The Blue Suns are a successor chapter to the WhiteScars based on the heavily forested DeathWorld Antarius, located a few light-years off one of the major Chaos invasion routes from the Eye of Terror. The chapter prizes the gathering of knowledge and tactical flexibility over fanaticism, view the Codex Astartes as merely one tactical possibility of many, and are overall pretty optimistic.

Added DiffLines:

* EnemyMine: They have an extremely tense relationship with an Eldar Craftworld that settled down near their territory, one that developed after the two sides were forced to work together to defeat a particularly bad Chaos incursion. Most of the time it amounts to "we stay off your planets, you stay off ours," but they do trade information once in a while.

Added DiffLines:

* HumansAreWhite: Averted. Their original recruitment stock was descended from central Asians, same as the White Scars, and they aren't picky about which planets near Antarius they recruit from: their current chapter master is ethnically black.

* ProudScholarRace: The Blue Suns make a habit of carefully studying the tactics used by other armies to learn what works and what doesn't. For example, faced with the Tau, they've learned that the Ethereal is the weak point and prefer to launch a diversionary attack to draw off their forces, then deep-strike a couple squads of Terminators right onto the Ethereal's head.

The Blue Suns are a Fanon non-canon loyalist Adeptus Astartes chapter in the TabletopGame/Warhammer 40000 universe. A joke chapter originally developed by Tropers/StarSword for VideoGame/DawnOfWar multiplayer games, Tropers/StarSword's tendency to roleplay led to the creation of a backstory.

!!Tropes exhibited by the Blue Suns include:
* AuthorAppeal: The somewhat silly approach to 40k lore and the backstory is largely due to Tropers/StarSword preferring the parts of the mythos that don't take the GRIMDARK too seriously (e.g. the Literature/CiaphasCain series).
* FutureImperfect: The Blue Suns are so named because their founder ran across a partial DVD set of Series/Firefly and didn't quite understand what he was looking at.
