* Speaking of the Buu saga, we can't forget Buu's first appearance, who actually counts ''twice''. When he is first summoned his body shape, smiling face and bumbling personality leaves everyone perplexed. Then Dabura, who was established to be stronger than Cell, makes the mistake of mocking him, only to be completely demolished, humiliated and, eventually, eaten alive. However, there is more to Buu than raw power: after facing him, Goku actually recognizes him as an intelligent fighter, able to quickly learn an opponent's techniques, and Babidi learns the hard way that his cunning extends beyond combat when Buu tricks him coming closer and stops him from talking, so he can't use his incantation on Buu, and is finally killed.

* Beerus may be a fun-loving cat person who is extremely [[ObsessedWithFood food obsessed]] and [[HeavySleeper sleeps so deeply that it takes bombs to wake him up]], but he is the [[PersonOfMassDestruction God of Destruction]], who also happens to have a lot of {{Berserk Button}}s and is extremely fond of {{Disproportionate Retribution}}s. [[spoiler: His power comes into play when he [[CurbStompBattle effortlessly turns Zamasu to dust with just the word "Hakai".]]]]

** Also, when talking about human limits, we are still talking about [[CharlesAtlasSuperpower Dragon Ball]] human limits. Early in the Buu saga, we see a flashback to his fight against Spopovich (who is twice Satan's already impressive size), with Satan taking Spopovich out ''with just one kick''. He would have actually been a formidable opponent in pre-Z Budokai Tenkaichi, and that despite his lack of ki training. It's enough to make you regret that they didn't train him in ''Super'', and wonder what could have been.

[[spoiler: His power comes into play when he [[CurbStompBattle effortlessly turns Zamasu to dust with just the word "Hakai".]]]]]]]] He is also completely unfazed by the perspective of facing a Zamasu made immortal by the Super dragon balls, obliterating him off-screen, and in the manga the preliminary round of the Tournament of power sees all the other Gods of Destruction team up against him, and not only he manages to last until they start turning against each other, he is also one of the last two left standing (granted, we saw Belmond only pretending to be down, and might not have been the only one, but still).

* Mr. Satan is a hammy FakeUltimateHero, and a complete ButtMonkey when dealing with the heroes. He's also the single strongest human who can't use ''ki'' and an extremely competent martial artist in his own right ([[OvershadowedByAwesome even if within human limits]]), and during the Buu Saga he almost solved the entire conflict by ''making Buu pull a HeelFaceTurn'', before outside interference caused him to turn into Super Buu.

He then proves he deserves his title of the world’s champion by using his PopularityPower to get all the people of Earth to contribute to Goku’s Spirit Bomb against Kid Buu, and even risks himself to get Vegeta out of the line of fire.

Now that Broly is canon, Goku gets displaced to the second place.

** With Goku, it is very easy to forget, given his laid back and [[ManChild childish demeanor]], that he is one of the strongest beings in the universe and is currently [[spoiler: the strongest mortal fighter in Universe 7]]. When he was a child, and to a lesser extent as an adult, fighting was more of a game than anything serious. He even referred to fighting as playing. However, when things go to hell, and his friends and family are on the line, he becomes one of the most dangerous and competent people in the series, even outside of fighting. Even the tone of his voice changes to show that he's dead serious, and his friends and foes note when his demeanor is different. Woe to the foe who pushes him to his RageBreakingPoint.

* Many of the benevolent main characters, including Goku, Gohan, etc. have displayed this trait (though they are not technically bumbling).

** Much like his father, Gohan has an easy-going, innocent demeanor with a massive dose of dork, and unlike his father, he doesn't like fighting and would rather study. However, he is among the strongest in the universe and could become ''the'' strongest if he desired. And let's not get started on what happens when he reaches his RageBreakingPoint.
* Master Roshi, Goku's first teacher, provides the page image for a ''reason''. He's short, [[OlderThanHeLooks old]], and is an [[DirtyOldMan unabashed pervert]]. Yet in ''Manga/DragonBall'' he easily takes out a squad of Red Ribbon Army soldiers that invade his island, destroys an entire mountain (and later, [[spoiler: the moon]]) with his Max Power Kamehameha, and comes close to defeating [[spoiler: King Piccolo]] on his own. In the second ''Anime/DragonBallZ'' movie "World's Strongest", he even holds his own quite impressively against cybernetic monsters (Although naturally this doesn't last, as the movie is all about Goku, but you get the point) and in Super he is shown to be able to fight off Frieza's soldiers, could match Goku blow for blow after being hypnotized, and uses his martial arts prowess and cunning to [[spoiler: take out at least 4 people in the Tournament of Power.]] Even Beerus, JerkassGod of Destruction, is very impressed by him.
* In the 23rd Martial Arts tournament, we see one of the finalists is just a simple bespectacled scaredy-cat of a man who apparently has only won his matches because he's a huge klutz that happens to just trip and knock the opponent in the correct spot to make them to fall of the ring. It's not until he's fighting Yamcha that he drops the act and reveals [[spoiler: He's actually Kami-sama, the ''Earth's God'', taking over someone else's body in order to track King Piccolo's son]].
* For the villains we have Captain Ginyu, leader of the Ginyu Force. He is extremely hammy and loves striking silly poses. He is also second only to Frieza in power and is more than twice as powerful than the other members on his squad. And on the off-chance an opponent is stronger than him, he can steal their bodies.
** The best example is Goku's great great grandson from the ''Anime/DragonBallGT'' movie, who didn't even know he had powers and wasn't aware of his actions while using them, as if they were a separate personality.
* But an even better example is in Gotenks, the fusion of Trunks and Goten. While he gains both of their powers combined, he also happens to gain only (and we mean ONLY) their worst characteristics: Trunks' rebellion and mischievous personality, and Goten's childish and stubborn personality. Immediately after their first correct fusion, they rush off to face Majin Buu despite having never trained, so needless to say, they got their combined ass handed to them. Next, they fuse as Super Saiyans and Gotenks spends so much time showing off that his fusion wears off just as he's about to battle. Throughout his battle with Super Buu, the latter intentionally humiliates the boy at every turn, pretending to take effect only to quickly recover, and even taking out a soda at one point. All of Gotenks' techniques are designed solely to be flashy, and while a couple are by coincidence also legitimately dangerous most are just a complete waste of time. It isn't until Gotenks [[spoiler:[[TheReveal reveals he can go SSJ3]] and]] finds out Buu [[spoiler: killed both his mothers]] when Gotenks officially loses it and kicks some ass. [[spoiler: Too bad the fusion wears off soon afterward]].

[[spoiler: His power comes into play when he [[CurbStompBattle effortlessly turns Zamasu to dust with just the word "Destruction".]]]]
* Champa may be fat and more boorish than Beerus (who's his twin brother), but he is still a God of Destruction and Beerus' equal. [[spoiler: When he loses to Universe 7, he's ready to kill his entire team and dares them to attack him all at once]].
* Zen'o is tiny and childlike, and not very intimidating compared to [[BodyguardingABadass his bodyguards]], but his hidden badass side is enough to terrify Beerus and Champa just by ''showing up'', because they know that this playful and seemingly harmless being is the TopGod of the multiverse, capable of effortlessly destroying universes if he felt like it.[[spoiler: When Goku summons him against [[EldritchAbomination Infinite Zamasu]], he promptly ''wipes the entire timeline from existence'' in order to deal with the rogue Kai.]]
