After training at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, he found his first successes in TheSeventies. Later on, he appeared in ''Series/EnemyAtTheDoor''. His most fondly remembered role was Jeffrey Fairbrother in ''Hi-de-Hi!'', which he left after Series 5 to avoid being {{Typecast}}.

Simon John Cadell, (19 July 1950 -- 6 March 1996), was a British actor best known for playing Jeffrey Fairbrother in ''Series/HiDeHi''.

After training at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, he found his first successes in TheSeventies. Later on, he appeared in ''Series/EnemyAtTheDoor''. His most fondly remembered role was Jeffrey Fairbrother in ''Hi-de-Hi!'', which he left after Series 5 to avoid being {{Typecast}}.

Later in his life, he did voice-overs for commercials and narrated all 27 episodes of ''WesternAnimation/{{Bump}}''.

He died at the age of 45.
