** Any instance of swearing, {{fanservice}}, ToiletHumor, or violence, regardless of blatantness or the show's target audience/rating. If a character manages to clearly say "asshole" in your show, it's totally because the censors failed to notice the word, and not because they knew it was there but decided it was acceptable given the show's rating. Bonus points if the work is published on the internet and has no Radar watching it for inappropriate content.
** A kid-friendly work [[ShoutOut references]] a not-so-kid-friendly work or makes a subtle not-so-kid-friendly joke. It doesn't matter if the reference itself contains no objectionable content or kids won't even notice that there ''is'' an adult joke there -- they could still be exposed to some inappropriate stuff if they go watch the source material or hear someone explain the joke. Keep in mind that you can't use ParentalBonus here -- it emphasizes that the work is supposed to be kid-friendly and therefore bad.
** [[DepartmentOfRedundancyDepartment An adult joke in an adult show]]. [[note]]This use to be a pothole to the (removed) radar page of WesternAnimation/FamilyGuy. It's a TV-14/TV-MA show, so there ''is'' no radar to get past. It probably had to do with Quagmire's comment on how the kids won't understand [[DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything what he's doing]].[[/note]]

** Any boss that is even remotely unexpected, especially if it's an EldritchAbomination or just [[NonstandardCharacterDesign looks unusual]] compared to other bosses in the game.

* MindScrew: Anything that you find confusing, including any work that involves TimeTravel, {{Parallel Universe}}s, OrWasItADream, and/or generally trippy imagery.
* MonsterFangirl:
** Someone who likes a CuteMonsterGirl, or vice versa.
** A character supports a NonMaliciousMonster.
** A character has any kind of positive opinion on a villain.
* TheMoralSubstitute:
** A work that is similar to a work you like, but is targeted towards a religious or political group you disagree with. Remember to subtly imply that [[TheyCopiedItSoItSucks the work is inferior due to being an imitation]] and that the target group is worthy of being mocked for being too sensitive and needing their own version.
** If the Moral Substitute turns out to not be that bad compared to the original, it's a {{subversion}}. After all, being inferior to the original is a critical part of this trope.
** If you ''really strongly'' disagree with the group the work is targeted at, then it's an inversion, since the group in question is evil, and therefore any work made specifically for them must be immoral.
