillock", for ArtificialStupidity in starship guidance (e.g. ship's autopilot has trouble avoiding ''an immobile asteroid several kilometers in diameter''). "Bug-splatting" is a subtype where an NPC freighter (for instance) doesn't turn soon enough to avoid an oncoming player-piloted capital ship and gets run over.
** "Betty" is the ship's ComputerVoice.
** "Ionized flak" is when you take a capital ship and combine Cluster Flak Arrays with Ion Disruptors in the same gun battery. The Ion-Ds can use the shrapnel from the [=CFAs=] to jump between targets, greatly increasing the weapon's range. Ionized flak is prone to friendly fire.
** "Pirate Alley", also called the "Pirate Highway", is a cluster of [[SpacePirate pirate]] sectors in the northwest region of the universe map in ''X3''.[[labelnote:Specifically]]Farnham's Legend, Bala Gi's Joy, Olmancketslat's Treaty, Split Fire, Brennan's Triumph, Danna's Chance, Nopelios' Memorial, and Hatikvah's Faith[[/labelnote]] Fleets clash there all the time, and scooping up {{random drop}}s is a good source of income in the early game.
* WWE Attitude - WWE 13 in reference to the Playstation game WWF Attitude.
* ''VideoGame/{{X-COM}}'':
** [[Franchise/BioShock XenoShock]]: Initially a detractor nickname for the reboot before it got handed over to Firaxis instead of 2K Marin.
** Mr. Angry Red Suit: The Muton Commander from the opening cutscene, who screams angrily at the X-COM soldiers before retreating [[DummiedOut to parts of the game code unseen in normal gameplay]].
** Smiley, Rape Face, Rape Bug: The original version of the Chryssalid [[http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/NightmareFuel/X-COM (Pictured on the left)]] in all its FaceFullOfAlienWingWong glory and because of its decidedly unsettling intersection of MemeticMolester and SlasherSmile. Plenty of fanart references both the deranged, creepy smile and its unsettling PersonalSpaceInvader and ChestBurster method of attack and reproduction.
* ''VideoGame/{{Xenoblade}}'': Seven, used to refer to the seventh and last party member anywhere where spoilers are a concern. This is because of their status as one of the game's {{Walking Spoiler}}s. [[spoiler:Seven's identity is former party member Fiora brought back from the dead]].
