Captain Peter T Deutermann USN (retd) is the author of a series of naval fiction books, military themed crime thrillers, and straightforward crime thrillers. Deutermann is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis Maryland and holds a degree in International Law and Justice from Georgetown. He served in Vietnam as a riverine gunboat skipper, then as Weapons Officer onboard a ship on enemy aircraft screening duty for a carrier battle group. He commanded a destroyer, which was off the coast of Lebanonwhen the Marine barracks were bombed, after which he commanded a DESRON 9squadron of destroyers). He then worked at the Pentagon as an arms control negotiator in the Navy's Ops Plans and Policy department, finally retiring after 26 years with the rank of Captain. He currently lives on a ranch in rural Georgia.
